Jon Lovitz may have been a comedian since he was 15, but for him, a prank involving maple syrup was no laughing matter.
Lovitz took to his Twitter account to decry swastikas and “Jew” written in maple syrup on the front walkway of a childhood friend’s home in Northridge. Three girls, who admitted to what the Los Angeles Police called an ill-advised prank, have been permanently expelled from their school, Nobel Middle School, Lovitz tweeted Tuesday.
The prank, which also included feces left on the family’s doorstep and toilet paper on the property’s trees, was discovered April 3. The family did not want to be identified.

The girls who committed this appalling act, went to the same school as my grandaughters, before they were expelled.

I am kinda surprised there was any outrage at the Anti-Semitic act done and none for the fact that the kids had access to such a dangerous, sugar laden food. This is California after all. Maybe this would have been a little less offensive for the locals if the kids did this in carrot sticks.
We have heard that one of the girl’s mothers, actually drove them to the ‘scene’ at 2am to commit this hateful act.

Even though this heinous, pretty disgusting and hateful, I don’t see how the school should be involved except to keep an eye on the three bully girls. However, this should be checked by the police like as a form of vandalism.
Back with the school, even though the school should not punish the three girls for the act, I don’t see anything wrong with them harshly dealing with them as soon as they do something at school. An analogy would be like with OJ Simpson when he got arrested, tried and sentenced for what he did in Nevada, I am sure indirectly, the two murders in LA played a role on enhancing the sentence he got even though it cannot be documented.

Yeah, you might not have heard, but this big thing happened in living memory over in Europe,,i think it was especially in Germany. People wearing swastikas were writing “Jew” on the homes and businesses of Jews.
It was some kind of targeting and intimidation thing.

How horrible! I hope proper punishment is meted out to the stupid girls who did this! I pray that the victims can recover from such a vicious act that no one in their right mind could call a “prank”!!!

Im with you. I think a little public shaming from some WWII vets is what they need. I dont see a crime beyond a misdemeanor, as much as i see kids with a complete absence of education regarding our national history.

Maybe I'm wrong but I'm guessing that the child victims were female and a lot of this has to do with the spiteful acts that "queen bee" girls inflict on other girls. So anti-semitism was just part of it. Am I far off?

When my son was in junior high in California(98-01)he was required to be ‘Muslim’ for a day. This assignment was not put into a memo to the parents. I didn’t know about it until he mentioned it when he was in college. Do California kids now have to be ‘Muslim’ for a week? Or were you being facetious? (I didn’t see any mention of it in the text of the article)
