Why Obama Hates Paul Ryan
The American Spectator ^ | 4-12-12 | eter Ferrara

A left-wing extremist can't compete intellectually with a voice of reason.

Barack Obama's address on April 3 at the Associated Press luncheon in Washington D.C. demonstrated why our politics and our country today are seriously dysfunctional, and only the American people can fix it at the ballot box. Find the transcript online and print it out as I did.

I will show below why it reveals that the President, in fact, does not understand the major issues facing the country, indeed, he actually can't even discuss them intelligently. Moreover, he is hopelessly, abusively dishonest about what he does understand. Thirdly, what he is demanding as policy is irreconcilable left-wing extremism.

Fourthly, what the speech shows is that Barack Obama is very angry. He is angry because he has been completely shown up by Paul Ryan, who stepped up in his budget and provided the leadership that Obama promised America in 2008, and America so badly needs, but that Obama has not only failed to deliver, but refused to deliver. In fact, he has delivered just the opposite. What the speech says to me is that Obama has internal polls showing him getting creamed in public opinion by Paul Ryan. Republicans may have those same internal polls, explaining the surge of interest in Ryan for VP.

What Ryan did most of all that has Obama actually feeling embarrassed if not humiliated is propose in his budget both pro-growth tax reform with bipartisan support, and fundamental entitlement reform that enjoys bipartisan support as well.

Obama Makes It Up

Hence Obama's shameful, transparently dishonest attack on Ryan's budget in the speech, which has only further backfired on Obama. Obama said that under Ryan's budget:

The year after next, nearly 10 million college students would see their financial aid cut by an average of

FTA:

But the speech itself reveals where Obama got these fairy tales, because he didn’t get them from Ryan’s budget. The above litany of woe is preceded in the speech by this line: “I want to actually go through what it would mean for our country if these cuts were to be spread out evenly,” and this caveat: “If this budget becomes law, and the cuts were evenly applied starting in 2014…”

In other words, Obama’s speech itself tells us this is all made up. Obama’s minions calculated the percentage of total spending cuts in Ryan’s budget, and then applied that same percentage to every politically sensitive line item in the budget. But as Ryan has said publicly, that is not what his budget does. The long overdue spending cuts are outlined in hundreds of pages on the House Budget Committee website.

If you can’t defend against it with the truth, just LIE ABOUT IT.

It’s a Democrat thingy, we aren’t supposed to understand.

Don’t forget good looking and taller than the O. Ryan is full of surprises. He might even be able to out flank the O on the BBall court.

Do you know what Ryan did as a part time job when he was in college? He drove the Oscar Meyer Weinermobile! How is that for a fun college job?

This is how Daily Kos spins this:

“Let’s just be absolutely clear as to what the Romney-Ryan budget would do to women who do know what it’s like to struggle financially.

The budget your husband has embraced will shred every bit of support women and their families need through every stage of life.

At least $291 billion will disappear from WIC, nutrition assistance, Head Start, child care, job training, Pell Grants, and more programs that support struggling families.
$134 billion from SNAP, or food stamps, will mean something like 8.2 billion meals not served, in a single year; food out of the mouths of children and the elderly, a disproportionate number of which are female.
$2.4 trillion from Medicaid and other health services will mean mothers will have a harder time finding medical care for themselves and their children, and for their elderly parents, again which are disproportionately female.
56 percent of Medicare beneficiaries are women, and the Romney-Ryan voucher plan will make them pay more and more each year out of their own pockets, to try to keep their medical care.

If Mitt Romney really has compassion for the people who struggle, for women who struggle, he’ll not push policies that will make their lives demonstrably and horribly worse. There’s not an ounce of compassion in this plan he’s endorsed.”

I especially liked this part:
“The budget your husband has embraced will shred every bit of support women and their families need through every stage of life.”
WHAT ABOUT THE FATHER/HUSBAND???
Is it too politically incorrect to ask this question?

No, it’s more personal. It’s envy. Ryan is the type of person who actually solves problems and gets the “right” answer. Obama and those around him, are the class clowns, and have never measured up against such people. They got where they are by being “cool”, not by doing any actual work. They are jealous and envious.

Ryan took Obama to the woodshed during the Republican summit on Obamacare.

Obama’s eyes shot daggers at Ryan for Ryan’s factually attacking Obama’s plan.

It made for great TV.

Obama still never recovered from the beating Ryan gave him in the health care summit.

"Republicans may have those same internal polls, explaining the surge of interest in Ryan for VP"

I sure hope so. No one articulates the differences between libs and conservatives better than Ryan, both in broad philosophical terms and also in the details. Romney would be so wise to put him on the ticket and take the fight right straight to The One. Romney claims to be an exceptional manager. Well, exceptional managers surround themselves with exceptional people. Ryan for Veep would be a great start.

Ryan doesn’t need a teleprompter to tell it like it is. Obama needs one to keep his new lies from contradicting his old ones.
