Bobby Rush: 'Lynched' on the House Floor by Mississippi Republican? [says WAPO]
newsbusters.org ^ | 4/2/12 | Tim Graham

When Rep. Bobby Rush donned a hoodie and sunglasses on the House floor as a stunt to publicize his opposition to the handling of Trayvon Martin's death in Florida, McClatchy News Service cooed, "For the 65-year-old former 1960s Black Panther Party activist, an act of civil disobedience never felt so good."

But Washington Post columnist Lisa Miller inflated the stunt way beyond its significance --- comparing it to lynching -- with a white Republican congressman from Mississippi, Rep. Gregg Harper, as the alleged metaphorical hangman for pounding the gavel and calling Rep. Rush out of order:

So what he’s expressing here....is that you can take a man out of the ‘hood.....but you can’t take the ‘hood out of the man?

Just wait, there’ll be an apology forthcoming for the acting speaker attempting to enforce procedure. But the nbp can put hits out on citizens and intimidate voters with impunity. No “lynching” there. This is becoming an insane circus and our leadership, who have the power of the microphone, are rolling over again. We are on our own.

Remember “The boy who cried wolf”

This is “The media who cried ‘racism’”

and they are NOT getting away with it (like they used to)

It is against the rules of order for a gentleman or gentlewoman to wear a hat while on the floor of the House.

If the author took a second to research, there would be no article.

If Rush had researched, he would have discovered that Martin didn’ don his own hoodie until AFTER Zimmerman started tracking him - per Martin’s girlfriend

Funny how, the Black Panthers have a reward out for the LYNCHING of Zimmerman, and that goes uncommented on.

Is Bobby Rush still alive?

Yes?

Then he wasn't lynched.

By definition.

So ... WaPo is lying.

Again.

As usual.

Ah yes, but you forget the first rule of modern American politcs. Rules don't apply to Democrats. Especially Black Democrats.

#1. The lynch mobs in the old south were Democrats.

#2. The present day lynch mobs are Democrats.

#3. Trayvon’s live was stolen by thug culture. Anything that celebrates thug culture steals the lives of more Trayvons. It guarantees that their lives are pointless and that they will lose even that at an early age.

Bobby Rush was a cofounder of the IL BPP. He is a advocate of Black Liberation theology.

Cone defines it [Black Liberation Theology] as “complete emancipation of black people from white oppression by whatever means black people deem necessary.” For Cone, the deeply racist structure of American society leaves blacks with no alternative but radical transformation or social withdrawal. So-called Christianity, as commonly practiced in the United States, is actually the racist Antichrist. “Theologically,” Cone affirms, “Malcolm X was not far wrong when he called the white man ‘the devil.’” The false Christianity of the white-devil oppressor must be replaced by an authentic Christianity fully identified with the poor and oppressed. Stanley Kurtz quoted

Who is the racist, Rush or the “White man from Mississippi”??

Then do it already. But don’t expect any help from those you have emancipated yourself from if it fails. As to “any means necessary”, don’t start crying uncle when you realize that you emancipated with the wrong guy and he decided to emancipate back.

Actual lynching, stringing folks who we Republicans quaintly and politely used to call "Negroes" from trees and telephone poles, and not infrequently setting them on fire as well, was a favored past time of one of the Democratic Party's largest constituencies, the Ku Klux Klan. Right Bob? Good times, eh?

Dr. King is rolling over in his grave if he knew today's black leaders are RACISTS!! Yes, Jessie, Louis, Al and Bobby Rush are ALL RACISTS.

As Dr. M L King said, judge a person by character (and p[lease black moms, don't give your kids CRAZY names!!) not by skin color.

Yes blacks, when you go out and protest black on black shooting VICTIMS....or better yet black on White (where the white are victims!) maybe I'll believe you.

If they emancipate, who will support them?
