...If it's Mittens what are YOU going to do...are you going to swallow DEEP, PLUG yout NOSE and vote for "him" OR WAHT?
I'm not surprised that there were at least a few close states.IIRC Missouri was close too and went for Bush but, obviously,it's a large state...or at least it's not small.New Hampshire is the only *small* state that I recall having been close and having gone to Bush.
Romney has only mentioned repealing Obamacare about 50 times in the campaign so far. he will gut it, repeal it, and take a federalist approach on healthcare reform. He will sign the repeal bill that a republican Congress sends him. Yeah, it’s absurd of us to nominate a guy who implemented Romneycare, but repeal of Obamacare is his mandate:
“President Obamas trillion dollar federal takeover of the U.S. health care system is a disaster for the federal budget, a disaster for the constitutional principles of federalism, and a disaster for the American people.
On his first day in office, Mitt Romney will issue an executive order that paves the way for the federal government to issue Obamacare waivers to all fifty states. He will then work with Congress to repeal the full legislation as quickly as possible.
In place of Obamacare, Mitt will pursue policies that give each state the power to craft a health care reform plan that is best for its own citizens. The federal governments role will be to help markets work by creating a level playing field for competition. “

romney, mccane, dole, just another rino I will not vote for, unfortunatly the GOP establishment is to dumb to learn.
I won’t vote for Romney. I’ll write in Sarah Palin
What makes you think that Romney plans to put conservatives on the bench?
“Sunshine Patriots”.
If Romney wins, in two years, congressional elections will likely swing to Democrats, and we will have a GOP-labeled RAT with a RAT congress.
Unless one thinks Justice Souter was conservative.
The only thing we can be *certain* of is that Romney's nominees won't be any worse that Osama's.And it's distinctly possible (I'd say "likely") that Romney's would be at least a *bit* better. And who knows..........*maybe* they'd be *noticeably* better.
Oh yeah, sure he will.
But obama is??!!?
I’m in Texas so the Republican will win, with or without my help. But I am more willing to vote for Romney than I am McCain. At least Romney didn’t spend the last decade trashing Bush every time a tv camera was pushed into his face like McCain did from ‘00 to ‘08. Romney is far from who I’d like to see as our nominee but at least he’s not the punk and traitor to the party that McCain is. And I’m hopeful Romney’s daughters won’t turn into embarrassing tramps the way McCain’s daughter is.
So, yes, I will hold my nose and vote for Romney if I need to. However, if a better conservative is running third party (In 2008, I vote for the Constitution Party), then I will vote that way in the general election since Texas is not a toss-up state. If Romney can’t carry Texas against Obama, we’re looking landslide re-election anyway and then Bye Bye America.
Pending Supreme Court appointments?
National Security threats?
Debauching the Currency?
The Nanny State?
Exponential debt growth?
Communist cabinet officers?
Racism?
Hatred for America?
Alinskyite Brown Shirts?
Class Warfare?
We can’t score a touchdown until we get the ball back!
ABO!
I’ll do it. Anyone but Obama. I won’t be proud. The Supreme Court is up for grabs. Anyone but Obama.
Ditto, A.B.O.
Who gives a rip about what the Republican party thinks?! Who did the party prevent from running? Is there some great conservative who really wanted to run, but the party held them back??
Wouldn't it be great to have a nice, solid conservative as the candidate. And you think we don't - because of the party? No, the party doesn't vote for candidates - it's the voters, stupid! (or more accurately perhaps - the stupid voters 8^)
Conservative have a grand history of being home to the congenital complainer. Those individuals who, when everything is not perfectly to their satisfaction, take their ball and go home. Why? For the sole purpose of the chance to gloat "Na nah! See - I knew you couldn't win without me!".
Those who don't vote - for lack of a preffered candidate - may think it's principled. I disagree - it's simply petulance & whining...
Perhaps we hate Romney because we love America. Have you considered that?
Romney will massage fascism until it’s palatable, huh?
[What makes you think that Romney plans to put conservatives on the bench?]
Oh, by all means, Obama will do a much better job of it. By the way, did you ever, finally graduate the 6th grade?
A vote for Romney means the GOP wins again in maintaining the status quo, screwing us again. Think about it, they gave us Ford, Dole, McCain, and now this looser. I don’t want zero, but I don’t want Romney either, If my refusing to vote screws the GOP, so be it. There has got to be a stop to both parties, I have my ideas on how, but first we the people have got to stand together.
Nope. The Republican establishment needs to learn the hard lesson, that “moderates” do not win. We will lose this election, but if Republicans learn from their mistakes, we may win big in the following election.
This has been my argument all along. Anyone could have jumped in. As the voting process moved along, this is what we're left with. It's childish to sit home and blame the establishment. People act like this is just another run-of-the-mill Democrat vs. Republican election. Well it's not. The survival of the country is at stake and I think Romney gets that. I was a strong Perry supporter and was disappointed when he dropped out. That doesn't mean I'm going to sit out the most important election of our lifetime.
I’ll be sitting this one out.
Geez, another one. Who give a rip about the GOP, it's the country we're should be concerned with. You sound like your biggest concern is "sticking it to the man".
Grow up - please...
I will vote for Romney, but i also will be on the phone and mail frequently reminding my congress critters that they need to stop the expansion of Govt.>>>
And they’ll listen to us like they always do. Vote for the Senate and the House and anyone but zero or mittens.
Agreed
you too...
Ditto: ABO
Pray I'm having emergency surgery on election day.
There is at least one thing that is more dangerous than a second Obama term:
“Conservatives” with absolutely no principles left.
Man, we thought Clintoon was bad. Four more years of Obama??? God help us.
Our country hangs in the balance... ObamaCare? More liberal justices added to the SCOTUS? {{shudder}}
My husband and I - and everyone we know - will be voting ABO: Anybody But Obama
I know... incredible, huh?
I. Don't. Get. It.
Since you asked...
The GOP will never “learn a lesson” because too many still vote for them.
The GOP is a dead political party, and slowly but surely we are facing that fact.
It is sad and scary, (as evidenced by many on this thread who still cannot face it).
They will someday, as we all did.
And more and more people that I know are going to be crawling there right next to me.
Voting for a RINO who had to govern a left wing state over a radical communist shouldn’t compromise your conservative principles. It would be far worse for the next generations to never have known the America we knew.
I always said I would never vote for Romney, who’s a slithering lying, deceptive manipulator who cares only about winning offices...but after watching Dear Leader threaten the Supreme Court (”That’s a nice little court you have there, wouldn’t want anything bad to happen to it, would ya’?) I realized I’d probably end up voting for Mitt, even though he’s a pro-abort gun-banner, because Obama is pure evil, an un-American would-be Stalin, whereas Romney’s just a wanna-be Princeling who likes the trappings of office, but I don’t think he burns and seethes with the pure hatred of America and our country like Obama does.
Ed
I’m sorry - exactly how did they “stop” Palin?
And if they somehow did “stop” her, is that the candidate you want anyway - someone who could be “stopped” by the party.
Take off the tinfoil...
OMG
Obama Must Go.
Party first, Conservative distant second, eh?
There seems to be a lot of that going on around here these days...
We have a winner! Give the man a cigar!
What is sad and scary is that there are so many who think that voting for the “protest” candidate solves anything.
“Let’s not delay the inevitable! Let it all go up in flames - then we’ll rise victorious from the ashes!”
You’re certain that the political system that comes out of the ashes will bring improvement? You’re willing to take that chance?
Nope.
Pragmatic Patriots
I will vote for the Republican against Obama, just as I did in 2008
I challenged your assertion, and this is your response?
I'll try again: who is it that stopped Palin from running? And if she was cowed, how then is she a good candidate?
Do you have an answer?
