Cavuto: Ann Romney hasn't had it easy
Fox News ^ | 4-13-12 | Neil Cavuto

Posted on 04/13/2012 3:50:39 PM PDT by afraidfortherepublic

So Ann Romney doesn't have any real life experiences?

Doesn't know a thing about difficulty?

Or pain?

…that her gilded life has shielded her from the day-to-day concerns of average folks?

Now, you would think after Hilary Rosen spouted that nonsense, we would be done debating this nonsense.

But you'd be wrong.

Here to pick up the shovel and happily dig an even deeper clueless pit…no less than the president of NOW, the National Organization of Women...Terry O'Neill.

…happily chiming in that neither Ann Romney nor her husband, for that matter, have the, and I quote here, "Kind of life experience and if not, the imagination, to really understand what most American families are going through right now."

What?

What the hell does that mean?

"Life experience" and "imagination"?

I suspect either would be news to Ann Romney.

...whose charmed life raising six boys, no less, apparently couldn't prevent her from getting cancer.

And only a few years later, multiple sclerosis.

The odds of getting both in one lifetime, are about as daunting and rarified as living in that supposedly cushy one percent…times a thousand!

I should know.

Because full disclosure here…I too have had cancer. And I too have MS.

Now, I’m not saying this not to get your sympathy…although it’ll be coming in handy If might rub you the wrong way or if I can get out of work at home.

But to remind these mindless, heartless critics –Let’s get back to Ann, stick to the issues, and stick all this other nonsense somewhere else.

And for God's sake, show a little empathy.

~snip~

I've known much poorer folks who'd stop everything for a hangnail.

“Who gives a rats @ss about Ann Romney.”

I care for Ann Romney and Neil Cavuto because I have MS as well.

There is no cure; you just try to manage it. Even management is hard.

But, they didn’t make up the “hasn’t had a job” narrative. That Hilary R. is responsible for this stupid stuff when US has much more on the platter.

Obama should have reeled Hilary in, but, who knows. It might have been his idea all along.

Well, agreed, but often elections turn on small and inconsequential things because these are the things people react to. Dukakis in the tank, Dean’s scream, Kerry on his jet skis. A single tear, a single word selection, looking at your watch during a debate, (George HW Bush), bad make-up (Nixon debate) and so on. The important issues and facts are the words, but these sorts of things are the tune.

You might not, however she single handedly slapped down the entire democratic party this week.

Yes, but she's still married to Mitt Romney.

I don't know whose idea it was, but I think it was all very deliberate. Attack Mitt Romney's wife, get the media focused on that, and they'll ignore everything else going on.

I heard Niel’s Common Sense today. I have some stuff wrong but so far, not as much as Niel or Ann. Good on them and I wish everyone the best health possible.

Mitt Romney has an MBA and did and does work for a living.

I don't care what "education" someone does or doesn't have. I'm not a liberal. The kind of "work" he did for a living at Bain Capital was corrupt and destructive and certainly does NOT help him relate to average people. Most of us have no idea what it's like to push millions of dollars around between a bunch of shell corporations and drive companies into bankruptcy while keeping all the profits.

Is relating to average people a requirement to be President? Have you ever been to Mount Vernon? Or Monticello? Or Montpelier? Or are you more of a Jacksonian Democrat?

I actually kind of admire ruthless capitalists. But maybe it’s not a popular thing now, except among fans of Ayn Rand or something. And of course she’s not my ultimate heroine, as I’m a Christian and I can’t agree with her entirely.

And no, I didn’t vote for Romney here in Virginia. But somehow, the other candidates epically failed to make it onto the ballot.

So I’m going to suck it up and work very hard on our Senate race. Which also stinks, because now we have two conservatives running against George Allen.

thought since we women are liberated, that means we could, among other things, choose our own life paths. I guess women are only “liberated” if they have a career and a staff to raise their children.

Only if your a liberal and vote democrat are you a liberated woman. Choice? only the "democrat" one is allowed. You must choose abortion instead of adoption, you must choose a career, not be a full time Mom. If your a stay at home Mom, "you haven't worked a day in your life".

If your daughter gets pregnant, you do not have a choice to know. The "liberated" women have decided for you that someone in your house caused it therefore your 12, 13,17 year old can be taken to a PP clinic and have major surgery, you have no choice. Heath Insurance, all policies must include women's health needs. Don't need pregnancy coverage, or contraceptive coverage, too bad others do, you have no choice.
