Zimmerman neighbor on robberies by ‘young black men’ before Trayvon shooting: ‘If you plant corn,

George Zimmerman's Sanford, Fla., neighbor, said the neighborhood watchman protected his residence from a potential burglary several weeks before the shooting of Trayvon Martin.

Frank Taaffe, a former neighborhood watch captain, told CNN that his house was in the process of being robbed on Feb. 2, but Zimmerman called Sanford police, who thwarted the robbery.

"My house was being robbed, and George on his nightly rounds watched this burglary in progress, called Sanford P.D., waited for them, and helped ensure that nothing bad happened to my house," Taaffe said. "And it's documented in the 911 call for February 2. That was my residence that George Zimmerman helped stop." Zimmerman shot and killed Martin on Feb. 26.

"Neighbor-hood, that's a great word," Taaffe said.

Taaffe said that "young black males" were the perpetrators in the attempted robbery of his home. "We had eight burglaries in our neighborhood all perpetrated by young black males in the 15 months prior to Trayvon being shot," Taaffe said. "It would have been nine."

Taaffe denied that he told the New York Times that burglaries were done by "Trayvon-like dudes with their pants down."

"I never said that," he said. "I never used that term."

You know, this is a really good point that I don’t think has ever been addressed.

But, Obama’s a white-black. His son would be a white-black-black.

I live in Queens New York city across the street from a Duane Reade drug store that is VERY easy to rip off, and every so often when I walk to work and pass it, I hear the “beep” of someone passing through the detector which means they just ripped off something.

And the people who work there just do not care. So what happens, is the person who just shoplifted walks out (99 times out of 100 it is a black woman) and I follow them. Not because I am Mr. Cop wannabe, but because that is the way I walk to work.

And I cannot tell you how many times they look behind their back while walking. I have it down to a science...Every 10 seconds....Walk walk...look behind....walk walk...look behind. (How many times do you look behind you when walking in broad daylight?) And some of them will stop thinking I’m following them but I just keep walking.

That’s exacly what happened here. Trayvon got paranoid, saw the “rent a cop” get on the phone, then he tried to do a “one punch” on Zimmerman which is a gangsta macho fad to see if you can knock out someone with one punch.

Only Zimmerman didn’t get knocked out and you can take it from there.

Did he pay for it or rip it off? Show me the video tape of the store when he was there.

I heard somewhere that he has $22 in cash on him when he died. Any change or just paprer bills? If he had $22 even, my bet would be he stole the soda and Skittles since it's unlikely they came to an even amount.

This story is making me sick to my stomach. If blacks dont want to be profiled - well then they need to stop feeding into every negative stereotype out there.

I think your theory is very plausible.

There has been no evidence whatsoever that he actually paid for the tea and Skittles, leaving the only possible evidence is that he stole from that store.

Perhaps. . .but not all jurisdictions adhere to that standard and burglary is burglary no matter time of day.

Oddly, I think Louisiana is the one state that was never common law. It followed civil law, which was what generally was followed in continental Europe, as opposed to common law, which caem to us through the English legal system.

That being said, a great many states have superceded a lot of common law by statute, so that a lot of states have dropped the "at night" requirement.

Oddly, that is not what Mr. Taffee said in this Fox43 video interview that was posted on YouTube on March 13th.

How does one rob a home??

The same way that one robs you.

Robbery is the unlawful taking by force. People are mistaken by terminology. Especially journalists... you can’t rob a concrete object. Factually a moron report.

"I never said that," he said. "I never used that term."

Well, then, The New Yorks Times made a dead-on inference, and felt duty-bound to ascribe it to Taafe.

I see no problem there.

It would be SOP to lean on the owner of the store to erase the surveillance tapes.
If it verified Obama Jr's version on the phone it would have been on national TV the next day.

Nuff said.

It's time for some news outlets to put out the truth about crime. I talking numbers - not 'feelings'.

the fact it doesn’t matter whether this neighbor or even zimmerman are PC-sensitive enough for the media.

What matters is that zimmermans account makes sense, and that it is supported by the evidence. Therefore if there ever is a trial and IF (big if here) it was a fair trial, zimmerman would go free based on reasonable doubt.
