George Zimmerman woke up in a Seminole County jail cell this morning as the mother of Trayvon Martin, the teen he killed, revealed on national television that she thinks the shooting was an accident.

Asked what she would like to ask to Zimmerman, Trayvon's mother, Sybrina Fulton, told The Today Show that she wants an apology from him.

"I believe it was an accident. I believe it just got out of control and he couldn't turn the clock back," Fulton said, revealing her opinion on what happened the night her 17-year-old son was shot to death. "I would ask him, did he know that that was a minor, that that was a teenager and that he did not have a weapon."

Eh...I don’t think so. She probably knows her son attacked, they know he’s no angel.

This is another example of the law of unintended consequences. The got what they asked for... and now it has a life of it’s own.

NBC is being very protective of the identity of whoever edited that 911 tape. Imagine for a moment what would happen if it turned out to be a black person.

Damage control after the story got out that she had tried to trademark Trayvon’s name.

I think the real question she should ask him is, did my son attack you..what difference does it make if he was 17, or unarmed..what good is a concealed weapons permit if you have to wait until someone pulls a gun on you to pull your, a losing battle...

Attack someone, all options open to dispose of the thug...

The Obama orchestrators of this charade saw the mug shot with Zim looking very BROWN and HISPANIC and said, “Oh, sh*t”

Wow, just, wow! She is going to be in big trouble with the racial agitators who have relentlessly promoted the narrative that: he was hunted down like a dog, he was killed for walking while black in a gated community, etc.

Still not a very wise strategy. I think she actually spoke from her heart what she honestly feels. There’s really no benefit in them making Zimmerman more sympathetic at this point. By stating he had no intention to hurt her son , that it was just an accident as they tasseled on the ground, takes all the race hustlers wind out of their sails.

Maybe Ms. Fulton knows her son was a wayward teen and actually feels a bit of guilt over the firestorm she has created and the fact that Zimmerman has been railroaded into a murder charge.

My more cynical side however tells me that her Civil attorney has told her that if Zimmerman is convicted of murder then her lawsuit against the home owners association will go down in flames. She NEEDS for this to have been an accident. She needs for this to be negligence. There is no pot of gold at the end of the rainbow if Jorge is convicted of murder.

In other words, she just realized that once this goes to trial Zimmerman’s lawyer will be investigating Trayvon’s history. I’ll bet money that he is not the squeaky clean kid they are portraying and she knows this is about to blow up in their face. The memory of her son will be crushed as the truth is exposed.

Bingo.

Very likely it will come out that Trayvon was going for Zims gun, there was a struggle and that is when Trayvon was shot. During the struggle for the gun there could have been a time when Trayvon had a hold of it but it was pointing at him. He may have actually “accidentally” pulled the trigger and shot himself. If his fingerprints are on the gun, its all over for the prosecution.

Not only that, there's the issue of another Florida "hanging Chad".

Little Chad was hanging around back at the townhouse, 70 yards from where young tough Trayvon got dusted, waiting for his Skittles. That's about a half-wedge, for golf fans, and a throw from short center field to the plate, for baseball fans.

Of course, little Chad didn't notice a thing that night. Nor did Chad or Trayvon's adults notice a thing the next day when Jorge Zimmerman brought the cops back and re-enacted the whole thing.

Can I get a WTF?

"I would ask him, did he know that that was a minor, that that was a teenager and that he did not have a weapon."

It appears he could not have known. Her son never gave him the opportunity to find out. When Zimmerman approached him, rather than stop and talk with him as civilized people are wont to do, he ran like a common criminal who'd been caught where he wasn't supposed to be.

-- Zimmermans already been portraying this as self-defense....don't think he can change that now....? --

He doesn't want to and won't deviate from the justified use of deadly force in self-defense. Trayvon's mother's remark is notable for its humor value - to the extent one finds humor in thuggish behavior ending in the unfortunate need to resort to deadly force.

Someone like Lin Wood (who represented Richard Jewell) will represent Zimmerman in a defamation suit against NBC after this trial is over and it will all come out.

I don’t get what you mean. How will her lawsuit against the HOA go down in flames if it’s murder but not involuntary manslaughter (accident)?
Either way they’ll sue claiming the HOA had someone “unstable” person being watchman of the community. GZ wasn’t even on duty anyway.
