Gingrich Unloads on Fox News in Private Meeting
Real Politics ^ | 4-11-12 | Conroy

- During a meeting with 18 Delaware Tea Party leaders here on Wednesday, Newt Gingrich lambasted The Fox News Channel, accusing the cable news network that employed him as recently as last year of having been in the tank for Mitt Romney from the beginning of the Republican presidential fight and singling out former colleagues for attacking him out of what he characterized as personal jealousy.

“I think Fox has been for Romney all the way through,” Gingrich said during the private meeting at Wesley College to which RealClearPolitics was granted access. “In our experience, Callista and I both believe CNN is less biased than Fox this year. We are more likely to get neutral coverage out of CNN than we are of Fox, and we’re more likely to get distortion out of Fox. That’s just a fact.”

Gingrich’s contract as a Fox News contributor was terminated last spring, as he was gearing up for his White House run.

The former House Speaker’s blunt remarks about Fox came in response to a question from one of the Delaware Tea Party leaders about the manner in which his campaign has been treated by conservative media outlets.

Gingrich did not pull his punches in accusing Rupert Murdoch -- the chairman and CEO of the News Corporation, Fox News’ parent company -- of pushing for Romney behind the scenes.

“I assume it’s because Murdoch at some point said, ‘I want Romney,’ and so ‘fair and balanced’ became ‘Romney,’” Gingrich said. “And there’s no question that Fox had a lot to do with stopping my campaign because such a high percentage of our base watches Fox.”

Gingrich saved his most personal condemnation for George Will, a conservative columnist and frequent television commentator, who has been critical ...(read more)

Newt needs a miracle but life is sometimes funny that way.

Romney could have a scandal or his plane could go down.

If you quit you don’t get your miracle.

“Since the minute Santorum quit, Fox has been absolutely vicious against Gingrich. I have lost all respect for Fox because of the way they presented any information regarding Newt as well as the manipulation of his comments.”

Donny Wise wrote:

“Newt Gingrich is accurate on Fox News Bias... A source with close ties to Newt Gingrich, Rick Santorum, and Fox News did disclose last month during a business luncheon about a recent trip to New York to meet with management and PrimeTime personalities of Fox News. That meeting was an eye opener about the Pro-Romney bias which was the policy at Fox News, and the writing was on the wall in big red Fox News font — Romney or else... Santorum and Gingrich were dead in the water no matter what.

This disclosure was from a respected and fair conservative in his professional and political associations. This disclosure could not have come from a more respected or connected person with knowledge of the situation. The announcement by Newt was 85% verbatim of the information disclosed last month. Newt Gingrich does have every right to criticize Fox News, because Fair, Balanced, and Unafraid in this Republican nomination process is almost calling MSNBC moderate. It is simply is not true…”

I also think there are other dynamics going on with Fox and Gingrich. I have the feeling that many of the players at Fox are socially close and connected. I do believe Brit Hume has had a lot to do with this hostile attitude against Newt.

Newt said it bluntly: “I think Fox has been for Romney all the way through ... We are more likely to get neutral coverage out of CNN than we are of Fox, and we’re more likely to get distortion out of Fox. That’s just a fact.”

>>> Romney’s father may have been born in Mexico, but his parents were both U.S. citizens and George Romney derives his U.S. citizenship from his parents.

So previous reports I saw that suggested Romney’s father was NOT a US citizen is false?

Was Mitt Romney’s father a US citizen at the time of his birth or not?

Thanks... this is what I wanted to verify

The Fox executives are being told what to do by Soros.

A long post about it (with wider context) is at http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/bloggers/2868290/posts?page=22#22

Or you can get the more narrow story - including why Beck left Fox - at http://www.canadafreepress.com/index.php/article/44247

There is much, much more to this story than meets the eye. A critical part of Soros’ plan to take over the country involved taking over Fox, the one TV source that wouldn’t willingly self-censor the truth about Barack Obama, his owner Soros, their allies, and their agenda.

This I remember very well. After SC and newt was doing well, all Rick could do was complain about not getting coverage. Fox and friends had Newt and Rick on the same morning. They interviewed newt first and as usual he wanted to talk policy. They had a different plan as every question revolved around “should Santorum drop out”. Newt finally said, “look, it would make it easier but Rick will have to do what he thinks is best.”. Then before they brought Santorum on their lead-in was “let’s see what RS has to say about Gingrich asking him to drop out.”. Of course, RS used it for all it was worth. I was stunned at the manipulation. It was a setup and that did it for me with Fox as well as Santorum. I believe it was orchestrated between Fox and Santorum and no one will tell me differently.

Mitt Romney is considered a natural born citizen as he was born in the USA of citizen parents.

It doesn’t matter whether his father was a US citizen from birth, or not. But George Romney was born in Mexico to two US citizen parents and was brought to the US when around 7-years old.

George Romney attempted to run for the Presidency at one point in his life but pulled out of the race. It is commonly believed that he was not eligible due to his birth in Mexico.

Romney is not the finest candidate we’ve ever run but I personally think he is better than McCain.

He is not evil incarnate as some people believe.

Vote how you want and I’ll vote how I want.

Let’s stop lecturing each other.

I’m not interested in hearing any more diatribes against Romney at this point.

agreed, the woman or what ever it is supposed to be is cringeworthy and I remember seeing her for the first time on the megyn Kelly show and thought what on earth.

Now Kohn has came on Kellys show a few times and then lands a job at FOX and that told me all I needed to know and backed up what many were saying about FOX.

Like I said how Megyn Kelly who lost me as a viewer must be so proud to have the likes of her getting a job at FOX as it seems Kohns agenda fits into Kellys agenda and boy does she want is to know it or I should say she used to when I used to watch her

I see you have been theatened with deportation by voicing some sense on this forum.

What a crock.

The same group of people get together lately on all these threads to bemoan our fate and swear they won’t vote for Romney.

I thank God they are not representative of a majority in this country.

How people could compare Obama with anyone in the known universe and prefer him to Romney or anyone else is beyond me.

There has never been a consensus candidate among these people. Herman Cain was very popular here but that was a fluke. Some people think they are making some kind of statement by writing in Sarah Palin.

Hah. Sarah Palin didn’t run. Whatever her reasons and they may have been valid, she let her supporters down.

The best candidate was Rick Perry and he got almost no support here.

When it narrowed down to Newt and Santorum it was just a vicious battle with one group attacking the other one.

There is not a candidate on God’s green earth that would satisfy some of the people here.

I hope that having common sense won’t get one zotted as I’ve spent the best years of my life here, but I’m not going to pretend I won’t vote for Romney because I will.

I will crawl over hard earth to vote for him because I love my country and Obama would put us so far into a socialist hole that we couldn’t crawl out in our lifetimes.

Fox doe snot have one decent conservative on that channel doing a show.
They have Ingraham and Malkin which are good but Hannity is a fraud who has admitted he does not care about who will marry who and is more libertarian on social issues.
O.R, all about him.
Hume, Charles Krauthammer etc, are all about the establishment.
The five show is awful how anyone can watch that and give ratings to that piece of crap is beyond me , what Perino, Tantaros , a guy who thinks he is funny, Beckel or Williams

Wow you’d have to be a robot to watch it.

Megyn Kelly is all about her, telling us about her life , her nana, her underwater house, her pro homo , cross dressing agenda and who brought on the shrink only to attack him because he wrote a piece about kids being harmed watching cross dressers as if they were normal.

Hemmer and Greta are about the only decent people left on FOX and they are not conservative but watchable.

thank you , that’s good to know, hopefully their ratings go down and down and shows like Megyn Kelly and the five go off the air while others understand that Hannity is a coward on social issues and cares nothing about conservative social issues and who takes his talking points off Rush

I wouldn’t be going here, except you had this to say...

“I have no respect for the doom and gloomers, the whiners, the moaners and the stiff-necked perfectionists who brag they will not vote for Romney.”

You are sadly uneducated. It is painful to witness, frankly. You have been bought with propaganda and people like you who refuse to think on their own are what is killing this country.

I am going to give you a chance to clue in with the following links. If I see these types of comments on further threads, I will assume that you have chosen to willingly go down the path of progressivism that is leading our nation to communism. To that I say, “My the odds be ever in your favor.” As for me, I’ll take a constitutional republic any day.

We have to hold anybody that should win the presidency accountable... Bush veered wildly off the path of conservatism and was roundly criticized and to some degree held in check, except on spending. If Romney should win, or even Newt, it will be our job to hold their feet to the fire and make them feel the burn if they think they can forget us. Our vote is not for free, that is the message our candidate must be made to understand.
