Not Milt.

EVERY advantage is gone with Romney.

The GOP could win on eligibility alone.

... On the economy alone (The DNC will point to what
Romney did to Mass.)

... On RomneyCARE/ObamaCARE alone.

With Romney, it is all gone.

Below my response that Jud liked so much. I know that any Freeper ever drew a breath will see the truth in my words. The GOP Blue Blood won't, they lack the common sense:

Jud,

Thank you for taking the time to forward this information

As for ideas, information, feedback, or opinions, I got some.

Most of us do not have staunch opinions about the Sheriff issue one way or the other. Many of us, ordinary citizens living our lives to pursue happiness while carrying the county on our backs, have been confronted by this issue whether we wanted to or not.

Sheriff Christopher, a nice enough fellow, seems sincere, has been all over the place talking about his department, the concerns he has, the issues he faces. Jud, not ONE, not a single solitary elected Republican, either state or county council, has addressed the issue of the Sheriff to any of us.

And there are GOP meetings all over the place during any given month but never did I hear Vance Phillips or Joe Booth get up and give us any counter-argument to Christopher's words.

Oh the elected guys have been around but they've none, not a single one, got up and gave us the other point of view on the matter.

Why?

Right there you've got the first of the elite Blue Blood elected attitude whereby they pat our heads and tell us to go away and not worry our pretty heads over the matter.

Christopher, give him credit for all the hatred this man seems to draw from those who know better than us, has been diligently addressing the citizens and he's mostly done a good job of it.

Then comes this HB290 to everyone's surprise and we are all simply aghast. Jud, it's not that something might need to be done about the Sheriff matter. I know that Christopher's been asking for more funds to update his cars and train his deputies. I know there've been disputes about whether he has arrest authority. Most of us think that Sheriffs have arrest authority as it's how a lot of us perceive the position.

Next thing we know a bunch of Republicans, a party that is supposed to be a champion of small government, decide to write a bunch of new laws stripping the Sheriff of arrest rights.

Now I know there's disputes over whether the matter of the Sheriff's arrest rights, interpretations by various Attorney Generals. But by us fools, AG's are not interpreters of constitutions and legislators do not willy-nilly draft major changes to the state code in mid of night.

THIS is how we perceived this entire matter. In politics, perception is everything. Those legislators acted in a tone deaf, arrogant fashion, proving once again the lament of the Sussex countian, indeed Republicans across the fruited plains….THEY SIMPLY DO NOT HAVE A CLUE!

Why didn't the legislators embark on a campaign to educate us morons about the Sheriff issues? Could it be that they thought we didn't need to know, that THEY know better than us? This in an era when we're all biting our fingernails down to nubs over this Obama administration as it methodically dismantles our federal constitution, forces a health care mandate down our throats, has us laying awake nights with nightmares of government control….someday perhaps even over the lightbulbs we use….NO WAIT!

Add a topping of the sweet cherry of Schwartzkopf and his cute little rant about radio talk shows and I don't believe for one second the Republican people didn't know this was going to happen and should have, out of a decency to the electorate, asked him to NOT do that. This, again the excellent timing, soon after a major attack on Rush Limbaugh tried to bring him down.

This entire matter could have been handled so much better and it was the elected Republicans who acted so stupidly, NOT the citizens, NOT those who listen to talk radio.

I don't think the damage can ever be undone.

Sorry, as much as I would have preferred other candidates I can’t support obama by not supporting our side. Whomever the candidate is.

======He just shook his head, “Santorum would’ve been a problem for us. But this guy’s a joke. He’s going to get destroyed. Obama’s really vulnerable, and you guys are picking the weakest candidate to run against him.”=====

I have to say this is confusing since just a few weeks ago .....

While some Democrats didn’t get their wish to deny Mitt Romney a victory in Michigan, there is evidence that Rick Santorum was supported by crossover voting.

According to exit polling Tuesday night, 9% of Michigan voters identified themselves as Democrats. More than half of those voters, or 53%, said they voted for Santorum while 18% picked Romney.

http://content.usatoday.com/communities/onpolitics/post/2012/02/rick-santorum-michigan-crossover-voting-mitt-romney/1#.T3i1K9meq1Q

So your saying Michigan demos supporting Santorum was a double feint?

Maybe being in Chicago they are closer to the Obama machine, but remember we thought Obama would be a patsy and that Hillary was the one that we feared. Its only been 4 years since Rush’s Operation Chaos, have we forgotten that trying to choose your opponent is not always a winning strategy.

I heard both Romney and Santorum speak last night. If you want unfocused passion in a candidate, Santorum is definitely the guy. I identify with his passion and that he is more conservative, but this is a deadly election and we need to be deadly accurate.

And his repeated gaffes where he falls for the Democrat’s trick play of ‘war on women’ contraceptives, declares war on porn, etc. fall in line with what I hear as Santorum’s lack of focus. Sorry to disagree with your Chicago friends, but the media would make this election about everything except Obama’s socialist unconstitutional tear. And Santorum has shown he can’t refuse the bait.

Unlike McCain, I think Romney has focus and is going to keep the crosshairs on Obama. He’s getting better on economic freedom and I think he will be able to explain why Dodd-Frank is just more Democrat crony capitalism, why Paul Ryan’s budget is going to be effective, why investing in Solydra is a failure, in a way that Santorum just won’t be able to.

BTW, I was for Cain (who came to Wisconsin and didn’t know about Walker’s reforms) and Perry. Its incredible that conservative stalwarts can’t up their games.

I may be wrong, but in our fearful careening debt economy and the constant division of Obama’s socialist games, quiet accuracy, imperviousness to being taken off message and strategic effectiveness may be the winning strategy.

Declaring War on Porn, while we are under the most un-American, dangerous fearful president ever, is not.

Flame away.

Below, the council woman's response. She makes, boom, a bunch of accusations with absolutely no justification. Across the fruited plains, folks, it's how they do. They don't like a constitution....boom, they change it.

===============

Dear Friends,

In Delaware the sheriffs in all three counties function as an arm of the court, serving papers and auctioning property. These things could also be done under contract with a private company or directly by County employees.

The County Council has to comply with State law and we have two Delaware Attorney General opinions confirming that the county sheriff has no powers of arrest. Jeff Christopher wants the sheriff to be the ultimate law enforcement official in Delaware. While he pursues his political crusade, misdirects County employees and misuses County cars and equipment it is urgent that we seek help from the General Assembly or in Court.

Assuming everything you say is true (and I am no Romney fan) then tell me how we get out of this.

Tell me how Romney does not get the nomination.

Tell me who does. Seriously, I’m all ears (or eyes on the forum!) I hear all this talk on Free Republic that is anti-Romney, hell, I even share it, but all I do is see him win and pick up endorsements from conservatives I like.

It’s easy to say why Romney shouldn’t win, but no one can explain what we do if he does.

I only have one thing I can say for sure. WHOEVER runs against Obama in November has my vote.

I would not get worked up over the hyphens, they mean nothing!!! By the way it looks like the “tens of thousands” protestors that were to show up in support of the Traylon Martin rally being held in Miami, this afternoon never showed up!!! The Congressional Black Caucus congresswomen that set this farce up, look like the buffoons they are!!! Maybe, just maybe, some day American Blacks will wise up and stop following their bogus leaders from ministers, to politicians, to Black racists!!! Looks like the brothers and sisters with sense stayed home and away from the crazies, from Obama on down!!! Check it out, folks!!!

AB

I don’t know what much I can say about your post except....you’re right.

Romney is inevitable, I’ve accepted it.

I’m at a point where my plan is...let’s elect Romney. We’ve got to allow that the man got SOME kind of message during his campaign.

THEN, this will shock, all during the Romney years, let’s form a new political party, the ‘ell with them.

I don’t know if anybody’s been following my totally out of context above about a local Sheriff issue, I’m talking out loud more than anything.

BUT it’s like NONE of this existing political class is going to let go of their tenacious grasp of power.

I truely feel that if power is ever to be returned to the people it’s time for the people to form their own party.

Argue amongst yourselves, do not lecture to me. I know the pitfalls but the alternative is to let these Democratic Lite politicos follow right behind the Democrats to this country’s destruction.

Unless WE, the people, STOP THEM!
