Yes, because if you cross any of the tightly drawn boundaries of political correctness you learn you’ll be pummeled.

Yes.

Pols want high pass rates. So, kids pass who are lazy, entitled, and ignorant.

Teachers mostly have to choose between doing what’s right and keeping their job.

Are Public Schools, Colleges "graduating" shallow students unable, unwilling to debate ideas?

But they can bleat "Obama good, two legs bad!" for hours on end and that's good enough.

Is the Pope Catholic? And, I’ll go you one more: I’m a certified teacher in Texas, and most public H.S. Students cannot write their name in cursive. Some School Districts don’t even teach cursive writing anymore. That is the honest, to God’s truth. But then, who cares? It’s a new generation.

Absolutely, Ralph.

When I was still in college just a few years ago, the College Republicans were absolutely crippled by their own stupidity. During the 2008 election, the College Democrats memorized the DNC’s talking points, passed around flyers, and generally made at least a passing attempt at debating conservatives.

The College Republicans (more like College RINOs) refused to do anything of the sort because they thought it might be too “controversial.” They spent all their time sending thank-you cards to soldiers, which isn’t a bad idea, but not to the exclusion of everything else.

I broke off from the group and did what I could win over votes, becoming one of the most hated conservatives on campus in the process.

Given the structure and ideology of public ed/colleges I thought that was the intended outcome. After all 99.9% of whats taught is narrow liberal bias. Why would you expect something other than that as output?

“Shallow students unwilling or unable to debate ideas”

Hmm, sounds like obama (private school product) and his Ivy league cronies and supporters in govt, MEDia and industry who are running this country (into the ground)

Anyone care to debate ideas with our Columbia/Harvard grad Potus and his Princeton/Harvard first lady?

This is the result of prickly Union staffed institutions where thinking your own mind and saying it is dangerous for a kid. The whole point of political correctness is to dictate student’s point of view on society, environmental science, politics and history and to limit their knowledge to that which supports the politically correct point of veiw. It is to brainwash then and shape their idenity.

The point of views dictated are boring and stupid and the opposite of the student’s own feelings and observations. So the student must disconnect from himself or hide himself by refusing to speak about what he experiences, observes and thinks. These subjects forbidden of thought and voice are made central to American life in schools, most entertainment and politics.

Currently political correctness is pushed on students in the areas of American history, political parties and candidates, diversity race hate doctrines, heterosexual interactions/feminist slutishness, homosexual doctrines, global warming...anything that is not hard basic science and math. The whole process is mental and psychological bullying to some extent or the other.

Then, you also have armed cops on many campuses and the pc pimps are not afarid to use them should you step outside the box and draw soldiers in battle with guns or get fingered by a feminist or diversity bully in another way - like saying something “raaaacis”, uncle tomish or hate/reject homosexual mental and/or physical interaction with you (disagree with any slogan of liberalism). A student must not be morally intellegent expressing good from evil unless evil is named disagreeing with politically correct doctrines. You are told racism and intolerance is the worst sin in the world while you are in school often victimized by liberal intolerance and diversity racism.

This is why we see young people acting in herds of group think and easily manipulated in dog wistle situations conjured by liberals for manipulation and power - like the Trayvon situation, the hate Bush mobs and the erection, I mean election, of the fake messiah - Dear Reader.

Having your own mind requires practice in analysis which involves the collection of facts, pointS of views and your observations and experience. It requires the power to decide for yourself what is right and wrong and the safety in expressing the truth for yourself based on that information.

If we wanted to restore our education system we would have to get rid of socialist studies, social engineering, and moral relativity because it is purely radical activism and forbids normal mental and personality development and social interaction.

Welcome to the world of zero dimentional speeches and “arguments” done by liberal colleges.

Say one crazy thing and stick to it, it helps the fascist cause in its usage of TV propaganda, marching orders and conformism.

We are surrounded by insane idiots.

As a retired high school teacher my answer is an unqualified -"YES".

If you get in a discussion of facts with these nimrods their response is dogma and/or ridicule, just like obummer.

Yes, of course. Where have you been? It was already like that 15 years ago when I was in school. In the few instances where you were encouraged to debate ideas, there were usually only 2 acceptable positions: the liberal one, and the ultraliberal one. I imagine nowadays the only 2 acceptable positions are the progressive and the communist.

Well, duh! Newly graduated liberals can't be open to debate because:

1) Liberal dogma is so obviously true, who would even want to debate for the other side?

2) They can't be taught to be open minded because how then do you indoctrinate them in liberal groupthink? Same applies to the teaching methods themselves. If you want to come to a conclusion in line with liberal dogma, you obviously can't take an honest walk through the issue, you have to propogandize and call it a day. Propagandizing, while the results it produces can be brittle, can't produce open minded people.

Hmmm. Lets see. Go against the flow on any of a large number of subjects in high school or college and watch your GPA and/or social status plummet.
OR shut up, keep your head down and do what work is required and you’ll graduate.

Not a hard choice for most boys, I suspect.
