Romney should pick Graham for VP(Barf alert)
http://thehill.com/ ^ | Denny Freidenrich

Now that the GOP presidential primaries effectively are over, it's on to Tampa for Mitt Romney and the Republicans. The only question up for grabs now is, who will the presumptive nominee select as his running mate? My pick is Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, but more about that later.

Geography and ideology have played important, but not always critical, roles in naming vice presidential running mates. It didn't matter much to George W. Bush that his pick, former Defense Secretary Dick Cheney, was from Wyoming. Ditto for Barack Obama. He chose the Senate's Foreign Relations Committee chair Joe Biden of Delaware. What Bush and Obama each needed most was a Washington insider on the ticket. I'm sure going rogue, as former GOP running mate Sarah Palin is fond of saying, never crossed their minds

Denny Freidenrich: Young '60s Republicans were all for contraception, abortion

Denny Freidenrich is a writer to be completely disregarded. Only a total screwhead could be this much out of touch.

You know, if you don’t care whether the ‘R’ candidate is a conservative or not (and with Romney, it’s ‘not’), then Hillary would be a spectacular pick for VP. Just think about it - liberal heads would be exploding, Obama would be apoplectic .... who would Bill campaign for? Hillary or Obama? What would the media say? Would they turn on Hillary and treat her like Sarah? I actually think that’s about the only way Romney would/could win. I’m thinking ‘sarc’ tag .... but I’m going to be provocative and leave it off :-)

He needs someone that will draw voters in, much like Palin did for McLame. If not for her, McLame would have lost by a much larger margin.

As far as Gramnesty - no thank you. That would be 2 unpalatable RINOs on 1 ticket and I do not believe I could swallow hard enough to pull the lever.

Now I could vote for any of them. I like your Happy Post. ; )

You could add Alan West to the list as far as I am concerned. I’m sure Romney is too much of a wuss to handle Alan, but I would love it.

The Tea Party endorses whoever in the GOP has the lead. The Tea Party endorses whoever is running against a Democrat. This is pretty much the standard of the Tea Party. The Tea Party just wants to hang on to their own money; this is the extent of the conservativism that exists in the Tea Party. Show Mitt and Lindsey leading Obama by 10 points, and the Tea Party will start drooling.

Romney will pick a moderate minority woman. Rice and Martinez come to mind.

________________________
Martinez will not run. She stated that she is fully responsible for her handicapped sister (I think sister) and that the sister is near to other family in Las Cruces, NM which she needs. Gov. Martinez said she would never move her and being elected to national office would require her sister to move with her.

I couldn’t find the ABQ Journal link quickly, but this link recaps that story. She would be good, but I am pretty sure when this lady says no, it means no. I live in ABQ and have seen her NO in action. She rocks!

Why Graham? Why not McCain? or Specter? or Snowe?

They would be more likely to step in and fill in for Mitt without missing an ideological beat...

“And, she may be more conservative than Mitt.”

You think more highly of Romney than I do. : [

It is a little more than obvious that the MSM will go to any length to make JoeBama a more respectable, smarter running mate.

Well, at least this proposal would get him out of the Senate and would not make him VP.

Perhaps that is the way Tea Parties operate up North. The South is a whole nuther story.

Conservatism on the West Coast or in the Northeast is quite different than conservatism in Texas.

Wow, this wins the award for the dumbest idea of 2012, though I will grant, the year is only 1/4 over. I think Lady Gaga would be a more effective VP choice, and I am being 100% serious. Lindsey Graham is an embarassment to any group that he could possibly claim membership in. He’s a weak RINO, he’s a weak gay-straight guy, he’s a doofus congressite. Wait, I’ll take that back. If there is a club for gay-straight idiots, he could possibly run for Treasurer or Secretary or something.

[Article] Now that the GOP presidential primaries effectively are over .....

You lyin' sumbitch! They are NOT over!

Ever hear of a little State called

TEXAS ?

How about 155 delegates' worth?

California?

Hellllloooooo, 'Pubbies! There are a FEW MORE of us out here across the Potomac!

What an arrogant slug.

Why have primaries anyway? Why not just let the New York Athletic Club have a meeting in the locker room and select the nominee and lustrate him right there? They have showers and stuff.

Might as well leave it off.

It's that kind of a thread.
