Enhanced video of George Zimmerman being led into a Florida police station appears to show possible injuries to the back of his head, lending credence to his claim he was in a struggle with Trayvon Martin when he shot the teen.
ABC News initially released video of Zimmerman that did not clearly show marks on his scalp, but had the video enhanced digitally and released a new clip on Monday. That clip appears to show a gash. Zimmerman's father claims his son was being beaten by the 17-year-old teen when he shot Martin in self-defense. Martin's supporters say Zimmerman shot the unarmed teen on Feb. 26 after racially profiling him and stalking the youth through his neighborhood.

Importantly, if you are ever involved in an incident like this, it is vital that you get certified photographs taken of your injuries.
By certified I mean photos taken in front of your attorney, so “if necessary” they can assert, as an officer of the court, that they are genuine. And *he*, your attorney, gets possession of those photographs in an unbroken chain of control, so he can also testify that they have not been photo manipulated in any way. As needed, he should even take temporary possession of the camera used to take them as well.
This doesn’t mean you tell anyone else that photographs have been taken, so they can’t be used against you, but only entered into evidence as exculpatory, in your behalf.
Next, if you have to go to the ER, the police will likely have access to those records, but they will only mention immediate, emergent problems. So after you leave, schedule an appointment with your regular doctor to be thoroughly checked out. This is vital if you need to claim long term damages.

Follow-up correction a few days later after initial report has made its way through the news cycle and liberal blogsphere:
Oops, maybe he was...
Question is...did the extra layer of video quality exist from the begining? Did ABC show a low resolution video to the public to obscure the wounds on purpose?
Huge fact #5 is that Zimmerman clearly had very severe injuries to his head, not to mention a broken nose. Thus, his claim of being attacked before shooting was HIGHLY CREDIBLE. The police were completely justified in not arresting him on the spot.
This initial decision never precluded their later arresting him if disconfirmatory evidence came forward regarding his account. But the lion’s share of eyewitness testimony, the 911 calls and common sense nearly all support his story rather than challenge its accuracy.
The unenhanced video showed clear signs of injuries too... that was very obvious.
Huge fact #6 Zimmerman was mis-labeled a white man and trashed by race-baiters accordingly. Only later does it become obvious that Zimmerman is Hispanic. If Zimmerman is white so is our President.

100 pound weight advantage to Zimmerman.
2 shots fired, with Trayvon begging for mercy after the first shot, and going silent after the 2nd one.
Completely skipping Zimmerman's account.
Zimmerman chased down Martin (in some versions, with his gun drawn).
The dispatcher told Zimmerman not to leave his vehicle.
Zimmerman made 46 calls to 911 in one year.
I bet he is at the top of his class.../s
He will make a great employee one day. /s
Nothing like making a complete fool of yourself in public.
"State Attorney Norm Wolfinger released a statement on Monday saying he is "outraged by the outright lies" contained in a letter written by the attorney of Trayvon Martin's parents, who are seeking a federal review in the case."
This is the way I think it happened. ABC got the leaked video of a monitor footage and ran with their “No signs of injury story.” The Sanford PD saw how the wrong conclusions were being drawn so put out the originals which were of better but certainly not high quality.
