Not shaken, not stirred: James Bond will be drinking beernot his signature martiniin a scene in the next big-screen 007 installment starring Daniel Craig.
As part of a global ad campaign, Craig will be throwing back a Heineken in the upcoming "Skyfall" as well as on globally-run television spots, according to an Ad Age report.
Yahoo! Movies reached out to its audience to gauge reaction to Bond's Heiney. And it is news the Dutch beer company may want to sit down for:
"D**** you, Product Placement," Doug wrote on Twitter in response to our update on @YahooMovies. Davey C simply tweeted "Screw 'em." Dave Yakir echoed thoughts with a "what a load of crap" tweet, and Keith Williams typed, "Booooo!!!"

“Bond also preferred a .25 Beretta, which isn’t exactly the firearm of a superhero. M forced him to switch to the 7.65 mm Walter, and the movies finally weaned him off that to a 9mm P99.”
Bond’s moving up to bigger and bigger guns over the years reminds me of the sarcastic quip from an Israeli special ops instructor in “Sword of Gideon”: “Perhaps you would like a bazooka?”
I personally have no problem with the P99 in one hand and a nice lager beer in the other.
I thought the PPK made plenty of sense. Small, flat, and commonplace in Europe (being both a police arm and a German-origin war leftover), as was the caliber. Easy to “sanitize”. The KGB secreted them in caches for their western European agents for that very reason.
BTW, I never realized Bond’s Beretta was .25 caliber. I always thought his Beretta was one of the 1930s 7.65mm or .380 pieces that were carried by the Italians in WW2 and were popular among Allied troops.
Yeah, I’d call .25 caliber useless.
1—Craig has only ever driven an automatic, it wasnt that he couldnt drive with a gearstick, he just wasnt used to it.
2—Craig never said he was scared of guns, he said he didnt like and was ‘scared’ of the lethal potential of what guns do in the wrong hands. This has been misquoted to say that he dosent like guns per se or is scared of them. Hell, the man trained with the SAS for a fortnight before the first Bond film. He is no wimp.
3—Not aware he waxes, but then again, your toughest movie hero used to wear high heeled boots to exaggerate his height, and dodged fighting in ww2. Actors are actors because they are actors, they are not real killers. They just play them.
I like the idea of Bond sipping on a Heineken with an 18 shot 9mm Walter in his pocket is perfect Bond; better than the original incarnation. Bond leaning on a bar with a .25 caliber Beretta sipping on a martini? Might as well put a pink skirt on and carry a purse.
He wore a hairpiece too.
Ale have to check this out. Thanks shove_it.
Thank you Sunkenciv and shove_it
Why are you telling Sunken to shove it ?
Craig drove a silverbirch Aston Martin DB5 in the early part of CASINO ROYALE
For SKYFALL? - Recently the rare NIB 1/24 scale silverbirch DB5s with all the trick stuff on it (not manufactured for years by Danbury Mint) on eBay are going for $468 and more
Go for a larger 1/18 DB5 and they are again being made by JoyRide and sold for somewhere around $60 - AUTOart DB5s go for a bit over $100
Used from the UK Just under $200
DB5s were in:
I cannot verify if the well known DB5 will be back again in SKYFALL - But the sudden doubling and tripling of the prices 1/24 scale silverbirch diecast DM DB5s may provide a clue
In Ian Fleming’s novel GOLDFINGER - There was no white 1964½ Mustang convertible - What car was in Fleming’s book - and what color was it?
In GOLDENEYE Bond in his silverbirch DB5 has another little race with a much more powerful red Ferrari F455 GTS - I always wondered why the producers did not use the more evenly matched older and very well known red Ferrari 308GTS - What well known actor drove a red Ferrari 308GTS - and in what show?
Which car did Bond drive in DR. NO - and how much did it cost the producers and why? (and not the mucho classic black ‘57 Chevy Bel Air convertible)
What car was ALMOST chosen for James Bond to drive in 007 movies? (I believe the director owned and drove one) Hint: Enzo Ferrari once said it was the most beautiful car in the world.....
In the movie DIE ANOTHER DAY - what was TRULY unique (and why) about both Bond’s silver Aston Martin Vanquish (and not the silly invisible car stuff) and the green Jaquar XKR a Bond movie villain drove in DAD?
What was WEIRD about the car chase scene in DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER -
No GOOGLING up the answers!
Oh yeah, well kiss my, oh wait, that’s another FReeper nickname, now I see. ;’)
He did drink a beer in his hotel room in the novel “The Man with the Golden Gun”.
