DETROIT -
A Detroit woman's confrontation Thursday morning with a group of intruders in her home on the city's west side ended with one of them being shot dead.
It all unfolded in the 17500 block of Appoline at about 10 a.m.
Family members of the 38-year-old woman told Local 4 she heard the men break into her home and found them in her kitchen, handling a gun they had found in her purse.
The family members said one of the men tried to go upstairs but was shot in the head by the woman, who used another gun she had in her home.
Three other men ran off, two of them got into a white Ford Taurus.
Police sources confirm the family’s account and took the woman in for further questioning.
She was released back to her family a couple of hours later.
Her family also said she has a concealed weapons permit and she knows how to shoot.
Neighbors were shocked but said the woman did what she had to do.
“There was no other way. It was either her or him," said John Swanson.

This woman deserves a medal.
But the libs say it would be better if she had just let them Rape and Rob and Kill her rather than use an evil gun.

A while back liberals were complaining about the rising number of defensive “murders” taking place in Detroit.
This is why I’m not as pessimistic about the future of Detroit as most people are.
I’m only sad that she didn’t get head shots on the other vermin who invaded her home ... now, someone somewhere will have to deal with the scum.

Or was it to get to a quiet conversation place while the coroner and photographers and cleanup crew did their jobs?

The other woman should not have said that she does not have a gun as she has made herself an easy target.

Lesson Learned: If you are breaking and entering and find a gun in a purse, the lady may be inclined to use deadly force....shortly.

Good for her and good riddance of a bad guys...on the other hand on a link on the same site it was too bad for these people. Victims suffered and died. Arm yourselves people, you might have a chance as this lady did and survive.

Well her neighbors are all black people, so likely she is too. She's also about my older daughter's age. The one who is the mother of my grandchildren. Loved the way the story started. "Another home invader has paid for his crimes with his life".
If there was more of that sort of thing, there'd be fewer home invasions.
