Rick Santorum offers a winning message

Culture Challenge of the Week: The Truth About Rick Santorum

The challenge for any presidential candidate is to get his message out. For Rick Santorum, that has been an extra-tough challenge.

As the conservative standard-bearer, Rick has faced more than his share of antagonism and message-distortion from the liberal press. His response? To stand his ground and proclaim a bold message that resonates in the hearts of all Americans who actually get to hear it.

Rick is the “real deal” - a man open about his beliefs, authentic in living those convictions and compassionate to the plight of American families. And while he unfailingly supports the pro-life, pro-marriage values platform, his most powerful winning appeal may reside in how those values intersect with his understanding of sound economics.

In the recent Louisiana primary, Rick won not only conservative voters, but also moderate voters. Significantly, he won those voters for whom the economy matters most.

How did he garner that support? By communicating to Louisiana voters his bold economic plan - a plan often overlooked by press members eager to paint Rick as concerned “only” with social issues. The truth is that his economic views are why he is best poised to beat President Obama, because he understands that economics are woven into every aspect of our lives.

How to Save Your Family: Support Rick’s Economic Freedom Agenda

The media is hiding the fact that Rick is a champion of economic freedom - and that he understands better than any other candidate the root cause of poverty in America and our ever growing nanny-state. Little-known is the fact that he has the experience learned in the school of hard knocks in Congress and the Senate to know how to push through his bold economic agenda for our future.

“I will not vote for nor contribute to or support the spineless progressive known as Romney. “

Well, you are doing exactly what the democrats want you to do...congratulations on your principled stance. When Barack is re-elected I think you gave up your right to complain about it...you helped him get re-elected.

“Nice ... the political equivalent of the school yard punk asking the dweeb if he wants a punch in the face or a kick in the nuts.”

I am sorry for the issues you exude there, but to get back to the point we need to discuss...please tell me how helping the democrats stay in power is good for you and the conservative movement again? BTW, I am the real thing...a conservative through and through...And, I will support Romney with pleasure to throw the democrats out of office. Of course, I have children to think of so I am a little more motivated to see this country have a chance of restoring freedom...

That's utter bull-crap and you well know it. From the get go it was and is well known a vote for Romney was a vote for Obama...that has not changed...and the reasons for that being said from the beginning have not changed.

I will not support a baby killing candidate...not on my watch...nor one who has said they are one of the best friends the homosexual community could have....nor continue to enlarge our government and vote every liberal bill he can.....that is not going to happen.

You Romney voters can kiss my butt as some have said. If Obama wins it's because of Romney supporters both the GOP Elitists and those who continue to follow their lead.

You are allowing yourself to be a pawn for the democrats...try thinking rather than screaming your thoughts...you don’t even make sense right now!

Romney is pro-life...he learned (as did I) that the unborn is life. He also is a successful businessman who believes in free markets.

He is not perfect...none of them are, but he IS going to be the nominee and we have to decide whether we help the democrats or America...I choose to help America and will help Romney get elected...there is a huge difference between Romney and the democrats, don’t delude yourself.

“who believes in free markets”

Are you delusional? What is free market about Romneycare? Global warming cap n trade schemes? Indexing the minimum wage for inflation? Gasoline taxes (see Greg Mankiw)? Bailouts for banks?....on and on and on

Romney is no friend of free markets. He is big government through and through.

Frankly, if a stupid picture of a dog sleeping with a cat can go “viral” in minutes on a number of formats, I’m getting a little tired of hearing about candidates “not being able to get their message out” crap.

You cannot be a conservative and vote Romney....you can't have it both ways....so I'll just call you on the conservative part.

I can't imagine what you think Romney will do about the Democrates....he certainly has no spine to take them on...particularly because he's one of them.

Romney's running because he wants to be President...the next step of his suceessess in life because theirs no where else for him to go.

He's not about changing this nation...he's about filling a seat with all the lines drawn for him to fill in...and you can be certain he'll fill them neatly and tidy for the Democrates...his history in Mass. proves it and that will include any he appoints for the Supreme Court.

The man is a fraud as much as Obama is

You argue from the assumption that Romney is better. Nothing in his record or in his life or in his rhetoric makes that case to me.

He makes George W. look like Reagan and W. was a squishy moderate that gave us more spending than Bill Clinton with the help of the Romney types in Congress. How’d that work out for them? Huh? They got killed in 2006 and 2008.

And it was only true CONSERVATIVES, with the Tea Party, that took back the House. Not Romney moderate RINO types. And look at our thanks! RINO Speaker Boehner and Legacy Lover McConnell. Geez, what a waste.

Toss in Mitt Romney and we’ll get Obamacare-Lite and just become slaves a decade later than the Dems want.

Woo Hoo, what a choice! Guess I’ll have at least ten more years to find another country to move to before I bail out.

And thank God Romney agrees with Obama that Augusta should have women as members. What a leader. I was bowled away with his extremely articulate statement explaining his thinking in such detail. What a douchebag.

Why don’t you find out the real facts rather the hysterical concerns?

Clearly you are out of the loop ... Romney *is* a liberal. Putting an "R" behind one's name does not a conservative make. Calling Romney a conservative is like calling Benedict Arnold a patriot. "Please tell me how helping the democrats stay in power is good for you and the conservative movement again?" Some day you'll know enough to answer your own question; but for today you're just giving a high five to a turncoat with your "proud" vote. You're the "real deal" alright. I hope there's hope for you yet.

Read his positions as presented by a “neutral” third party. I am the real thing...that is why I KNOW that reelecting Obama and strengthening the democrats right now will result in horrible bloodshed within a few short years. This is not about some sporting event, it is the real thing. If our side loses we lose more than an election...think about it some and don’t be swayed by those who are confused by misguided principles.

You do know that link doesn’t help the cause don’t you? And please, oh enlightened one, explain exactly what you call hysterical concerns?

Are you going to now make a fool of yourself by proclaiming Romney would, in fact, be more conservative than George W. Bush?

He’s stated recently that he stands behind Romneycare. His campaign advisers are big government movers and shakers ala Greg “$2/gallon tax on gasoline” Mankiw and other assorted envirowhackos (http://spectator.org/archives/2012/03/07/romneys-pending-sell-out-on-gl). Romney himself stated DURING THIS CAMPAIGN that he supports indexing the minimum wage for inflation.

Romney talks free market. Walks big government.

“Are you going to now make a fool of yourself by proclaiming Romney would, in fact, be more conservative than George W. Bush?”

George W was/is one of the most conservative Presidents we have had and had the distinction of being the last American President we have had. Just because you do not understand freedom or free markets does not mean that the world is colored by your sunglasses...reality still exists you know. Romney is reasonably conservative...evidence that by the fact that so many conservatives are endorsing him. Go to this site and actually take a look at the facts:

I mean REALLY? This from your link under “Voting Record” on abortion alone:

Would be delighted to sign federal ban on all abortions. (Nov 2007) “How’s that a voting record?”

2005: Vetoed availability without Rx of morning-after pill. (Aug 2007) “Oh, only without a prescription which I’m sure are passed out like candy by school nurses.”

Defining mistake: supported abortion law despite opposing it. (Aug 2007) “Is he sleeping with John Kerrey?”

Would welcome overturning Roe v. Wade. (Mar 2007) “Again, that’s not a voting record. And then of course...”

Committed to not change law on abortion as Gov., and did not. (Mar 2007) “What a leader!”

Opposes Roe v Wade, but won’t tamper with abortion laws. (Dec 2006) “Again, did he get this one after pillow talk with John Kerrey?”

Vetoed emergency contraception for rape victims. (Jul 2005)
Endorsed legalization of RU-486. (Mar 2002) “What?”

Again, are you sure you aren’t confused as to what “help” is from a web link?

From what I can see those are Romney’s stated positions not actions that he took while in office. Big deal. I can put up hundreds of Romney big government links. Like I said he talks free market. Walks big government.

“George W was/is one of the most conservative Presidents we have had and had the distinction of being the last American President we have had. “

Okay, first your a birther. Fine. As if that isn’t moot already.

Second, do you seriously think W was one of the most conservative? How? Didn’t raise tax rates like his daddy? Is that it? Medicare Part D was a HUGE liberal idea and waste of money. No Child Left Behind was written by Ted Kennedy (and the Dems now hate the program because it was a talking point and never wanted it) and wasted millions. He SHOVED illegal immigration down our throats and wondered why they lost Congress in 2006.

And son, I’ve been living in the free markets longer than you can understand them. So don’t try and tell me a “conservative” like Bush didn’t say “I have to destroy the free market in order to save it” and illegally bailed out the auto unions and big Democrat hack bankers. Yeah, he really understood capitalism.

I guess 2008 is a blur in your mind and you thought McCain was a genius.

And don’t act so pompous as to throw out your “list” of conservative backers of Romney since it’s clear our definition of conservative differs drastically.

Thank goodness life has gotten busier, and I don’t have much time to spend here now. THE TARDS ARE HERE! Claiming Bush and Romney are and were conservative free marketeers. ROFL.
