It takes a lot of hope to maybe think Romney could do that.

It takes a lot of hope to maybe think Obama won't do much, much worse, and that America can recover from the damage.

At what point do we decide that “being realistic” and voting for a fake conservative is just another step down the path to serfdom?

If the choice is between one small step and one giant leap, I'll take the small step. And yes, I will take being realistic over being unrealistic.

A valid point, it's a sad state our country is in. The implicit problem, as you have correctly stated,is our direction is still the wrong way. How many small steps do we allow then? If this trend continues, and the media and the establishment keep picking moderate Rebulicans for us to support, the Liberals achieve their objectives in the long run. And we, who tried to be realistic, and choose the lesser of two evil still lose. We must do our best to make our voice heard above the mediocre din of the liberal media; that's what the Tea part did and that's what we must continue.

I will by no means mark my ballot for Obama and you can bet I'll show up to vote for my congressman, senator governor, etc.
