Homemade bomb? Hardly. But what did this moron think would happen if he was caught with flammable materials trying to board a plane?

I've passed through security at PHL four times in the past couple of weeks. TSA didn't exactly inspire confidence. One fellow was the spitting image of Sideshow Bob.

Customs and Immigration personnel, on the other hand, seemed much more professional in behavior and demeanor.

...so I figured what were the odds there would be TWO bombs on an airplane?...

A plastic bottle full of explosives removed from fireworks.

I guess I have two questions.

1. How much explosives were in the bottle? Just a few sparklers, or a large jar full of black powder?

2. Is his name Mohammed?

I find this story deeply shocking.

There’s a town in Pennsylvania named “Dallas?” Whether that’s in Steeler or Eagle country, that’s just wrong.

Well, if this dude doesn’t get some sort of punishment from the TSA, he can look forward to some from PA. Fireworks are illegal here and you can get in trouble having them (if you are stupid enough to get caught which you really need to work at). This guy is a dope.

George Dallas of Pennsylvania was Vice President under James Polk. Dallas, in both Pennsylvania and Texas, is named after him.

That would be Eagles territory with a healthy dose of Giants and Jets folks.

My guess it was either black powder or some sort of thermite mixture.

The stuff for thermite is pretty simple. And the materials are used in a lot of different places—for example my daughter uses some of them in pottery glazes.

But, mix them together, stick a magnesium tape in them and you have a pretty lethal way to bring down an airplane.

But, they are also used in fireworks.

I think the kid was probably just a dope.

For somethings, there is no such thing as a healthy dose.

"Wore rubber gloves when fondling you??"

Something beeped when I went through the metal detector at the Madrid airport the other day. I got body searched by a guy who never even looked at me nor missed a beat in his conversation with a co-worker while patting me down.

It's all theater and all a joke.
