The coal industry will suffer the same fate as Osama bin Laden under new climate regulations proposed by the Environmental Protection Agency, the head of the United Mine Workers of America said this week.
The Navy SEALs shot Osama Bin Laden in Pakistan and Lisa Jackson shot us in Washington, Cecil Roberts, president of the powerful union, said during an interview Tuesday on the West Virginia radio show MetroNews Talkline.

I just read that.
Poor babies, start looking girls LOL!
You chin well fought!
And you union pukes can only dream of being Navy Seals LOL!
I wouldn’t go there. Some of those “union pukes” could easily have been Navy SEALS.
.
“No coal plants here in America” - Joe Biden 2008
Ole Cecil must not be the sharpest tool in the mine if he’s just now figuring out that the 0bama Regime all along has only wanted to eliminate the entire coal industry. Geez Cec’, wake up!
I wouldnt go there. Some of those union pukes could easily have been Navy SEALS.
............Dream on my man, you just had to add “easily”.
I’ve got no sympathy for them. I’m sure 70% of their members took their union marching orders and voted for Obama. They deserve what they get. Unfortunately, the whole country will suffer.
What Robert’s is really saying is that it will be the death of UMWA. They only represent around 10% of coal miner’s. Yes the EPA is hammering the industry and the fallout is some UMW mines are being shut down. Consol’s Buchanan mine shut down their longwall, Patriot has shuttered several represented mines. These are high quality Met mines that no one would have dreamed two years ago that they would be gone.
Currently companies can’t give thermal coal away. With the added regulations we are going to see more mines go away. Just the one regulation of proximity detection on continous miners costs ~ $70 thousand per miner. All CM’s are required to have this within 3 years and they will pass a law requiring all underground equipment fitted with this technology. If a company has 100 continous miners they have around 300 shuttle cars, 4 scoops per section, 100 bolters etc. Do the math. New reg’s on rescue chambers is coming out and will cost around $80 thousand per chamber. Companies like Alpha probably have around 200-250 rescue chambers. Smaller companies are going to get wiped out.
So the Unions are still backing their boy after this statement. Shows the stupidity of Union bosses and their sheep.

uh no, not likely. Union pukes are in fact VERY UNLIKELY to finish BUDs. You see SEALs have to take responsibility for their action, finish the tasks assigned without concern for self, are self reliant and self motivators, don't whine about union rules and are in fact diametrically opposed to collectivist outcomes but more in line for attention to detail and superior work ethic. In fact after looking at my list it's laughable that even one would qualify for training and after the instructors made him work outside of his job description or hourly parameters or "overtime" he'd QUIT.
bwahahahaha. Union workers as SEALs. Hahahahahaha. That's rich. maybe a Seal at Sea World or a Seal at the circus. Or even a wannabe SEAL for the TSA, but a special operator puhleeze. You have no idea what they're all about.
Thats something that we have not done yet and may not do because of this very reason. Our peoples jobs are on the line, Roberts said, adding that Obama has done a lot of great things for the country.
This is why private sector unions are also going the way of OBL. The United Mine Workers actively endorsed the current occupant of the W.H., as did the IBEW. I remember like it was yesterday all the officers in my local urging us to go to the polls, bring others to the polls and get 0bama elected. All I could think at the time was , "They actually want me to support someone who vows to stop building coal plants in this country.", which is the union's bread and butter. Fast forward to today, 4 years later and 'The Won's' policies have destroyed the economy, the coal industry is becoming extinct and this UMW president says ,"Obama has done a lot of great things for the country.. NAME ONE!!!! The in-lieu president has destroyed your industry and you won't go as far as not supporting him????? How is that representing the rank and file?
Even though I'm an IBEW member (because I have to be) and I'm affected, I find it hard to muster any sympathy for the unions.
Their just talking this way alone shows there is trouble in the UMW ranks. They know the men aren’t stupid. They know their membership won’t vote lockstep for a guy who is killing them. This is a good thing.
They know their membership wont vote lockstep for a guy who is killing them.
Osama bin Laden lived in that enclosed compound for five years with three wives and never leaving the compound. It is thought that maybe he called the Navy Seals.
I feel a certain shadenfreude until I remember that it’s not only the UMW that’s going to be sufferering.
What some may say public will differ from what they do in a closed voting booth. Not the Union Leadership, but the line workers who get their hands dirty for living. Not all, probably not the majority, but a strong percentage are not dumb, they just have always lived and worked in that area.
