So except for not being a female person, he fulfills the requirements of the 150 student feminists who signed petitions objecting to Mrs. Bush's presence. So I introduce Mr. Royko.''

Thank you Vigilanteman. I am a Freeperland Mom - my youngest daughter at home is 14 and the older are newly and so far successfully launched 24, 22, and turning 20 on Sunday. It is a timely topic!! and I used to read Mike Royko and always thought he had a very insightful column.
I remember Mike Royko, and I did enjoy his articles! Thanks for posting it.
I had one child, one dog, one cat and a husband who was starting a business and rarely home. I could not take time off when I had pneumonia! Yet those were the happiest times!
As for Ann Romney staying home to raise FIVE BOYS-she has my highest respect!
As the oldest of six children, I remember well my mother - who was up before any of the rest of the family, and was the last to go to bed.
As of that last remark by the latest of democratic bimbos...I loath and detest the current democrappic party.
And I forecast that sooner or later, we’ll to to war with them.
Thanks very much. My wife will love this. He also had a great column on The War on Drugs that I still remember that in many ways captures fundamental weaknesses in our society.
I greatly regret that three of the four columnists that I treasured are dead (well, maybe three of five if you count Dave Barry). If they were still around I might not spend so much time reading through threads on Free Republic.

There is a lot of magic in my house.
The laundry gets thrown in the hamper and reappears in drawers, clean and folded.
The lawn never grows.
The dishes are laid in the sink and reappear clean in the cabinet the next day.
The toilets never get dirty, the sinks always shine, and even when you come in with mud on your feet, if you take off your shoes and move them to the laundry area, the mud on the floor is gone when you come back.
The cats and dog never poop or puke.
Lunches are made, dinners are made and the pots and pans just disappear.
Doctor and Dentist appointments appear in calendars.
Money transfers from the bank to the utility companies as needed.
There is always a ride, with a full tank of gas and a driver.
And there is someone always praying for your safety and your future.
No one thinks about the magic. They think moms eat bonbons all day.

Nice article. I’ve always felt that the single most important job in the history of mankind is motherhood, closely followed by fatherhood. It’s how we move forward as a society without foundering the way our society is today.

A great many of the rabble-rousing, man-hating nazi-feminists of the sixties and seventies were products of well-to-do homes where they were given everything by their parents and treated like little queens. They decided to repay the country that allowed them to croak their worthless opinions on society by crapping on it. But curiously, they remained in the U.S. instead of immigrating to Iran or some third-world pesthole where I’m sure they’d have been treated like royalty. (smirk)
