A Romney nomination insures 4 more years of the worst President in history. People do not vote for a man who can lie to their face with a straight face. There are videos of the man passionately standing on all sides of all the issues. That's going to be the downfall of this man's campaign.
Romney is his own enemy and the GOP is its own enemy simply by pushing Romney onto the party.
Besides, Romney is not the only Republican left. There is Newt.

Enough of this false dichtomy construct. We do have more than two choices. There comes a time a man has to decide what he makes himself complicit in supporting. I'm not a huge fan of Newt, but I'll back him all the way if there's the smallest chance it can stop Romney.

I’m torn up about Romney probably getting the nomination. I voted for McCain last time cause I knew what we were getting with Obama. Didn’t do a damn bit of good. We have a long time before the election. Things change. I’ll follow your lead. However, If you change your mind then please let me know!

romney is evil... if he were a good Christian man, we could believe in his redemption... but he is not... he is a member of a cult and the more that I learn of his religion... the more that I understand what it is not... and it is NOT a Christian religion. He says that he has had a change of heart... but I hear no apology for the murders of the innocent that he has enabled. He owes all of us apologies for every single progressive thing that he has done and every single progressive action he took as governor... but do not hold your breath... he is a progressive and only lies today for power and money. I will not vote for him under any circumstance whatsoever. I will vote for every single Conservative down ballot... but romney will never see a vote from my hand.

Dubya is an example of what will happen if Mitt wins. Big, bigger, biggest government.
For conservatives, Dubya is the perfect example of Republican failure and the results...another Obama.
Mitt will either be a Dubya (if we cave in and vote for him); or, Mitt will be a McCain. Either way leads to another Obama.

Which exposed liberalism to the world and brought us Speaker Newt Gingrich 2 years later in response and his balanced budgets, booming economy and budget surplus. Then the Repugs nominated Bob Don't and lost the White House. Notice they're repeating history here...1992-1994-1996...2008-2010-2012. All we have to do like Jim says is gridlock Obama the way we gridlocked Clinton. It won't make government conservative of course but it will lessen the damage and set the stage to retake the White House in 2016.
