President Barack Obama is coming to the Motor City for a $1 million pizza party being thrown for him compliments of Denise Ilitch, daughter of Little Caesars founders Mike and Marian Ilitch. Ilitch is opening her home April 18 for the fundraiser where movers and shakers are being asked to pony up thousands to add to his re-election coffer while getting a chance to rub shoulders with the most powerful man on the planet. Im honored to have been asked, by the Obama campaign to host, Ilitch said of the event she and husband, Jim Scalici, will hold at their Metro Detroit home. . . . When asked what she planned to serve, she said: Pizza! But, well be serving it on sterling silver plates!
The price of admission isnt for those on a budget. $40,000 buys access to the cocktail reception, formal photo with Obama and dinner. $10,000 buys dinner and a photo.

Bye bye Little Caesars. Not that I ate much pizza from them since high school.
Glad I don’t like their pizza. As with most big Pizza chains, their pizza used to be pretty good, but has went WAY downhill during recent years.
We cook home made pizzas now, which are FAR better. I know of some local pizza places that blow away the national chains in quality too.
You’d probably get more taste if you just eat the cardboard box the little Ceasers pizza comes in.
Basically the worst pizza in the world.
$1,000,000 worth of $5 (for a LARGE) pizza will do wonders to promote anti-obesity./s
So now I guess Michelle Antoinette’s new slogan will be “Let them eat pizza”, eh?
At opensecrets.com it looks like the family gives to all parties. The patriarch, Michael, gave sizable chunks to Giuliani and Romney. His wife likes to give $28K to the Republican Senatorial COmmittee. Most of the rest goes to local pols of all parties (levin, Stupak) and movers (Rangel, Schumer). The family also seems to actually help the local poor as well as legit charities elsewhere (ND flood victims).
These folks also own local sports franchises, so they may be addicted to gov. assistance propping up Detroit as it circles the drain.
More reason not to ever patronize Little Ceasar’s crap.
