Romney’s wrong. I’m LDS. A lot of my friends are LDS. Every single one of them is fervently anti-abortion and anti-gay marriage.
This is just another reason why I see Romney and Reid in the same light. I’m not voting for him. I’m writing in Newt. A line has to be drawn somewhere, and we’ve got to hunker down and prepare for a fight. It’s only going to get worse before it begins to get better.

I plan to vote for Newt in North Carolina’s primary and if he bows out, I’ll see if I can write in someone, and if that isn’t possible, I’ll vote for conservatives for all the other positions and leave the top position blank. In the general, I’ll vote for the one who boils the frog slowly, but I don’t have to like it.
Leaving the top spot blank is as good as voting for Obama. That’s what he’s hoping for. Can’t believe everyone one of us is not going to do everything we can to make sure Obama doesn’t go back in...that includes voting for someone who would never get our vote if Obama wasn’t the opposition. It is necessary to keep our country from totally falling.

Make your argument AFTER he gets the nomination. You're wasting your breath now. If Romney loses 55% of the upcoming delegates, or less but loses others through defections or challenging FL and AZ WTA rules, then it goes to a convention floor fight.
About half of the upcoming delegates are from the type of states Romney has consistently lost.
And let's see, would we rather have a liberal President who our majority party in Congress will oppose every step of the way, or a liberal President they'll "take one for the team" on? The former situation is preferable to getting a bunch of liberal laws passed in the name of the GOP. Not to mention we can ditch Obama in 4 years, might be stuck with the Romorrhoid for 8.

I am a sincere conservative. And I don’t see how a sincere conservative could NOT vote for anyone over Obama. If we can get the commie out of the White House, then we can go back to fighting for true conservatism. If we don’t get him out, conservatism never stands a chance; our country doesn’t stand a chance. It’s about so much more than liberalism and conservatism in this election. No matter how liberal Romney really is, he is not trying to fulfill “his father’s dreams” by taking down America. Obama is; that’s his mission. We must stop him. The game of politics can continue after we get him out.
Good to hear. I wouldn’t have any problem voting for a Mormon who shared my conservative views on what policies the government should have. Not sure why Mormons would want Reid and Romney out there as their most public spokespeople. Seems like they can only do damage to your brand.
Newt’s getting zero bounce with Santorum out. Santorum’s numbers are actually holding steady.
Unless that changes drastically and soon, the best option to deny Romney delegates is Santorum, not Newt. Newt’s just not going to win any states with the 8 percent nationally that Gallup has him at right now.
If Obama goes back in, it will because we conservatives put him back in. If we would band together, let go of our pride and vote for Romney, then we could get B. Hussein Obama out of our White House. Otherwise, we are just playing into the Dems’ hands.

You don’t appear to know what you’re talking about. Polls don’t seem to have been done since Santorum exited. And national polls don’t mean anything when half the voters have voted and we’re waiting for the other half. Everyone could be due for a shock once they see the determination of conservatives to deny the Romorrhoid his coronation.
I believe Romney has legalistically threaded the needle on this issue in accordance with the teachings of his church.
But I also believe that he lied in a blatant and calculated way to the voters in MA when he represented himself as if pro-choice. As he stressed at the very end of that video, he vetoed any legislation that itself was pro-choice with an understanding that he’d have violated the tenets of his church not to.

Haha, are you nuts? He passed Romneycare which, as Santorum explained, was written in such a way as to allow abortion funding. He also said he would maintain the pro-choice laws on the books...that’s called being pro-choice.
Absolutely true. Thing is, there are a lot of LDS people out there who are pretty darn conservative, yet they will vote for a label out of ignorance (the non-knowledgable definition) no different than someone will vote for the guy with the R by his name, or if he’s black, or if he’s a fan of the New York Knicks.
What irks me is that the GOP-e seems to have picked someone who is a liberal moderate, labeled them with an R and thrust him in the limelight as the one we need, why? Because he’s LDS. And since LDS people tend to be conservative... well then he’s going to have a following. I guarantee you that if he wasn’t LDS, he would not have the backing that he currently enjoys. It really is frustrating to watch.
I get the whole idea of getting Obama out of office. I get that it might be better “policy-wise” to put in an Obama-lite rather than have Obama himself. I don’t agree with it, but I get it. The problem lies with the GOP itself, and someone has got to send a message to them that they don’t get to pick who represents us. They don’t run the show.

Yeah, I do believe a part of the strategy all along was to pick a candidate who had that solid base of Mormon support, and then build off of that. They used his Mormonism to keep him the “frontrunner” all last year while he was stuck at around 20% in the polls, most of that probably from Mormons, who are very likely GOP primary voters far beyond their representation in the population. He couldn’t have gotten to where he did without the block Mormon backing.
Mitt ain't ready to be a Republican nominee for anything and never will be.
Fox news is the only data that we do have.
Fox news shows that Santorum supporters are breaking equally for Paul (30 percent), Newt (30 percent), Romney (20 percent), and the rest back to undecided.
Ron Paul is getting a bigger bounce than Newt.
Newt needs 100 percent of Santorum’s supporters to come to him, and he’s only getting 30.
With the current numbers, Romney’s going to win every remaining state.

You can’t make the mistake of applying national poll numbers to particular state contests. New York and Texas will have very different vote spreads.
The possibility is more to deny Romney the nomination, not to have Newt win outright. So votes going to Paul isn’t the worst thing that can happen.
With 11 days to go until the next primary, a lot of things can change too. I just hope Santorum doesn’t re-endorse Romney in the primary. That would be enough to make me never support him for any position again.

Well he will be. Our only choice. It’s going to be another hold your nose and vote. Well not quite that bad. There is absolutely no other alternative now. If you want Bam out of there Mitt is our only available tool. This is what separates republicans from democrats. They feel we analyze facts and act.
Here’s the problem. Gingrich was at 20 percent when Mississippi and Alabama rolled around.
Gingrich is now at 12 percent. Romney was at 33, and is now at 46.
So Romney has strengthened 13 points while Gingrich has lost 8.
Gingrich needs to be at 20 percent in order to be competitive to Romney when he is at 33 percent in the South. Gingrich at 12, will only get about double that, 24 percent in the Southern states, which isn’t going to be enough to overcome Romney at 46, who will probably get about 35 in the South.
So I would say TX is 35-30-24-12, right now with Santorum at 30, and Gingrich at 24.
If Santorum support breaks 30/30/20, it ends up with 35(+8), 24(+11), 12(+11), or 43 - 35 - 23.
Romney’s up by about 8 in TX based on those national numbers. This is very bad news for Gingrich at this point, because it assumes that all of Santorum’s support moves over.
I’d like to restate that. The difference between a conservative and a liberal not democrat and republican if you catch my drift.
Here is the problem.

are fabricated because he PAYS for them.
