We will not waste our limited resources on FR in support for a liberal progressive LIAR

A reminder for those who are not receiving the message:

Romney is a pathological compulsive liar. Lie after lie papered over with more lies. Doesn’t even flinch when caught in bald faced lies, simply tells another big whopper to cover up or dodge the issue. Funny thing, the man actually seems to believe his own latest lies and simply ignores the glaring record of his past actions/lies. And you have true blue establishment elite RINO Republicans like Karl Rove enabling and backing up his lies. Their motivation is simply to hang on to power (and riches) any way they can.

I’ve stated many times since Romney started running for the presidency way back when that I’d never vote for him and I will not. He cannot lie his way out of his decades long record of support for abortion, Roe v Wade, planned parenthood, gay rights, gun control, global warming, amnesty, liberal judges, big government, compulsory or socialized health care (RomneyCommieCare), mandates, Keynesian economics, support and approval of TARP, bailouts, stimulus packages, i.e, every damn liberal progressive issue that comes down the pike.

C’mon. These are the reasons the tea party sprang up and the reasons he and Rove loathe the tea party and our tea party conservative candidates. Romney famously expressed his loathing for Reagan-Bush conservatism several years ago when he was trying to run to the left of Ted Kennedy and now he’s cloaking himself in Reagan conservatism, knowing full well that it’s a lie, but he knows it’s the only way he can possibly win, er buy the Republican nomination.

Screw Romney!! I absolutely will not support or vote for a proven compulsive liar with a known record of abortion and big government socialism, liberal appointments, etc. He still lies about RomneyCommieCare today. Calls it a “conservative solution.” Get real!!

Listen to what Ronald Reagan had to say about the elites pushing socialism on America via compulsory health insurance:

Ronald Reagan speaks out against RomneyCommieCare

There will be no campaign for this Massachusetts liberal liar on FR!!

Damn the libs and RINOS, full steam ahead!!

But no matter what happens we must turn out in November to vote IN as many conservatives and vote OUT as many rats as possible at all levels of government. If we don't have a conservative at the top of the ticket we must turn out anyway and vote straight conservative DOWN ticket!! Just think of it an off cycle election and pour on the TEA!! It'll be doubly important that we control both houses of congress and as many statehouses as possible.

Restore the 10th amendment!! Impeach the leftist president whoever he may be!! Restore Liberty!! Rebellion comes from the bottom up!!

WOO HOO!! I CAN SEE NOVEMBER FROM MY HOUSE!!

No Bama!! No Romney!! Go tea party rebellion!!

I think conservatives have lost power in the GOP. We are not wanted. I still cannot believe they really expect us to vote for Romney.

I think there position and agenda has always been to move us leftward by putting us between a rock and a hard place.

I'm not playing that game anymore. I've supported the GOP all my life.

If Romney is the nominee, the GOP and I are through!

NOT VOTING IS NOT AN OPTION. It borders treason imho.

No maam, it is not treason if we show up and vote a straight conservative ticket for the local races.

What is treason in my mind is to support a man who based on his record will not stop Obamacare. This alone means that every person in the United States will be sending tax dollars to help pay for abortions. Well to me that's murder plain and simple. Given the tide the news is taking the libs are gearing up for another gun control push in the near future. Could it be treason to vote for a candidate that has been for gun control.

We have to stick to our principals, basic American principals like freedom and liberty. It's our constitutional principals that make America different.

Here's a couple great quotes from a Congressman who had to make a choice between serving his party and sticking to his principals. Wise words to us today:

“I am sorry to say I do doubt the honesty of many men that are called good at home, that have given themselves up to serve a party. I am no man's man. I bark at no man's bid. I will never come and go, and fetch and carry, at the whistle of the great man in the white house, no matter who he is. And if this petty, un-patriotic scuffling for men, and forgetting principles, goes on, it will be the overthrow of this one happy nation, and the blood and toil of our ancestors will have been expended in vain.”

“I would rather be beaten and be a man than to be elected and be a little puppy dog. I have always supported measures and principles and not men. I have acted fearless[ly] and independent and I never will regret my course. I would rather be politically buried than to be hypocritically immortalized.”

“I am at liberty to vote as my conscience and judgement dictates to be right, without the yoke of any party on me... Look at my arms, you will find no party hand-cuff on them!”

Davy Crockett held to his principles. Will we today?

No, Nixon almost killed the republican party and therefore damaged conservatism. The only reason we got Reagan was because thanks to Nixon, then Ford, we had Carter and we got lucky because he sucked donkey balls.

Yup!

Same old game the GOP-E plays every year knowing people like you can ignore the complete fallacy of the GOP-E candidate being conservative because they hype the world will end tomorrow if the current Dem monster is elected/re-elected.

And all the time they have rigged the process with open-primaries and paying off politicians for their endorsements and flooding the airwaves with lies about the actual conservatives in the race coupled with the only semi-credible news source of FoxNews acting as an undeclared Superpac for the current GOP-E candidate.

They expect you to keep voting for their crappy candidates and being manipulated by their game and you keep falling for it.

Romney, while not perfect, is vastly better than Obama.

This is perhaps the most widespread and insidious propaganda now being pushed by Romney supporters. It simply isn't true.

Romney is Obama's near-identical twin, in all but name only, as is proven by his dismal governing record in Massachusetts, and his many public statements over the last decade or so.

Mitt Romney’s Dismal Record

"As U.S. real output grew 13 percent between 2002 and 2006, Massachusetts trailed at 9 percent.

* Manufacturing employment fell 7 percent nationwide those years, but sank 14 percent under Romney, placing Massachusetts 48th among the states.

* Between fall 2003 and autumn 2006, U.S. job growth averaged 5.4 percent, nearly three times Massachusetts' anemic 1.9 percent pace.

* While 8 million Americans over age 16 found work between 2002 and 2006, the number of employed Massachusetts residents actually declined by 8,500 during those years.

"Massachusetts was the only state to have failed to post any gain in its pool of employed residents," professors Sum and McLaughlin concluded.

In an April 2003 meeting with the Massachusetts congressional delegation in Washington, Romney failed to endorse President Bush's $726 billion tax-cut proposal."

[Cato Institute annual Fiscal Policy Report Card - America's Governors, 2004.]

Romney's "accomplishments".

1. Implemented/created Gay Marriage in MA

2. Supported and forced Gay Adoption in MA

3. Supported Abortion wholeheartedly

4. Raised taxes/fees over 300% while being Governor of MA

5. Implemented a state-level Cap and Trade system.

6. Supported Man-Made Global Warming

7. Supported the Brady Bill

8. Implemented a state level “Assault” Weapons Ban after the Federal AWB was allowed to expire.

9. Supported TARP

10. Supported Amnesty for Illegal Aliens (Citizenship for those already here)

11. Supported McCain-Kennedy (Amnesty)

12. Implemented a socialized medicine in MA called RomneyCare complete with an Individual Mandate and $50 abortions.

13. Nominated 27 Democrats (out of 36 nominations) for judgeships in MA, many of them extreme left-wingers.

Once Rick Perry (and Gov Palin before him) was slammed and denegrated on FR, I could see quite clearly that principles meant nothing. So the answer to your question is no.

As another FReeper says in his tagline: ‘Our founding fathers would have been shooting by now’ (not a quote but close enough).

NOT VOTING IS NOT AN OPTION.

If you can't see the differences between Obama and Romney, you have a lot to learn.

I've been on FR 14 years. I have always formed my own opinions and never sought advice on how to vote from FReepers...and FReepers were a lot smarter in those days!

there are many here pimping for RINOmny

Voting against Obama is not necessarily voting for Romney...Changing the party does not come by not electing its presidential candidate...do you think the prospective RINO Senate Committee chairs care a hoot about who is president? They only care about their own chairmanships...

You want to change the party, you vote down ticket as you say for conservatives in house and senate, and get them to lean on the RINO president, if thats the way things go. You keep the fire lit under him the entire time he is there. You don't gain anything by leaving Obama in power.

This thought that 8 years of Bush led us to Obama is hogwash. Intolerance of the so-called (intolerant) conservative to the point of staying home on election night led us to Obama. If staying away from the election booth because McCain was a RINO was supposed to do the party good, explain what that good was please. Explain how that has helped the country please.

The 2010 TEA party movement was a rebellion against Obama and the libs, and yes, big government RINO's, not a rebellion against Bush.

Romney is my last choice and I would have preferred Palin or Newt, but Palin did not follow through and, barring some miracle, Newt ain't going to be the one. I would love to see a Newt upset between now and the convention. But if that does not happen, I will vote ABO even if its Romney because I can raise hell via the congressional Reps to keep him in line if he goes "stupid" while in Office. Obama will not pay one bit of attention to the congressional wishes or the electorate.

I really like and value FR. Everyone's entitled to their opinion. But all the "my way or the highway" attitude is really a turnoff, and I have been watching it escalate lately, or so it seems. Someone made a comment recently about FR marginalizing itself as an extreme site, and I am starting to believe that is what I am seeing. I find myself avoiding the political threads just because I don't have time or energy to devote to the arguing I know will ensue if I make a comment.

I am not looking for anyone's flame or wrath or ban, and not looking to be on JimRob's radar, but this is the honest opinion of one conservative veteran voter.

With utmost respect to Jim and all those in support of his position, I agree with most all of your concerns and thoughts regarding Romney as nominee, but show me a viable alternative to the disaster of Obama. Without this, the Romney complaints are starting to sound like the rants of spoiled kids.

I am signing off now and probably will ignore replies, certainly will ignore the flames I expect will proceed. I expect my thoughts here to fall on deaf ears...but I have been biting my tongue on this subject for some time now and after so many of the "Never Vote Romney" threads where folks like me who believe its most important to rid ourselves of Obama are called "pimps", I felt the need to speak up at least this time.

FRegards

I’m not going to give you grief over a vote for Mitt, but he’s not getting my vote only to see me trash him non-stop for four years.  I don’t share his values.  I’m sorry the party couldn’t do better, but consider me out.

That, sir, is the hat trick. I'll be writing in Sarah Palin. Understanding your position, I support your plan.  Sarah is not my cup of tea, but she is yours and you should cast you vote in the manner you wish.

Just a note here to the asshats who are bound to accuse me of "any vote not for Romney is a vote for Obama."  I live in Utah. Romney saved brother (former governor) Leavitt from the Olympics scandal indictments, so they're favorite sons of a feather. It's a MoTown thing. If, God forbid, Romney is the nominee, he'll handily take Utah.  IMO, a no vote for Romney is as much a vote for him, as a vote for Obama.  Either claim is preposterous.  I had a family member say that my non-vote for McCain in 2008 was a vote for Obama.  I responded that they should be happy then, because a no vote for Obama should be seen as a vote for McCain.  They didn't find that humorous.  Glares to the "X".  Har...

BTW, I'm a $2/day FReeper, not a Republican, have never donated to the Republican Party, and will vote my conscience. The Tea Party is alive and kicking, thank you. There are a lot of (R)'s in the house, but the leadership is (R)ino-e.  Over the last 43 years, I have spent all but one of them as a Registered Republican.  I don't think I've ever cast a vote for a Democrat at any level.  While my natural leanings are toward the Republican party since I registered as one at 18 years of age by reasoned choice (alternative was to back the party of Jane Fonda and anti-war, and anti-U.S. designs), when I became aware at what I'd reference as an elevated level, I was not inclined to back liberal actions within it's ranks.

In truth, I have seen Republicans make screw-ups over the years, but they were mostly an anomoly.  During the cold war, we stood as one against Communism and it's treachery.  Once the U. S. S. R. disolved, some within our ranks seemed to think it would be okay to move farther Left, actually buying into their concepts.  Others were merely luke warm Republicans, nowhere near the lock-step of those who hold this nation dear, and are not willing to sell out on Soverignty, our Founding Documents, or our Founding Fathers and their ideals and concepts.

Further note to "Republicans": y'all best be replacing the clowns at the top of your (R) establishment. In my estimation, they suck more than the out-of-the-closet communist (D)'s. At least the commies are committed to their effort, and the bastards are accomplishing what they set out to do, unlike the spineless Stupid Party. "Spineless, stupid party..", boy does that hit the nail on the head.  The current House of Representatives is an embarrassment to Conservatism.  I am constantly motivated to apologize to the Citizens of the United States for the House's lack of clarity and energy in defense of our national soul.  This is top level treachery IMO.

Brokered convention? Hmmmm. Romney beats the Halfrican? Hmmmm. Romney's coattails drag a majority of Tea Party candidates to the Senate? Hmmmm. What could possibly go wrong?  Well, if they fall in line behind Romney and pass his desires with gusto, we could be in a world of hurt.  Taking note of his past judicial nominees, it disgusts me to think he and not Obama might be the person to flip the court.  If they stand up to him, we might dodge the bullet.  Frankly, with what we're presented with, a deadlocked federal government should be best.  Then again, Obama will attempt to rule by Executive Order, thumbing his nose at our three branch government model.  And of course the Republicans will be mute.

See ya in the gulag.
...he said with 25% humor and 75% real concern.  I hear ya.

I have said this several times now...I am not happy with Romney, but I believe he has the nomination. I will vote for Romney in order to defeat Obama. No one here has posted a single better alternative. Most of the posts are about staying home, staying true. That act will guarantee a second Obama administration. How is that better than a Romney administration?

Obama is the enemy, not Romney. I wanted Palin, then Perry, then Newt. We are getting Romney. We just need to defeat the greatest existential threat to the country: Obama. I am not happy, but there it is.

Thank you for reminding me what Breitbart said. If Obama gets re-elected he will have a mandate. That really frightens me because, for sure, the Occupy movement, the unions, and people like Jackson, Sharpton, Pelosi, Jackson Lee, and the New Black Panthers will all be controlling our lives. Do I want that...NO.

Do I want to give Obama the chance to really destroy our economic strength and status, to shame us throughout the world, to continue to chip away at our moral and Christian values, to insert Sharia law and support Muslim advances to take over our country, and to change our Constitution and rights...A BIG NO!

I really don't care for Romney, I know his faults and am not stupid. But, even if his conservative record is not strong, even with the falsehoods and his liberal leaning past policies, and even though he is another "insider" I doubt that he will let the unions, the Occupiers, the Muslims, and the Sharpton-types run wild and continue on their anti-American/anti-Capitalism/anti-Christian/race and class warfare paths.

I guess I have to decide if I want to get part of the pie, or give it all up to those who want to destroy what remains whole and beautiful about our country. If there is a reasonable chance that Newt can save us from both Obama and Romney I will thank God. But without that chance, I have to go with the man who is, at least, an American ... a man who believes in and worships God, says the Pledge of Allegiance with respect and honor, has a wife who is proud of this country, and whose goals for this country, though not as conservative as my own, are not for us to be a nation second to any other country.

You are excerpting my comments with the same degree of accuracy that NBC edited the Zimmerman tape.

I wrote: Assume hypothetically that you had objected to Bush as much as you do Romney. Thus, if only 25% of the 2000+Florida Freepers had followed your advice and NOT voted for Bush, then Gore would be president.

That is indisputable..

I don’t think it really matters who we vote for. Obama vs Romney? Not much of a difference. We are reaping what we as a nation have sown.

You can always vote for Newt...he said he wants to put this nation back under the Soverignity of God.."One Nation Under God"... and often references this in his speeches...along with Mentioning God in the documents of our founding fathers.

Though you are right to say we are reaping what we've sown...there is still time.. and still a Candidate... who is willing to change the tragectory we're on in all areas...and that's Newt.

God often comes into the affairs at the last moment...but I have not forgotten that it is those who bear the name of Christ whom He speaks to when he says:

"If MY people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land."..2cron:7:14

I do think this election is our last chance...and I do believe only Newt can beat Obama....if either Romney or Obam win ...yes, judgement will continue.

Of course, it's up to Sarah whether she elects to abandon every fundamental American principle she's sworn her life to, but I, for one, will not be fooled.

On another thread I caused an uproar when I pointed out that if SP goes to the dark side that she would be just as much a part of the problem as any other RINO.

I don’t see what’s controversial about that considering we used to catch hell as being cultists. Whether it’s SP (and I too, doubt she’ll support Romney) you, me or whoever, caving in to the GOPE is the problem that led to Romney. Whether it’s SP or Ronaldus Magnus were he alive today, Romney support would end mine.

Sarah will do what she believes is right. That is one thing you can take to the bank with this lady.

I consider myself as informed as you...plus I'm not a group thinker... will vote not to please you but as I choose. I will do nothing to assist BO getting a second term. If you don' like it...tough sh#t!

What is it about Leftists and Romney Supporters with using projection?

Your post, and your support for ROmney for the reasons you espouse is the epitome of Group-Think.

That vile doesn’t wash off - vote for someone with those credentials and you share the consequences - tainted forever. It’s not so strange that liars are attracted to liars.

You want evil you will get it and more than you bargained for because barry and crew will be making SOS out of him. Missy ain’t giving up her lifestyle for that maggot.

I will vote for Romney in order to defeat Obama. No one here has posted a single better alternative.

Bless your heart, dear one. Yes, multiple Freepers have plotted the way forward. If you haven't noticed, I can only blame the Kool-Aid you're drinking. There is still a real conservative remaining in the race (!).

Sweetykins, there's the truth, and then there's lies. You have got to learn to differentiate between the two. Romney is Obama's near-identical twin, politically speaking. If you haven't honestly examined his record, then I can understand your missing that, but it's true. It's been documented beyond a shadow of doubt on this very website.

I care, so I'm gonna help you out here:

:-)

If Peter Pan is the Republican nominee, then he gets my vote. Give us Romney for four years, then a revitalized, pissed off Tea Party bent on cutting the shrunken balls off the RINO establishment, then run Sarah in 2016.

Anybody, even a fictional character, is better than Obama. In 1974 at Winter Park High School, in Winter Park, Florida we ran a fictional student named “Dooley Higgins” for class president. He won.

Dooley Higgins would be better than Obama.

No worries here. This conservative has long since jumped over to the Constitution Party and will be supporting their nominee (hopefully Virgil Goode).

That is very true, but JR's premise is simply that there is so little difference between the two, there isn't really a choice at all. As I've said on other threads, voting for Obama is like adding two and two, whereas voting for Mitt is like multiplying two and two. You get the same result, just a different route there.

Let us not forget though, Newt is still in this. He still could win the nomination. It's going to need a minor miracle but hey, I believe in miracles...

Romney is not now, nor was he ever, a Republican let alone close to being conservative. The sheep are being fooled.

Yes indeed but maybe they like Romney are not really Sheep?...

Freepers didn't decide to go for Romney til the press began pushing Romney as the candidate....unless they were faking it to begin with...but they bought it.....amazing since the Primary is just half way thru!

Had it not been for Santorum Newt would be taking on Romney and Obama right now and we'd be enjoying the show!......maybe he will anyway...it's not over yet!

On to Convention!!!!!! Go Newt Go!!!!!!

two-bit, lying political whore.

Then, we have fallen. From a nation of virtue to one of vice. Our political whore has to beat their political whore for someone to win. Obama is the blue-ribbon lying whore by any measure. But nobody really wins, we all lose in the long run. Eh?

I must admit that I thought Romney's capitalist instincts could lance the boil of communism that has plagued us since FDR, if nothing else.

Tailpipe Lovers and Womb Life Killas will meet their nemesis should we re-direct the nation's attention toward success rather than failure (and the rewards that come with it). The Homo has no one to take over the 'family' business with no children, same for the Abortion Queen. Oops!

Somehow the lying whore rises to the top. Why's that? A lying whore media?

The media IS the message and ours couldn't be more corrupt. They've destroyed many and set the course for our country. Sadly for them, people have their own GPS and aren't thrilled with landing in Shitsville. So, whether it's Romney or Oblahblah it's "All Aboard for Shitsville!".

How about we Alynski the media; freeze the target and ridicule them to death? I can think of no greater purpose for an internet site with America's greater interests at heart. Were Thomas Jefferson alive today he'd be under arrest for all the black-powder burns left at the New York Times.

Sweatykins, I assume you are talking about Newt. He’s toast. If every Freeper votes for him, and all of their families and all of their friends, then he only loses by 30 points.

Like so many others on this thread, you claim that there is some true blue alternative to Romney. There isn’t. It’s April 14, the election is in less than 7 months. How exactly would your candidate win?

Wish it were otherwise. I responded to you without calling names. You cannot, but we all know what that says about you. Now condescend elsewhere. Or answer my question. I think I know which you will do.

Jim, you are right.
I remember months ago, I saw one of the top GOP elites smugly look into the camera and say, “We know who our candidate will be”!!!! I was friggin shocked! This is what they do to us every time now, because they know we don’t have any choice. And they really know this election, they have screwed us over by chasing away every good conservative. They make me want to barf!!!!!!!! If we as conservatives, do not stand up to these people, then our country is gone or it will get so bad, that we will be drawn into a civil war again. WE MUST have a third party if we cannot take over the Republican Party!

What was it Carl Rove said?...Something about the Conservatives will have temper tantrums but in the end they’ll support Romney....as if we’re kids...what an insult!

Just the way he worded this and delivery of made my skin crawl...I was so miffed! But I agree that they manipulate...give us just enough to keep us in the game and then drag us over their finish line.

Not me...not this time..not going to do it!

The point is that four years of Mittens will still do catastrophic damage to the country AND destroy the GOP’s chances in 2016.

Romney has succeeded in socialism where the democrats have long failed. He successfully imposed a compulsory government controlled health insurance program in a state complete with mandates and penalties for those who refuse to bow to government tyranny and then it was used as a blueprint for a national socialist health care plan. Reagan warned us this would happen. And it has. Led by so-called Republicans. Now the GOP wants to reward this socialist bastard with the presidency. This after he used his Republican position to push/support abortion, the homosexual agenda, global warming, amnesty, gun control, liberal judges, TARP, bailouts, Porkulus, debt limit increases, and every liberal/progressive program to come down the pike. No thank you. Not going to lay down and say thank you, GOP, roll me over and do me again.
