A reminder for those who are not receiving the message:
Romney is a pathological compulsive liar. Lie after lie papered over with more lies. Doesn’t even flinch when caught in bald faced lies, simply tells another big whopper to cover up or dodge the issue. Funny thing, the man actually seems to believe his own latest lies and simply ignores the glaring record of his past actions/lies. And you have true blue establishment elite RINO Republicans like Karl Rove enabling and backing up his lies. Their motivation is simply to hang on to power (and riches) any way they can.
I’ve stated many times since Romney started running for the presidency way back when that I’d never vote for him and I will not. He cannot lie his way out of his decades long record of support for abortion, Roe v Wade, planned parenthood, gay rights, gun control, global warming, amnesty, liberal judges, big government, compulsory or socialized health care (RomneyCommieCare), mandates, Keynesian economics, support and approval of TARP, bailouts, stimulus packages, i.e, every damn liberal progressive issue that comes down the pike.
C’mon. These are the reasons the tea party sprang up and the reasons he and Rove loathe the tea party and our tea party conservative candidates. Romney famously expressed his loathing for Reagan-Bush conservatism several years ago when he was trying to run to the left of Ted Kennedy and now he’s cloaking himself in Reagan conservatism, knowing full well that it’s a lie, but he knows it’s the only way he can possibly win, er buy the Republican nomination.
Screw Romney!! I absolutely will not support or vote for a proven compulsive liar with a known record of abortion and big government socialism, liberal appointments, etc. He still lies about RomneyCommieCare today. Calls it a “conservative solution.” Get real!!

I think that Republicans and Conservatives who live in critical battleground states where the entire Presidential elections is won and lost then it is highly recommended that they vote for Romney despite all the many problems with him. However those who live in states where Romney is assured to win or Obama is assured to win no matter what then they have the luxury of not voting for the President spot on the ballot. Most importantly it is extremely important that every Republican and Conservative get out to vote because Republicans must a least keep the House and hopefully win the Senate so even if Obama wins his damage would be greatly limited. Having said that the best scenario at the end is to defeat Obama next November...
I'm not sure I'm following you. I was not a Romney supporter. I was pulling for Newt, well actually Perry, then Newt but the contest is all but over and Romney is going to win. My thoughts on the subject are exactly as Breitbarts'. I will support whoever is opposing Obama as the Republican Nominee. I can assure you I'm very stable in my position. Obama must go, NOW.
If you are conservative and want to advance the conservative platform I can absolutely assure you that it's a mistake to not support Mitt Romney if he is the Republican Nominee. Obama is a card carrying communist, is ineligible to serve and is engaged in a systematic distruction of our way of life.
For those like Jim that think we are best to let Obama have another 4 years rather than support the establishment Republican you are making a dangerous miscalculation.
Even if we were to take both houses of congress the rollback of Obama policies and damage will NOT begin for another 4 years. Obama may get two more supreme court appointments in that time. Then at the end of his second term the voters may turn against the ineffective Republicans and give up the house or senate. Then What? Wait another 8 years to overturn Obamacare and a thousand other assaults on our liberty?
lastly, I will point out that what was suggested in the OP is forgetting one VERY important fact. Obama will still be Commander in chief. He could very well get us into a MAJOR conflict and literally put the entire country in peril.

This is my last post on the subject and I hope you all take a step back and think about what you are doing before it's too late. We don't know what Obama might do in a second term. I’ve scanned this thread because it was brought to my attention by another FReeper.
Jim (and all) your opinions of Romney have been quite clear and you’ve been very vocal about them.
And many of you were particularly vocal, in vicious, nasty ways, when there were better candidates; far better(I would say exceptional) than what we are left with now.
I’ll never forget the way in which Governor Perry and his supporters were treated on this forum. But what was stunning was that it was allowed with the participation of many veteran FReepers, mods and even you Jim.
In fact, Jim, you screamed (computer wise) at Cincinatus’ Wife for posting a pro Perry post on a Cain thread and told her to “get the hell off the thread”. Absolutely stunning and shocking. At that time, I thought perhaps your account was being used by someone ‘other’ than you (and said that to those who were upset over it) as you were, at that time, going through some serious health issues. But I read through here and see that the style of telling those to go get F’d is the same as it was then and directed at some longtime FReepers...FReepers who donated and thought they had a home here. Just wow...
Personally, I was initially for Gov Palin. A Palin/Perry or Perry/Palin ticket was, imho, the dream ticket. But it was not to be. And it was clear after the Iowa debacle that Palin was not in it to be a candidate. The treatment of Christine O’Donnell at that event and the entire chaotic presentation showed just how far her organization devolved (again imo) and how disorganzied it was.
She was never serious about running so I moved on to Gov Perry. A man who is running the 13th largest economy in the world, a man who has been loyal to the constitution, a man who served his country honorably. What was the response on FR? Ugly, nasty defaming comments. Perry’s supporters had to endure name calling, and personal attacks with no moderation what so ever. We were called racists, and then accused of being for open borders (go figure). La Raza Rick, Guardisil Rick, Trans Corridor Rick ... with abosolutely no reasoning with those posters at all; and some were even encouraged by mods.
And now look at what we are stuck with. Not that FR had the influence to determine that but I do consider it a ‘picture’ of conservative thinking which, is as chaotic as I’ve ever witnessed in my life.
We are not electing a king but we are trying to rid ourselves of a king/tyrant wanna-be. A man who is a traitor to this nation; who is giving aid and comfort to our enemies. A man WHO IS ATTACKING AMERICANS and everything American has stood for! I will crawl over broken glass to vote against him.
Romney has been very vocal about supporting 2nd amendment rights, choosing constitutional justices, defunding planned parenthood etc. Now these may be different than when he was gov of Mass but we forgive Newt Gingrich for his background and we’re willing to accept him for what he has done and based upon what he says he now believes INCLUDING global warming etc.

We all realize there are three wings of the Republican Party: social conservatives, national defense conservatives and economic conservatives. I don't have a problem with someone whose focus is on economics — I own a business too, and I understand the damage Obama is doing.
But if the Republican Party wants to support free enterprise while being free of moral convictions, it's going the route of a European-style conservative party. That's not the heritage of American Judeo-Christian conservatism, and it's certainly not the heritage of the modern Republican Party.

Romney isn’t pro-choice anymore. Obama supports infanticide. Obama lining his pockets is not what I’m referring to. I’m referring to his policies for jobs. Romneycare is different from Obamacare, because most people in Massachusetts wanted it, but most Americans didn’t want Obamacare. Romney hasn’t proposed it for America.
Newt isn’t a strong conservative. He was an amnesty supporter, and still supports a form of amnesty. He was a believer in global warming, and sat on a couch with Nancy Pelosi. Newt did an education tour with Al Sharpton. He supported the Fairness Doctrine. Newt was against Paul Ryan’s medicare reform.

Now what is promoting Romney? Not posting any positive news about him, his campaign, polls showing him in a good position? I think there are very few people on FR who promote Romney as a good candidate. I think that there are many who would vote for him on the most simple fact that they do not want another 4 years of Obama, it is that simple.

Yes, the liberals are listening. That's obvious. Free Republic has been accurately quoted in the New York Times and Politico as a rallying point for anti-Romney conservatives, and inaccurately described in The Atlantic as a racist site, just in the last couple of months. It seems clear that this site is going to end up being a significant thorn in the side of the Republican Party if Mitt Romney is the nominee.
However, without communicating with conservatives, do you have any better idea how to convince people not to vote for Romney and to vote for Gingrich instead in the remaining states?
I'm not prepared to give up. Winning elections means communicating. I read the New York Times on a daily basis and part of my reason why is to learn how the leftists and top government officials think and what they're planning. If they want to read Free Republic I don't see the difference.

A Romney nominee would not be a Scalia or a Thomas. He might be an Alito or a Roberts. Obama would nominate Mao, Alinsky, or Farrakahn. Anyone doubt this?

I personally cannot stand Romney for the simple reason that he gave us Romneycare which Obamacare was based upon and that he has no core values and principles. But it is what it is and he is the Republican nominee and if Obama must be defeated then Romney must win and he can only win if enough people in particular in the battleground states vote for him...
