A reminder for those who are not receiving the message:
Romney is a pathological compulsive liar. Lie after lie papered over with more lies. Doesnt even flinch when caught in bald faced lies, simply tells another big whopper to cover up or dodge the issue. Funny thing, the man actually seems to believe his own latest lies and simply ignores the glaring record of his past actions/lies. And you have true blue establishment elite RINO Republicans like Karl Rove enabling and backing up his lies. Their motivation is simply to hang on to power (and riches) any way they can.
Ive stated many times since Romney started running for the presidency way back when that Id never vote for him and I will not. He cannot lie his way out of his decades long record of support for abortion, Roe v Wade, planned parenthood, gay rights, gun control, global warming, amnesty, liberal judges, big government, compulsory or socialized health care (RomneyCommieCare), mandates, Keynesian economics, support and approval of TARP, bailouts, stimulus packages, i.e, every damn liberal progressive issue that comes down the pike.
Cmon. These are the reasons the tea party sprang up and the reasons he and Rove loathe the tea party and our tea party conservative candidates. Romney famously expressed his loathing for Reagan-Bush conservatism several years ago when he was trying to run to the left of Ted Kennedy and now hes cloaking himself in Reagan conservatism, knowing full well that its a lie, but he knows its the only way he can possibly win, er buy the Republican nomination.
Screw Romney!! I absolutely will not support or vote for a proven compulsive liar with a known record of abortion and big government socialism, liberal appointments, etc. He still lies about RomneyCommieCare today. Calls it a conservative solution. Get real!!
Listen to what Ronald Reagan had to say about the elites pushing socialism on America via compulsory health insurance:
Ronald Reagan speaks out against RomneyCommieCare
There will be no campaign for this Massachusetts liberal liar on FR!!
Damn the libs and RINOS, full steam ahead!!
But no matter what happens we must turn out in November to vote IN as many conservatives and vote OUT as many rats as possible at all levels of government. If we don't have a conservative at the top of the ticket we must turn out anyway and vote straight conservative DOWN ticket!! Just think of it an off cycle election and pour on the TEA!! It'll be doubly important that we control both houses of congress and as many statehouses as possible.
Restore the 10th amendment!! Impeach the leftist president whoever he may be!! Restore Liberty!! Rebellion comes from the bottom up!!
WOO HOO!! I CAN SEE NOVEMBER FROM MY HOUSE!!
No Bama!! No Romney!! Go tea party rebellion!!
Your choice is Obamney or Obamney. I prefer cheering on Gingrich and denying Obamney 1144. You seem stuck on defeatism.
You've gone wobbly on us.
You are compromised.
You've let your fear of Obama cause you to betray your values, principles and integrity.
You are cowardly hypocrites trying to drag the rest of us down your path of faithlessness.
It takes courage to stand your ground in the face of adversity, against the odds, against overwhelming naysaying of sheeplike herd mentality.
Be encouraged or GTFO, you are stinking up the place with your fail.
More smoke and mirrors. Address the info in Post 1534. Unless of course you’re the Dem operative you accuse everyone else of being.
Just out of curosity, who in your opinion was the conservative in the Republican party running, after Michele Bachmann dropped out of the race? To me there really wasn't any. Rick Santorum came the closest, but I had my doubts about him too.
BTW, I remember a time when Newt was absolutely despised here, remember the Pelosi commercial he did? how do you know he won't embrace the global warming kooks if he wins? 2 can play that game if you want to go there.
As I read this thread, ALL of it, it is full of opinions including mine. some view this with fear, anger and confusion. They are saying WTH is going on here?
So, I will offer another one of opinions. I have been contributing my opinions here since 2004, been flamed and came close to be excluded from this valuable site but it’s all good, opinions must be confronted.
We are not robots here, if that were the case the site would be worthless.
To me, this is probably the best tread I’ve been privileged to watch and contribute to, by far. Even the anger, vitriol and bitterness reminds me what it must have been like when our country was being formed.
They were perilous times, our country was at a turning point in history. One can only imagine the conversations that were taking place at that time.
Does anyone think those conversations were without descent, anger and vitriol?
Does anyone think the all just got together one fine day and said...’Ok, guys, lets do this thing’ without fear, division and heated debate?
Much could be said the same thing is occurring today. Our country is at a turning point in our history. The same arguments, the same opinions are being expressed and the same fear that we could be at losing our Republic.
One of the most critical opinions and declarations by our Founding Fathers they ALL believed in was that we are a nation created under the hand of GOD.
It’s my opinion and I’m damn sure sticking to it.
Oh, and now you answer my question. When Palin, Bachmann, Santorum, Newt and the Tea Party endorse Romney, will you call them “idiots” too?
Going to cross post something I wrote on another thread (http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2871541/posts) as a cautionary tale. Bear in mind I am in the UK, which is a bit further down the path you are now travelling.
The entitlement culture and the deliberate degradation of education killed us.
We raised a generation where the way to get housed, fed and money for a few beers for people who had no worthwhile skills was to breed like rats. Any pregnant girl got her own, subsidised flat, child benefit payments once the kid was born, and income support to bring her up to a basic standard of living. The more kids shed have, the more money shed have.
The kids watched and learned to game the system almost from birth. Most of them knew education was useless, since it didnt get you a job that would pay more than breeding. Heck, if you search for Bread on youtube, youll find an entire series about it - and it is a freaking comedy!
At the same time, education became a huge political football and was dumbed down in the name of inclusiveness. I caught the first wave of this - my first year at university was basically a recap of what I had learned (in school) when I was 15 years old! The powers that be do not want educated, well informed citizens, so they made sure that being one was almost impossible without significant effort.
And why try? You have the safety net, right?
That is the hell of it - it was good intentions that destroyed us.
I do hold that any member of society has the duty to help the ones who slip through the gaps (probably still slightly brainwashed there, but it is also a tenet of the Church) but people turned what was meant to be a temporary help into a lifestyle.
Our moment of no return was in (I think) 1997. The Conservative party were in power and were planning a huge overhaul of the benefits system. The unions had been firmly put in their place - and I am not anti union, but the excesses had gone too far until Thatcher trimmed them back. That created a lot of resentment among the left.
The takers looked, saw that they would be uncomfortable, maybe having to get off their backsides and find a job while having no qualifications or skills, and Labour got elected in a landslide. They voted for bread and circuses, and the producers were simply outnumbered.
Sort of where you are now, but it took us much longer to get to the same point. One of the things that I think delayed our fall slightly is a silly one on the surface - we pay to watch TV. If TV watching was free, wed have fallen completely 2 decades ago.
We were killed by good intentions. No one stood up and said “This is wrong.” And so - our culture, a tiny island which once ruled half the planet, died.
Look, I know people are tired. Hurting. Broke. If nothing else, this thread shows that.
The Primary season is not over and there is still a conservative in the race.
If you can’t send money - and many can’t now, thanks to the economy being flushed - give your time.
Work the phones. People hang up on robocalls but are at least willing to listen to a real person.
Hit the streets and go door to door.
At least TRY to go for a brokered convention. Send the clear and unmistakable signal to the GOP that you WILL be heard and will not be herded.
DJ - not particularly aimed at you, as you ain’t giving up. You were just the last post on thread when I started this!
Very good post!
The rest of your post isn't worth a reply.
I’ve been answering you. Do keep up. And forget the games. I don’t play.
They won’t answer your question. It makes their heads explode.
I agree with you. I’m wondering if Rush and Mark’s show threads will still be allowed to be posted, since they have both stated they will support whoever, including Romney, is the Republican nominee.
I was hoping it was going to be Newt, with all his warts, but it’s not going to be. This isn’t just about getting Obama out, it’s about getting his whole administration out. We can not take any more years of people like Holder.
Every one of the Republican challengers, has stated they will support the candidate no matter who it is, with the exception of Ron Paul. He flatly refused to do so, meaning his primary concern is not defeating obsama.
Let someone try to make the case that is true conservatism.
Or is possible that all of bluster is really all about him, and his potential third party run?
No doubt, obsama will have his paid bloggers working on that from now on.
Of course it isn’t to you. I would appreciate an answer though on whether or not you’re going to call Palin, Bachmann, Santorum, Newt and the Tea Party idiots when they eventually endorse the Republican Nominee? it’s a very simple question to answer.
He has a way of clarifying a problem.
Actually friend, they aren’t good intentions. The more people that are government supported, the more malleable they are. When your bread and butter comes from the government, you don’t vote against them. Same goes for education. If one can think for themselves, they are a danger to the government machine.
Weird.
BTW, I was rooting for Bachmann, I was hoping she'd either be Speaker of the House or the Republican nominee, it didn't work either way for me. We need strong Tea Party candidates to keep the next President in check, whomever that President is.
I don’t care who they support. Why would I call them anything? I don’t listen to talking heads either.
You haven’t answered my question at all, you’re deflecting and evading it.
Here’s how bad it is in hard-core Republican precincts in Texas ...
I just received an email from my Precinct Chairman regarding Ron Paul. My precinct is very conservative and can always be counted on to deliver votes for the Republican Party. We’ve never gone Democrat ... even when many of us participated in Operation Chaos. The precinct still went Republican.
So my Precinct Chairman, who is very hard-core Republican, emailed the precinct blast list to tell us that she very reluctantly attended a Ron Paul rally and came away convinced that Ron Paul, even with his foreign policy problems, is still better than Romney because he is strongly conservative on every issue that Romney is not.
I’m dumbfounded. Newt better get his @ss to Texas.
BTW we’ve decided not to move to winner-take-all in the May 29th Texas primary.
Well said
Look how much Obama has done to this country in just over 3 years. You really think that he won't pound the final coffin nails into America in the next 4 years? You are the dreaner my man.
P.S. You have already swallowed huge doses of the kool-aid. Especially if you think Newt is a conservative.
But you called me an idiot because I’ll support the eventual nominee yet you refuse to call those you support idiots for eventually doing the same thing?
You have not addressed the info in post 1534. You’re too busy posting bull excrement. You dance and point fingers in order to avoid addressing Romney’s liberalism. You sound like the liberal shill you accuse others of being.
And you still are. You accuse those who refuse to support liberal Romney of being Democrats. That is stupid.
Any voter that willingly supports a politician that stands for abortion, socialized medicine, gun grabbing, homosexual rights, higher taxes, government bailouts and liberal judges is NOT conservative.
It is fundamentally inconsistent to say that you’re “ABO” but you won’t vote for Romney. Not only is Romney included in “anyone,” you’re also refusing to vote for the only person who has a chance to beat Obama.
In these last hours of relative freedom, I feel it my duty to express the fundamentals of just what we're all arguing about here. The basics are all outlined in our Declaration, and in our Constitution, as well as the voluminous writings of the Framers. What more can I add to those words of timeless wisdom?
Lord help the American people rediscover the correct path to real freedom.
It takes courage to stand in the face of fear when both Obama and Romney fly against what our nation is about. But courage comes, when fear's abound, for those who know right from wrong, good vs evil, and the triumph our founders knew in discerning the difference.
Americans have forfeited the ability to discern Wind,..... further, complacent in the very liberty and freedoms God has established and given us. Perhaps they are going to have to truly see what it is to not have those....I pray it is not too late for hearts and minds of men to turn..but it may very well be...'deception' appears to now rule the day.
"God grant me the courage not to give up what I think is right, even though I think it is hopeless."......Admiral Chester W. Nimitz
"It is when people forget God that tyrants forge their chains.".....Patrick Henry
"Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it's time to pause and reflect." Mark Twain
"If ever time should come, when vain and aspiring men shall possess the highest seats in Government, our country will stand in need of its experienced patriots to prevent its ruin.".....Samuel Adams
In reality it doesn’t matter who I vote for since I live in MD. It’ll go to the creep in the WH know matter who the Rep. nominee is. I’m just concerned that so many here that could make a difference will make the rest of us spend 4 more miserable years. I do no think Romney is evil, like many people say. I’d also much rather his wife as First Lady. She seems like a decent person, despite some of her political leanings.
Is it what I would have wanted. No, it isn’t, but things rarely are exactly what we want. Besides, it’d make the liberals unhappy if Romney wins and that makes me happy.
You should too.
You don’t know and it is certain that many of them are here to try to make sure the Kenyan Marxist in chief is re-elected and gets his SCOTUS picks. The only possible way to know otherwise is if JR knows them personally, or they have attended FR events or organized them or they have been consistent conservative posters and donated regularly to FR while they have been a member.
I’m not saying if people don’t donate that they are not to be trusted. Past posting history speaks volumes. That is the key to outing trolls. A troll won’t post everyday. There will be gaps, they will show up posting more around elections, it’s not hard to figure out.
I have addressed it, you just refuse to see it, and you’re citing post 1534 yet you refuse to acknowledge that Palin, Bachmann, Santorum, Newt and the Tea Party will endorse the nominee no matter what you post in #1534.
If you read that post again, I don’t think he or she was referring to Jim, but to many of the posters on FR.
Abandon my conservative values and vote for Romney, or
Abandon my conservative values and vote for someone else or not vote at all, thereby helping to re-elect Obama which will continue to seriously hurt Americans and the Constitution.
Although both alternatives leave a bad taste in my mouth, when it comes down to the election it's really not a hard decision to make.
True, but that is how you sell it to the population as a whole.
Most people are good. Willing to hold out their hand to help someone who has fallen get back on their feet. You could no more turn your back on a starving child or friend than I could. It is both our blessing and our curse.
Government comes along and says “Well, if we all chip in, we can help people without shorting ourselves too much.” If the people who are helped are willing to go along - to accept a bit of help for a short time while they get back on their feet - yes, it works.
It is when people realize that they can get a free ride without effort that the system breaks down. And lets face it - most people are lazy, given the chance.
You did NOT address the links in 1534. And I don’t care who they endorse. No matter HOW many times that you post it.
YES, IT IS!!!!!!!!! It is reason to vote for ABO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We have a conservative candidate to vote for..'Newt'...the people are "choosing" to vote against Newt and instead vote for the fraud liberal Romeny.....the blame will go to those who refused to vote for the last standing conservative.
On a different note, how have you been? Haven't seen you in awhile. We seem to "miss" one another.
If I were to support a 3rd party candidate it would have to be someone from outside of the current party system (cough)Sarah(cough)
Ron Paul can pound sand.
Can you imagine 4 more years of Obama where he doesn’t have to worry about re-election? where he can possibly appoint 1-3 Supreme Court Justices? and he supports the job Eric Holder is doing? and having Obama pushing our economy over the cliff? where those who depend on Government out number those who don’t? across the board Amnesty. The list goes on.
IF Romney secures the nomination, and IF he does not chose a conservative VP... there is a slight chance I will write in Sarah or Newt.
And you won’t acknowledge that in spite of your links, the people you supported or are continuing to support they’ll in-turn support the person you’re linking to.
As phoney a “conservative” as Romney is (and God knows I have in no way supported him and would not vote for him in the primaries), to suggest that there is no difference between him and Obama is simply not true.
Address Romney's liberalism as posted in 1534.
That’s not true. Rick almost won Michigan and WI. The latter was tipped at the last minute by the Ryan and Johnson endorsements from a desperate GOP-E who knew Rick had a good chance of winning my home state.
Newt won one state so far. He only surged after taking on the CNN reporter at the debate and that was short lived.
Rick has never had Rino support..or the media. He accomplished what he did with grassroots conservative activism.
