Obama warns 'unelected' Supreme Court against striking down health law

**I think Obama, in his post-summit (Mexico, US, Canada) TV appearance, just told the US Supreme Court how to vote on the Obamacare issue.**

President Obama, employing his strongest language to date on the Supreme Court review of the federal health care overhaul, cautioned the court Monday against overturning the law -- while repeatedly saying he's "confident" it will be upheld.

The president spoke at length about the case at a joint press conference with the leaders of Mexico and Canada. The president, adopting what he described as the language of conservatives who fret about judicial activism, questioned how an "unelected group of people" could overturn a law approved by Congress.

"I'm confident that the Supreme Court will not take what would be an unprecedented, extraordinary step of overturning a law that was passed by a strong majority of a democratically elected Congress," Obama said.

The Supreme Court spent three days hearing arguments last week in four separate challenges to the health care law, which stands as the president's signature domestic policy accomplishment. A central challenge was over the individual mandate -- the requirement that Americans buy health insurance. Critics say the mandate is unconstitutional, and that the federal government cannot force people into the insurance marketplace.

Obama and the whole left side has been threatening and bullying the Justices since last week.

If I were on that court, I would purposely vote against them just to piss them off.

Little late now, since they voted last Friday. But maybe Kagan gave the heads up on the count. Maybe he is trying to have some change their minds.

Some here believe that the court's initial vote was to toss Obiecare, and that Kagan dutifully let her boss know about it. Hence, the full-court press by the administration.

I really hope that certain justices are taking their personal security very seriously.

There is no reason why a President, like any other citizen, can’t publicly call for the Supreme Court to decide a certain way.

Of course, his exhortation has no more Constitutional weight than mine would.

The Fourth Estate is the Fifth Column so a little treason in form of staying silent is par for course....

I could quite easily believe that those two lefties Obama put on the court would tell Obama the outcome of the first vote.

I keep in mind that that judge that was going to make a ruling against the administration was shot to death standing beside Gabby Giffords.

Nothing would stop these jackals from what they want.

I couldn't believe it myself, and it wasn't on the newswires yet.

It will, however, be there soon.

A replay happens to be on the FoxNews channel right NOW.

Probably so but I don’t understand how this made the Freerepublic headlines with no references cited, no links, nothing.

How and what what was said?

The vote was taken last Friday. I know the vote can be changed before the USSC issues its official ruling in June, as I’ve read in the news.

God forbid, but happens if a justice passes away before then ruling is officially issued? Will/can the vote be changed by the remaining members?

I bet if Judge Alito saw Obama on TV he would shake his head no and say FUBO! I love that guy!
