That is pathetic, there is no basis to it at all.
Common sense scares the left.
Now I do see things posted calling out the President for being a Racist and a Bigot.
The left doesn’t need facts or reality.
Can Jim sue for libel?
Wow. The left made some nasty comments and NR caved. Spine and cahones are sadly missing.
Wow! I didn’t know that Elspeth Reeve even had that much clout! She da man!
Remember the Baghdad Diarist?
Remember Scott Thomas Beauchamp, that soldier who wrote candidly about the dehumanizing effects of the war for The New Republic while pursuing a passionate affair with the TNR intern fact-checking his pieces until the conservablogosphere began campaigning to get him shitcanned?
Hmmmm, now just who was that TNR intern having a "passionate affair" with Scott, while fact-checking (NOT) his pieces?
Why, I believe it's Elspeth Reeve herself!
Why? The left has lied about FR before. We ignore their tempest in a teapot. You should see the lies on wikipedia about FR. Made from whole cloth.
That sounds like they are “union”....
Most tribal garb would be mixed. The indians that Washington encountered at the Forks of the Ohio after he was sent to warn the French they were invading an English claim, were dressed very much like the backwoodsmen who were with him. The indians were already deep into trade, and not being stupid, they learned early on to prefer wollens to buckskin. The English likewise used indian gear that was as useful.
Nothing out of the ordinary after I saw the shot......not any worse than his one where he himself dressed in muslim garb...... And lets not forget Michelle always trying to wear her african garb...she really is in dire need of someone to guide her in proper dress for a first lady.
National Review Online got 850K.
Freerepublic.com got 930K.
Might not be a bad thing they let him go...always greater opportunities when truth is spoken.
But they did fire Derbyshire. See Post 55.
But I also know that when it comes to women and minorities, all Republicans are held to a different code of conduct. I reluctantly acknowledge political reality. Pretending otherwise is what gets us in trouble.
Why can't we push Congress to do likewise with Obama?
Isn't that the truth!
But I think this is also about feeding the race war Obaba wants......anything seemingly that can be tied to race is up for grabs. MAke it all you want in their minds.
I am feeling like running away from my own country!....I've never been so miserable in my life with all these rules and regulations about speech etc. ....it's well beyond insanity now!
LOL...oh that was funny....true ..but funny...LoL
And unfortunate for us. I laugh at it too. But I’m also angry.
Bravo! That’s the sort of news behind the news you rarely see anywhere but FR. Good job recalling that and confirming.
Well...you're obviously a racist.;-)
I'd say that 10b is life-saving advice based upon the past 50 or so years. I recall events in Cincinnati -- where I was in the 1960s -- of whites taking their usual routes home some of which went through the Avondale section.
Whites were dragged from their cars, beaten, and a few murdered. Some who were not killed were left with permanent scars.
So I hope this employee of the magazine is true to his convictions and fears not to drive through his city's black neighborhoods at all times this summer as Obama and his sons crank things up -- cause Obama been laudin' that martial law and suspended elections and that's what he's plannin' to do. I bet.
The one and only thing I ever saw even remotely racist here on FreeRepublic was back in July 2009 when the Obama girls were in France. As it turned out, it was liberal outside agitators who were posting the over-the-top comments and pictures. That thread was then pulled by the moderators. I've been reading FR regularly since shortly after 9/11 and started posting in February 2010. In that eleven years of observation, there's not been a taint of racism here aside from that one disruption from outsiders.
By definition, Conservatives can't be racist since individual liberty is at the core of our philosophy. And even as I post this, I see this reminder from the boss:
Please: NO profanity, NO personal attacks, NO racism or violence in posts.
That's the reality of FR: the premiere pro-God, pro-life, pro-gun and pro-liberty site on the entire web.
Mine is this one...
Must of been a caption this thread and missed it?
I have never seen a pic of obama with a bone through his nose on FR.
We have a mix of people on this site. You're right, race has never been an issue on FR.
Apparently it HAS been posted here. But a search shows that it’s mostly on liberal sites.
Freepers STOP IT MAN OH MAN ROFL
I have a problem with 10c but the rest 10 seems like good common sense.
“Only when blacks admit that they are disproportionally criminal will they begin to turn their lives around for the better.”
Of course, this is correct.
But I wonder if black people don’t already know that their community is falling apart?
I guess they do know it’s falling apart, but they are ready to remain convinced it’s the white man’s fault, or the police’s fault, or Bush’s fault. And, of course, the DEMS are more than ready to keep convincing them this is true.
To paraphrase Shakespeare put it: the fault is not in their stars, but in themselves.
I’m convinced the Atlantic pays for its articles by the word.
Dry, uninteresting and non-original.
Then again the author, Elspeth, has been fired for being a non-fact checking fact checker.
There was a pic of Obama posted in witch doctor garb with a bone in his nose. It was at the height of the Obamacare debate. But this raises the question: why is a pic of a black dude in African garb racist?
I don’t get that either. But logic and reason has nothing to do with it. And the left would like to forget that he’s half Caucasian.
What clan is that tartan of?I've no idea.
Is Elsbeth Reeve the dink pictured at the bottom right of the Trayvon collage, over `Associated Press National Review’?
He looks like a piece of work.
So it’s OK for persons of color to race-bait, but not OK for, uh, non-persons of color to speak the truth? Screw that ...
And all Democrats! :-)
“(9) A small cohort of blacksin my experience, around five percentis ferociously hostile to whites and will go to great lengths to inconvenience or harm us. A much larger cohort of blacksaround halfwill go along passively if the five percent take leadership in some event. They will do this out of racial solidarity, the natural willingness of most human beings to be led, and a vague feeling that whites have it coming.
“(10) Thus, while always attentive to the particular qualities of individuals, on the many occasions where you have nothing to guide you but knowledge of those mean differences, use statistical common sense:
“(10a) Avoid concentrations of blacks not all known to you personally.
“(10b) Stay out of heavily black neighborhoods.
“(10c) If planning a trip to a beach or amusement park at some date, find out whether it is likely to be swamped with blacks on that date (neglect of that one got me the closest I have ever gotten to death by gunshot).
“(10d) Do not attend events likely to draw a lot of blacks.
“(10e) If you are at some public event at which the number of blacks suddenly swells, leave as quickly as possible.”
Derbyshire’s statements quoted in the article are unremarkable in the sense that they are demonstrably true. (Even the “Rev.” Jesse Hi-Jackson would agree with many of them, just not on the record.)
The only thing remarkable about Derbyshire’s statements is that they were published. And we all know that while you can publicly promote infanticide, homosexuality, euthanasia, and expropriation of the wealth someone has worked for all their lives, and can loudly demean whites and Christians, the one great sin you can’t commit is to speak truthfully about racial differences, inherent differences or behavioral differences.
Commit that great sin and pantywaists like Rich Lowry will throw you overboard faster than you can say “white privilege studies.”
