newt can’t win with the delegate count right now, look it up.

He can win at the convention. Newt has no conservative principles? Newt has no history of conservative victories? what is going on?

if you listened to levin - he has answered that

personally, i will have to go with romney over a big government liar like noot

NO conservative mind would do what noot does - throw out ‘big ideas’ that are ALWAYS government ‘solutions’

OMG, you actually think romney is better than Newt... in terms of consrvative principles... conservative accomplishments... you can't mean that...

Things have changed in less than 2 weeks, tbf. I think Mark’s acknowledging that fact and is now going to “Plan B”; nothing wrong with that. Even Patton had a “Plan B” if “Plan A” crapped-out. (My Dad was with him right thru the Battle of The Bulge, thru Bastogne, Market Garden etc, until he was shot/wounded by a sniper.)

He’s pragmatic: whatever and whomever it takes to beat 0bummer&Co. Too many I’ve run into here would rather stay home or skip the top-line vote and vote for the downstream candidates, thinking that they’ll “punish the GOP-e”, but in reality all they’re doing is guaranteeing 0bummer&Co another 4 years. That’s going to kill us all and destroy America. We’ll never get her back unless we get that POS out of office, at all costs.

I sympathize with you, tbf, as I went thru all this *reality* several months ago, when I made the decision to support Newt, but knew in my heart-of-hearts, that Romney was going to be the nominee. Mark does too.

Six hours. Six hours. In six hours, he has decided Newt doesan't have any conservative bona fides, Newt is not conservative and we have to settle for Romney. why couldn't he just as well be using his airwaves to rouse the base around Newt, the last Conservative standing, and give romney and gop-E a run for their money? Six hours? I can't belive this is happening...

I guess on the bright side...wuith the Black Panthers, Eric Holder, Al Sharpton et all acting like complete fools....we will be too busy with the upcoming race wars in this country, to worry about having Obama Light elected!

The latest Pennsylvania polling from PPP and Rasmussen had Romney within the margin of error.

If Santorum wanted to continue his political career he had to exit or face the ignominy of losing his home state. Unable to win even as substantially as Newt did in GA, and no where near Mitt's 72% in MA, he blinked.

Unfortunately for us all, having "taken one for the [GOPe] team" and helped Romney win, he could return in 2016 with the mantle of "it's my turn" as first loser McCain did 2008 and Romney has in 2012.

all this talk about conservative principles, newt has excellent conservative principles, and Levin and Limbaugh act like he's not even in the race..

Newt was my choice too......but come on man... You say Levin and Limbaugh act like Gingrich isn't even in the race, but Newt himself acts this way lately. He's been saying Romney is the likely nominee for days now, Newt's campaign is flat broke (in the hole 4.5 million), he has not been able to win over GOP primary voters, etc. I mean, it is what it is.

What seems to be happening is you (among other people) are shocked, yet again, that conservative and Republican standard bearers are rallying behind the GOP nominee. This happens every time and will always happen. Politics is as much about defeating the opposition party as it is about advancing your own ideology. We have a 2 party system with NO ability to form coalition governments. As such, we will very rarely have an opportunity to vote for someone in a national general election campaign we are truly excited about. Levin and Limbaugh are simply being pragmatic, and they are right.

meanwhile, Romney didn’t win Michigan, he tied in delegates until the establishment changed the rules after the fact. Santo got a lot of votes in MI from Reagan Dems.

this should really give you all something to make fun on... only I don't care. I come from a military family that has sacrificed much. I know what America means, I know what liberty means. And I know Newt believes in and will fight for America's liberty..

Newt make history again

Did you know Lincoln was nominated as the Republican candidate through a brokered convention? The favorite at the time was William H. Seward. Lincoln was regarded as a dark horse contender with no chance of victory. However, he won the nomination on the third ballot, and as we all know, went on to win the presidency that November.

Other Republican pr...esidents who were nominated at a brokered convention include: Rutherford Hayes (7th ballot) James Garfield (36th ballot!)Warning Harding (10th ballot) Dwight D. Eisenhower (2nd ballot) The closest we have come to a brokered convention in modern times was in 1976, when neither President Gerald R. Ford nor challenger Ronald Reagan arrived at the convention with a majority of the delegates, but Ford rallied to a win on the first ballot. The bottom line? Republican brokered conventions result in presidential wins!

Where’d you get “6 hours”? I didn’t hear him say Newt doesn’t have any Conservative values? Is there an audio clip of Mark saying that? Did he say it on another show? He didn’t say it since he’s been on, or at least I didn’t hear him say it.
