Prof Says Global Warming Skepticism Is Racism…Wants It Diagnosed As a Disease
Gateway Pundit ^ | March 31, 2012, | Andrea Ryan

Posted on 04/03/2012 7:44:01 AM PDT by Baynative

Professor Kari Norgaard has followed the lead of all the other Liberals who can’t use data and facts to win their argument. Professor Norgaard, from the University of Oregon, says to deny Global Warming junk science is “racism.” But, it’s even more absurd than that. If you reject the junk data, corruption, and blatant grab for power that is the Green Movement she wants you diagnosed with a disease. And treated.

Yes.

Skeptics should be rounded up and set to special camps for re-education.

Don’t laugh - these people are running your country.

She has a face that positively SCREAMS “douchebag”.

I’m sorry...was that mean? Was that Harsh and Insensitive?

Do I care?

She also has a bunch of grants from the Karuk Tribe, who own land along the Klamath River, and are behind a lot of the litigation about shutting off Klamath water to farmers

Good connection. Nice to have proof that the creeps fronting this massive scam overtly do mean to do us physical harm. Even if they do take land and livelihood, they still won't leave you alone. They'll incarcerate and "treat" you, just like the Soviets did.

I think I've heard the word "racism' more in the last four years than ANY other time in my 50 plus years on this planet. Don't even get me started on the "phobe," usage to create haters in all walks of life.

This woman should be put out to pasture with a flake of hay and a exhaust manifold on her spincter(s). She can go chew on her cud with Mr Ed for all I care.

***This woman looks like a backwoods hayseed who never left the hills.***

I’ve never seen hayseed girls look like that bad. She looks like a girl I went to school who was very mentally retarded.

If I saw this “woman” on the street I would wonder if she was mentally retarded. “Challenged” is too kind of word for this woman.

Halley's Comet?

Sure it wasn't the early models of the Ford Model T—at most a few over a hundred thousand cars were on the road nationwide in 1910 so the CO2 emanations of any local pasture would be greater

Earth DID pass through the tail of Halley's Comet later that year...hmm...cosmic mind altering dust...might explain both the contemporary multiplication of American socialists and the general butt brained acceptance of what they say.

"From 1934 to 1940, under Lysenko's admonitions and with Stalin's approval, many geneticists were executed (including Isaak Agol, Solomon Levit, Grigorii Levitskii, Georgii Karpechenko and Georgii Nadson) or sent to labor camps. The famous Soviet geneticist Nikolai Vavilov was arrested in 1940 and died in prison in 1943."

"Thus, Lysenkoism caused serious, long-term harm to Soviet knowledge of biology. It represented a serious failure of the early Soviet leadership to find real solutions to agricultural problems, throwing their support behind a charlatan at the expense of many human lives."

Waaaayyy past nutty...

“deciding who is culturally authorized to lead the charge for re-thinking and re-inventing social life”

One paradox of Living in Denial is that it reveals a distinctive local culture that seems resilient to the narrated threat of climate change. Cultural practices and collective beliefs in Bygdaby stabilize community life rather than unsettle it. They allow the social organization of denial to emerge as a form of resistance to external global-scale challenges. This perspective challenges the positive valency that has recently been attached to the idea of resilience. Rather than being a desirable property of communities, cultural resilience may in fact become subversive by disabling radical forms of social and political change.

Here is where the real challenge of climate change rests, for denialists and activists alike: deciding who is culturally authorized to lead the charge for re-thinking and re-inventing social life in what is now inescapably a globalized and deeply interconnected world. It used to be kings and priests. Modernity then tried politicians and scientists. We now seem to be trying celebrities and bloggers. But who would the citizens of Bygdaby trust to lead them out of the land of slavery and denial?

Norgaard’s involvement in the Klamath issues speaks volumes about the quality of “science” being used here.

A PhD friend of mine drew my attention to a link to a Washington Post article on her 2005 work for the Karuk tribe. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A47525-2005Jan29.html

Here is a quote from that article, about dams killing Indians on the Klamath River:

“The dams are quite literally killing Indians, according to a tribe- commissioned report that was written by Kari Marie Norgaard, a sociologist from the University of California at Davis. The report links the disappearance of salmon to increases in poverty, unemployment, suicide and social dissolution.”

The people who repeat this rhetoric are considered experts. Their quotes are entered in the public record as scientific fact. They are taking away our right to own property little by little and so many people aren't concerned because they don't think they have a dog in the fight based on the fact that they don't farm or live by a river, lake, or shoreline.
