OXFORD, MS -

(WMC-TV) - An Ole Miss Law Professor says the public needs to wait for all the facts before making judgments in the shooting of Trayvon Martin.

After watching Reverend Kia Grandberry live on Action News 5 Thursday morning, Ole Miss law professor Samuel Davis was irritated with one of her comments about George Zimmerman.

Davis said it is those types of remarks that are plaguing the case.

"Now that he's [Zimmerman] been arrested, we want a conviction," Grandberry said on Action News 5 Thursday morning.

"That's what bothered me," Davis said.

Take one look around Samuel Davis' office and you can see his passion for justice. Law books line his shelves and his desk is covered in bobble heads of past and current Supreme Court Justices.

In this case, Davis worries that justice may be taking a backseat.

"That's what bothers me about this case that there seems to be a rush to judgment," Davis said.

When Davis heard Grandberry's comments about Trayvon Martin's accused killer, he told us he was irate.

"Looking for a conviction here you're assuming the crime of second degree murder has been committed and that there is no defense of self defense here which at this point we just don't know," said Davis.

Zimmerman appeared before a judge Thursday for the first time since he was charged with second degree murder.

"There is probable cause to believe that this person committed the crime with which he's charged," Davis continued. "That's not proof beyond a reasonable doubt; that's why we have trials."

Zimmerman claims he shot the 17-year-old in self defense.

"If it turns out George Zimmerman doesn't have a broken nose, doesn't have a wound in the back of his head, then he has a very poor case in trying to make out a self defense claim," Davis said.

No matter what is decided in the controversial case, Davis warned the public to wait for the all the facts.

"There were only two people really know, who were present when this confrontation occurred, and unfortunately one of them is dead," Davis said.

Zimmerman will remain behind bars in Florida until his attorney requests bond. That is expected to happen before Zimmerman's next court appearance on May 29.

Thanks—hadn’t thought of that. They often act like the 14th amendment extended the Bill of Rights to the states but this seems to be a case where that is not true.

One thing this whole episode has revealed is how much pent up hatred some blacks have against other races.

Oddly enough, some of the loudest are also some of the lightest. Am I right or am I Wright?

The ravening mob is howling for a blood sacrifice and I don't for a single moment doubt they'll get it.

Either Mr. Zimmerman will be convicted for the heinous crime of self defense against one of Holder's People or innocent blood will flow in the streets.

The die is cast and no one can recall the throw.

You are under the mistaken belief that this is about justice,it is not it is about a dog & pony show to agitate the African-American comunity to hate whitey & to vote for Barry. Also to help prevent a bloody race riot that the poverty pimps Al & Jesse along with the NBPP have been agitating for.
