Does Romney have a 14-Million-Man Army ready for General Election? (Vanity)

Another FReeper, in another posted comment, just this week, stated that his Mormon neighbor was obsessed with getting a Mormon, Mitt Romney, elected President of the United States. That statement has "stuck in my craw" ever since I read it; which begs to question:

If Mitt Romney is the GOP Nominee for POTUS, will the 14 million Mormons in the U.S. mobilize for him during the General Election? Hmmmmm....... Just wondering. The Mormon Church not only has a lot of "foot soldiers", but they know how to "mobilize". They've done it for decades.

Do not underestimate RINO-Rom in the GE. He's hungry. He's been running for the White House for 6 years. He, and the LDS Church have mega bucks. The Marriott Hotel Chain, for example, is a Mormon corporation; just to name one. And, the Primary season proved he will stoop to anything to win. Unlike McCain, he just might be capable of getting as "down and dirty" as the DemocRATS. And, I must say, it's kinda refreshing to see a Pubbie who will not bend over for the street-wise Dems like most Republicans do. Maybe there are some 'nads inside the "Magic Underwear".

here the hell is Jim DeMint, Paul Ryan, Sarah Palin............? No, the Conservatives in the GOP don't have the balls to run so we're stuck with a bunch of losers (like Rick Perry who is as dumb as a friggin' coal bucket)

I have a theory about that. Whether due to cowardice and/or cold political calculation, I think the conservative big hitters didn't want to spend 24/7 fundraising to counter Mitt and his smear machine. If just one of this set: Palin, DeMint, Thune, etc. would have run, I think that the ABR vote which was probably 70-80% of the Republican voters would have coalesced around that person and wiped Romney off the map.

I think that Rick Perry underestimated how much he'd be affected by the painkillers for his back surgery. He might not be Winston Churchill in oratory but he's not that bad.

I think the ones that annoy me the most are the conservatives who have thrown in the towel and have just resigned themselves to Romney. Stand by your principles and take the fight to the convention. Romney hasn't clinched the nomination yet, so let's not surrender. Some things are worth standing up for and IMO, political conservatism is one of them. Some people who should be ashamed of themselves are handing over the keys to the Titanic to our modern-day Edward Smith.

“WE, THE CONSERVATIVE WING OF THE GOP, DESERVE MOST OF THE BLAME.”

If we had any say in the day to day operations and long term direction of the GOP I would agree. We do not, and I submit nor will we ever. The -purpose- of the GOP is to be a hole in the conservatives’ bucket. No doubt many will dispute that, but “the stupid party” appears very canny indeed if one viewsd them from the perspective of deliberate saboteurs; a Fifth Column of the Progressives.

“I’d vote for a 3-legged, sh** eating dog before I’d vote for Obama, “

So would I!

But I won’t vote for Romney.

The Warren Jeffords grenade was lit by Hillary in early 2008 who thought she would get to run against Mitt.

Well, the Mormon scandals have nothing on the Evangelicals? Do you remember Jimmy Swaggart and Jim Bakker? I could name more, but, no use.

Who says I have to support either of these two candidates? The GOPe?

There are a number of third-party candidates running, or one could always stay home.

That’s a vote for Obama. But, do whatever your conscience dictates you do. You only have to answer to yourself.....

.....and your grandchildren.

I’m a native Texan. We’ve had Rick Perry in office, in some capacity, for 25 years; kept there by the GOP machine. Dude was dumb before he ever had back surgery.

And I don’t care what you do, but your behavior, as evidenced on this thread, is not warranted, under any circumstances. Who do you “think” you are telling a person who disagree with you to go to DU?

It’s petulant and puerile in its substance.

Age is no substitute for reason. You think that age gives you the right to behave the way you are?

If anything, it only demonstrates a complete lack of maturity on your part.

And who do you think you are telling me what I’m thinking or trying to do? I’m not trying to force anyone to give up their conservative values and I resented you assuming that you knew my intent.

Now it’s supposed to be my fault because you “resented” my interpretation of what you wrote?

Better get your reading glasses on...

Here, in your own words...
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/2868995/posts?page=72#72

Your “intent” was made clear when you tried to smear any who politely disagree; (In your own words... “Now, go on over to the DU with the other B. Hussein Obama supporters and Marxist Muslims.”) and then ramp it up into a flame war.

Why don’t you go and post to one of your other pro-Romney sycophants? It’ll be less stressful and you won’t get twisted up in trying to remember what you wrote.
