Trayvon-Zimmerman Evidence (A Primer for Public School Students)
Butterdezillion's Blog | 04-09-12 | Butterdezillion

Posted on 04/09/2012 7:21:24 PM PDT by butterdezillion

Public school teachers are being told to talk about the Trayvon case. If we have just one student in each classroom who knows the facts and is confident to speak the truth, we have access (through that person) to inform people who may never see anything but what the MSM wants them to hear. I've played secretary and assembled the info that we Freepers know and put it into a format that a student can read, to prepare for that opportunity. The content will be in the first post so links will be clickable (hopefully).

Please spread this information far and wide. Add your own links to it if you like, or take bits and pieces - whatever is most helpful, as long as it's kept accurate.

The Trayvon-Zimmerman Evidence

Everybody loves a good mystery. My family has been watching reruns of Law & Order. Detectives Olivia Benson and Elliott Stabler go wherever the evidence leads them. Hunches help them to find evidence, but without the evidence itself our Constitutional government doesn’t allow an arrest. The cops can’t just arrest people for no reason. There always has to be probable cause first. Evidence is everything.

After various twists and turns, a current “mystery” looks thusly: Trayvon Martin, a black 17-year-old in a hoodie, had been to a store to buy some Skittles and was on the way back to the house of his father’s girlfriend, where his father had sent him to serve out a 10-day suspension from his Miami high school for “being in an unauthorized area” the very day of his death (but a tweet from his brother suggests it was for assaulting a bus driver) – the latest in a string (1) of 3 suspensions within the last year officially involving potential drug use or dealing (as supported by tweets (2) from his customer) and graffiti (since the school made no police referral based on the jewelry and suspected burglary tool found in his backpack when he was caught for graffiti) - to “disconnect (3) and get his priorities straight”. Trayvon tweeted (4) late last year under the name “T33ZY_TAUGHT_M3”, including one that said, “Plzz shoot da #mf dat lied 2 u!”. The photo uploaded for him, taken when he was 15, showed him (with his unique arm tattoo) making a vulgar gesture. After one month on that account he switched to an account under the name “NO_LIMIT_NIGGA”, the first tweet being “NEW NAME, NEW BACKGROUND, NEW TWEETCON, I MAKE CHANGS B4 NEW YEARS!” His tweets in the last month are available here (5).

Hispanic 28-year-old George Zimmerman was on his way home from getting groceries when he saw Trayvon. Zimmerman had headed up a Neighborhood Watch in response to a string of burglaries in the area and (according to his father’s account (6) of what Zimmerman told him afterwards) thought it suspicious that a young person he didn’t know and appeared to be high was walking behind the townhouses but not on the street or sidewalk. He called (7) the the police and reported what he saw. Though selectively edited out (8) of the recording played on NBC, GZ said, “This guy looks like he’s up to no good, or he’s on drugs or something. It’s raining and he’s just walking around, looking about.” Only after being specifically asked by the dispatcher whether the person was white, black, or Hispanic did Zimmerman say, “He looks black.” The dispatcher asked if Zimmerman was following the young man and said they didn’t need him to follow. Zimmerman continued walking to try (9) to find a street sign to give an exact location. At the end of that call Zimmerman said he was going to his vehicle to go home.

Within minutes (10) there was a call (11) to 911 from a neighbor who said there was a fight. Screams for help were heard in the background. According to the incident report (12), when police arrived they found Zimmerman with a bloody nose, a gash on the back of his head, and wet and grassy shirt – and he kept saying, “Nobody would help me”. His gun had a full magazine (13) and no bullet in the chamber – which suggests (14) there was a struggle for the gun, since the next bullet was stopped from entering the chamber. One shell was found. They attempted and failed to resuscitate Trayvon, who had a bullet wound to the chest. They made sure Zimmerman was fit to travel, handcuffed him, had the Sanford rescue squad give first aid for his injuries, and took him to the station for questioning, in addition to canvassing the area for witnesses and taking sworn statements from all witnesses they found.

Zimmerman claimed he shot in self-defense. According to the police, all the witnesses agreed (15) (although one witness, Mary Cutcher, later appeared on TV and radio claiming the opposite (16) of what was in her sworn statement, according to the police). Zimmerman’s injuries and the 911 recording corroborated that there was a fight. The person who called 911 said (18)that Trayvon was on top of Zimmerman and that Zimmerman was the one who was screaming for help. Since there was no evidence to refute Zimmerman’s claim that he had shot in self-defense and no probable cause for an arrest, the police let Zimmerman go, though the lead investigator had wanted to arrest him.

Since that time, the police have had an opportunity to forensically analyze the scene of the crime for ballistics, listen to the recordings, and see the autopsy report for Trayvon. They presumably have access to Zimmerman’s medical records as well as the reports from their own EMT’s. Although ABC apparently deliberately covered (19) it up with a graphic on video in order to claim otherwise, video footage of Zimmerman when he arrived at the police department showed a gash (20) on the back of his head, still visible after being treated by the EMT’s – even on the blurred video but inrrefutably visible on enhanced (21) video, which ABC could have provided the public but didn’t. And his neighbor says (22) he saw him with swelling and bandages the next day. The police have repeatedly insisted (23) that Zimmerman’s claims are consistent with the evidence they have. Evidence available to the public, including reports, audio, and video recordings, is posted here (24).

A large funeral was held for Trayvon, and about 2 weeks after the shooting the Martin family appeared on CNN claiming that the shooting was a racist hate crime that police were covering up. It was implied that an innocent little kid in a hoodie, with nothing but Skittles in his hand, had been singled out for scrutiny by a racist white for simply walking down the street, and that if Zimmerman had just minded his own business Trayvon would still be alive. That is still the story being claimed by large portions of the public, including Barack Obama, Rick Santorum, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, former Black Panther Congressman Bobby Rush, and thousands of protesters demanding the arrest of Zimmerman. The New Black Panther Party has a $10,000 bounty for Zimmerman and claims to have a posse of 1,000 blacks looking for him. Zimmerman is hiding for his own safety. His family has received thousands of death threats and after Spike Lee tweeted a mistaken address for George Zimmerman the elderly couple at that address has had to live in a hotel because of death threats made to them.

If the police department is telling the truth about the evidence they have it is clear that Zimmerman shot in self-defense. The Martin family knows that, and at this point they are claiming that the police are fabricating evidence. The 911 recording, public statements (25) by the person who called 911, and video footage showing the gash on the back of Zimmerman’s head all corroborate what the police say they have as evidence. The Martin family’s attorney accepts the genuineness of the video footage – calling it (26) the “smoking gun” proof that Zimmerman had no gash, since there is no blood showing at that point. But the gash is visible in that video even though the blood had been cleaned up by EMT’s before that.

Those who are threatening violence to George Zimmerman and his family are wanting to take the law into their own hands. To this point, nobody in the Obama Administration has condemned the threats of violence or “vigilante justice”. Their silence is stunning. Former DOJ prosecutor, J Christian Adams, has said that a President injecting race into a criminal investigation is unprecedented, and the failure to rebuke the Black Panthers’ bounty on Zimmerman is chilling lawlessness.

The thousands of protesters who are calling for the arrest of George Zimmerman are either advocating that our police abandon the principle of probable cause – the need to have EVIDENCE of a crime before arresting someone – or else they are relying on claims of a vast police conspiracy including fabrication of police reports, witness statements, 911 recording, and police video that even the Martin family’s attorney accepts as genuine. The media finds nothing unseemly about large numbers of people claiming a police conspiracy that would require fabrication of official video and audio as well as affidavits and police/forensic reports.

An independent investigation by the state attorney has been authorized, to audit the police department’s handling of this case. The US Department of Justice will also be reviewing the evidence – not an encouraging thought after the obstruction of justice (including alteration of evidence and withholding critical evidence), perjury, and refusals to honor Congressional subpoenas shown by AG Eric Holder’s DOJ in the Fast & Furious investigation, and after political DOJ operatives dismissed an already-won case of what career prosecutors at the DOJ have called the most blatant instance of voter intimidation they’ve ever seen – by members of the New Black Panther Party in Philadelphia, PA. AG Holder has insisted that Blacks cannot be guilty of racial crimes and that he will not prosecute what he calls “my people”.

Barack Obama has said that this incident should spark some soul-searching. Yes, it should.

The next article in this series will address some serious questions raised by the apparent facts in this particular case. The final article will place this case into a larger context that raises even more serious questions.

If you know any public school students who could be a voice for truth in their classrooms, this resource could help them when their teacher brings up the Trayvon case.

I’m having troubles with my blog; my computer freezes up almost constantly when I try to go on there. I’m trying to post a 3-part series.

The first (this one) is about the facts/evidence of the case.

The second will be about questions the facts/evidence of this case raise.

And the third will be to place this case into the larger context showing how Obama and Holder (especially) are using Sub-Saharan Supremacy and the terrorism associated with it to subvert America. It won’t be complete by any means but it will be a starting place to make the connections between various seemingly-isolated news stories.

Did you leave out the inconsistencies in Tryvon’s girl friend’s statements plus the fact she claimed she called him back but there was no answer. Yet she did not call Martin’s parents given Martin’s concern about being followed added to the fact Martin never answered her call nor did the police on scene.

Don’t forget the funeral director inadvertantly revealed that other than the bullet wound, Trayvon had no wounds on his body.

You should recheck this: “the end of that call Zimmerman said he was going to his vehicle to go home”

Also, add GZ met with investigators at the scene the next day to go over what happened.

There’s only one thing to focus on: the cell phones.

BOTH Martin and Zimmerman were on cell phones when they were watching each other. BOTH told their respective parties (Martin his girlfriend, who testified as to his statements, and Zimmerman to the police) that they had LOST each other.

At that point, the incident was OVER.

HOWEVER - Zimmerman did NOT know where Martin was, because Martin ran away.

BUT MARTIN KNEW WHERE ZIMMERMAN WAS, BECAUSE HE WAS WALKING ABCK TO HIS CAR.

Therefore Martin - and ONLY Martin - must have attacked Zimmerman, because only Martin could - because he knew where Zimmerman was, and Zimmerman didn not know where Martin was.

So - Martin was free to leave, and did not, and instead circled back around and attacked Zimmerman.

End of case.

There’s a lot that didn’t get in there just because there’s so much. Lots of discrepancies & stories changing when the witnesses became public (and thus subject to intimidation). Do we even know if the police found his cellphone, Skittles, or a bottle of Arizona tea?

I can’t edit here, but if I can ever get access to my own blog I could make changes to the post there and that could be used as a more up-to-date and complete version. Do you have a link for the funeral director’s statement? I could add that pretty easily (if I can actually control my own blog. sigh)

Maybe in addition to what I had planned for the 2nd article in the series I could have a list of discrepancies. I could collect what the good folks here know and have links for, and put it in that post.

I’ve always thought that FR is the best investigative place on the web but that it would be really helpful if somebody acted as a secretary to summarize the conclusions and/or evidence discussed on a particular issue so people could easily keep abreast of all the latest developments.

Excellent point. It’s definitely clear from GZ’s 911 call that he didn’t know where Martin was - which would make it impossible for him to attack Martin.

At one point I think GZ’s dad questioned whether Trayvon actually was on the phone with his girlfriend. Made me wonder if there is any evidence besides her testimony (which has discrepancies in it, as another poster on this thread mentioned) that proves he was on the phone with her.

I hesitated to put anything about Trayvon having gone to the store to get Skittles also, because although that’s the story we’ve been told by the Trayvon people, as far as I know the police haven’t confirmed that they found any of those items on Trayvon.

The paragraph about Trayvon’s school suspensions is somewhat confusing too - partly because the stories seemed mixed-up. The Martins’ lawyer referred to 3 suspensions but would only talk about 2 of them, and it wasn’t clear which one was the latest one. A lot of discrepancies in all of it.

ABC said in their article on the girlfriend stated that they had verified the time she was on the phone.
She states in that interview that TM was the first to speak. He asked “why are you following me?”

GZ answered with a question “what are you doing in this neighborhood?”

IOW TM was the first to confront even in the GF (deeDee’s) statement.

Ah, the “witness” whose story changed with whatever new information she had about what the cops already knew...

I hope they bust her for something. Maybe libel. A person can’t just go around lying about something they already claimed to tell the police the truth about.

I must have been busy with something when the AG ordered the stuff taken down because I didn’t know that. Do you have a link for that, or where it was made clear why they had to take the stuff down? I’m thinking about collecting a list of discrepancies, and it sounds like this Mary C is full of ‘em (as well as being full of something else too. lol) It’s disgusting.

I decided to post this today because somebody this morning had posted that public school teachers were told to talk about Trayvon and I realized that it could be a huge opportunity, if we can let our students know the evidence so they can inform their peers. I knew that time was of the essence so I just had to go with what I had on hand, from helping my son know how to respond to his teacher. And then I’ve been battling my computer. (sigh) So any help people can give me, to give a clear picture of the evidence as well as the disinformation and discrepancies would be great.

Or if somebody would like to take what I’ve written as a base, tweak it (by adding or correcting info, or adding links, changing wording to make it clearer, etc), and then post the improved version that would be fantastic. I just want the truth to get out there, and if we can have it in an easily-digestible form that will help our students explain to others.

I hadn’t seen that. Thanks for the link. So he did buy Skittles and tea according to security video from the 7-11. The timing of the purchase seems to validate GZ’s claim that Martin was loitering in the heavy rain rather than just walking home.

This also has links to the interviews by GZ’s dad.

Helpful stuff. Thanks!

Is Mary C the one who claimed that she heard a “young child” screaming?

I can’t believe how stupid that person must think we are. Neither Trayvon nor Zimmerman would sound like a young child, and Trayvon probably would have busted out her teeth for suggesting it.

On the 9-11 tape I thought it sounded like a woman at first - or an animal getting ripped up by a coyote. It is a sound full of shear fear.

But seeing as the 7-11 tape shows Trayvon buying Skittles and ice tea, all the other evidence against him is moot, ‘cuz he’s innocent.

Take notes about the Trayvon case?

If so, and it’s supposed to be a future project, at least it sounds like the project might avoid the pitfall of a “rush to judgment”. Taking notes sounds more evidence-based than just repeating the standard media drivel. Hopefully some good can come from this “project”.

I guess that goes to show that a scream full of sheer fear doesn’t sound at all like the normal voice of the person.

When in the process does the Martin family even claim Trayvon would have screamed like that? If Martin and Zimmerman had this exchange that both Martin’s girlfriend and Zimmerman say they had and then Zimmerman suddenly shot Martin, when would Martin have screamed? If Zimmerman really had Martin at gunpoint and Martin screamed, Zimmerman would have either run thinking he was busted or else he would have shot him instantly to get him to shut up.

lol.

Nobody in their right mind would think that lil darlin’ was up to no good.

Know what this whole thing reminds me of? It reminds me of the “Praying Imams” story out of of the Minneapolis airport several years ago. Remember the story about the imams who were said to just be praying when some Islamophobes got scared and the imams were ushered off the plane in shame? Then the eyewitnesses reported that these “praying imams” had actually been shouting “Death to America!”, had moved to the seats right by the emergency exit, and had requested seat belt extenders that they never used.

I don’t know if it was ever determined whether it was a dry run for a terrorist attack (to find out what would raise alarms) or if it was a staged plan to sue people for being “Islamophobes” if they reported suspicious activity. The suit, IIRC, was against both the airline for “embarrassing” them by kicking them off the plane AND against the people who reported the suspicious behavior, for “discrimination”. IIRC, Congress eventually passed a law to prevent lawsuits intended to harass people for reporting suspicious behavior.

Those Muslims knew that if a person could be bankrupted by rich Saudis suing these little peons for “discriminating” (reporting suspicious behavior) they could make people too scared to raise any alarms. Thus they could disable all the alarms that would otherwise get in their way.

The Black Panthers are another Muslim group - associated with the Muslim terrorist group Hezbollah - and they want to do the same thing. It’s ironic. Every time another white person gets attacked by black “youths” in response to Trayvon, it makes it all the more absurd for them to claim that people should not be afraid of young black men. That is obviously not what they are trying to prove.

What they are trying to prove is that people SHOULD be afraid of young black men - so afraid that they shut their mouths and let the hoods do whatever they please without so much as a peep in response.

Just like those “praying imams” wanted. They wanted people to be afraid of lawsuits that would bankrupt anybody who reported suspicious behavior. These thugs don’t have the money to do that, but they can attack and kill so that’s what they threaten for anybody who gets in their way. It’s patently transparent.

Reminds me of my daughter shouting progressively more loudly, “I’m NOT MAD!!!!” lol. Somehow the words she was saying were negated by the way she said it.

Thanks for the summary, lots of rumors in schools. My 16 year old stepdaughter and I were driving last week and she brought this up. Couldn’t believe what she said...”I heard he was shot in the back twice, and when he was screaming for help, he shot him again”.
Again, these were rumors from other kids, but there is some serious lack of information out there.

My son’s English teacher gave the kids a copy of an editorial from the NYT - a black author basically trying to say that blacks are assumed to be “up to no good” for just walking down the street. They were supposed to answer factual questions about what the editorial claimed and then give their response about what this event means to them.

My son came home and said, “Mom, I think I’m going to need your help figuring out how to respond to this.”

I asked him what kind of discussion they had in class about it. He said he was one of only two who weren’t gushing on about “That’s terrible! Nobody should get shot just for walking down the street!” The other was a fellow trombonist who he had already talked to about the real story and how the media had lied about the evidence, so he recognized what was going on in the NYT editorial right away.

I work with a guy who teaches gun safety classes. A big guy who has told me about training his daughter in self-defense. We were talking about when karate moves would be needed above and beyond a good right hook and I said if somebody was armed karate would be helpful. He agreed, and it went into a discussion about the Trayvon situation. I think he’s a democrat, based on some things he’s said, so I was a little afraid of what he’d say but after I mentioned that Zimmerman had a busted nose and gash on the back of his head from having his head banged on the ground, he agreed that Zimmerman would have been dead meat without the gun. If a guy is going after your head, to bash it in, you have to either end the fight right now or there’s going to be brain damage so you can’t end the fight at all.

I think when people have genuine facts they reach reasonable conclusions. Unless they have a strong motive not to see the truth.

I hesitated to put anything about Trayvon having gone to the store to get Skittles also, because although that’s the story we’ve been told by the Trayvon people, as far as I know the police haven’t confirmed that they found any of those items on Trayvon.

It would have been easy for the police to check with the store to see whether or not Trayvon was there, yet I haven't heard anything about that.

Its self defense, its what I tell my kids regardless of any liberal propaganda they were forced to repetitiously chant at school.

Public school teachers are being told to talk about the Trayvon case.

One of my daughters had this discussion in class last week. She got SO ticked off at the idiocy of her classmates she almost walked out of the class.

Then again, she's always been taught that guns are tools, not toys, so she respects them while realizing they do have their uses.

Her senior project was on concealed carry on campus....the PRO side of course. :-)

Thanks so much for the well-organized info!

I'll be showing this to her later. The subject is sure to come up in the classroom again.

Cboldt has done yeoman's work using mostly original sources, not just news reports, to gather the known facts, but they are scattered around FR. I have pinged him to this thread in case he might want to comment.

The 911 calls are still available on the Internet, although not in the City of Sanford website any longer.

I am convinced that no matter what happens, there will be riots, and I am particularly concerned. My dear husband was caught in the middle of the Rodney King riots in Los Angeles and now works part time in Oakland. It's supposed to rain for several days in Oakland, for which I am very thankful.

IIRC, it was about 4 minutes 20 seconds between Z’s first call and the shot. Z reported M was walking and running during that time. Looking at a map of the apartment complex, it should only have taken M a couple minutes to get home if he’d walked straight there. It’s obvious he back tracked on Z. He made the choice rather than go home to instead confront Z. Did M’s gf say she heard him ask Z if he had a problem?

Still looking for facts to support this allegation.

I spent one whole day discussing the Terri Schiavo case with my classes. I still have kids (now grown) come up and say they remember that day. It was an eye opener to them.
