Barack Obama's bodyguards sent home from Colombia summit amid prostitution [drinking] allegations
Telegraph - UK ^ | April 14, 2012

Posted on 04/14/2012 3:27:41 AM PDT by Cincinatus' Wife

Reports suggested that the misconduct involved prostitutes in Cartagena, site of the Summit of the Americas. A Secret Service spokesman did not dispute that.

A US official said 12 officials were sent home. The agents were staying at Cartagena's Hotel Caribe, which is also hosting members of the White House staff and press corps during the summit

A hotel employee said the agents arrived at the beachfront hotel about a week ago, and claimed they were drinking heavily during their stay.

The employee said the agents left the hotel Thursday, a day before Obama and other regional leaders arrived for the weekend summit.

The Washington Post reported that Jon Adler, president of the Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association, said the accusations related to at least one agent having involvement with prostitutes in Cartagena. The association represents federal law enforcement officers, including the Secret Service.

” First I’ve ever heard of anything like this “

Lots of ‘firsts’ in the history of the Obama Administration — tossing the Secret Service onto the sacrificial altar for yet another ‘smokescreen’ story would certainly be in character....

Any bets on how this besmirching of a heretofore (mostly) pristine organization gets more MSM coverage in a weekend than “Fast & Furious/Gunwalker” got in two years??

It’s never “Miller Time” while in country. Sounds more like a bunch of kids on their first overseas field trip. Somebody ignored the Embassy’s warnings during the inbriefing, and got compromised. Big time.

Oh, oh - young alpha males drinking and running around with loose women - what’s next, baseball players chewing tobacco?

Oh, wait, no - that vice is now off limits, too.

Looks like America will have to fall back on the old standbys - watching politicians lie, cheat, and steal, and reading phony puff pieces written by journalist con artists about Marxist thugs in congress and the White House.

But, hey, at least those nasty men aren’t drinking and running with fast women.

It may be the beginning of Obamma surrounding himself with folks ready to force Obamma on the American people. Perhaps he worries about the secret service not backing him in a coup.

Hmmmmmmmm…………..

Former Agent: New Bill Effectively Outlaws Protests Anywhere Secret Service Deems Off Limits

Could protestors unknowingly run afoul of the Feds and face prison for exercising their First Amendment rights?

Yes, according to some analysts, and all that‘s needed is President Obama’s signature for a new law to give the Secret Service powers more befitting the Praetorian Guard

Even former 15-year Secret Service veteran Dan Bongino has raised alarms, as he told the Blaze that House Resolution 347 creates an America in which ”you could accidentally be in a cordoned off secret service controlled area and find yourself in jail.”

-SNIP-

Here are the facts: the House of Representatives passed a bill called the Federal Restricted Buildings and Grounds Improvement Act this past week. Ostensibly, the bill expands federal law protections for the areas near the president, vice president, and those under the protection of the Secret Service. For example, jumping over the fence at the White House and running across the lawn would be elevated to a federal crime once the bill is signed into law.

But there’s more. Here is a section from the H.R 347:

“Whoever knowingly, and with intent to impede or disrupt the orderly conduct of Government business or official functions, engages in disorderly or disruptive conduct in, or within such proximity to, any restricted building or grounds when, or so that, such conduct, in fact, impedes or disrupts the orderly conduct of Government business or official functions…”

By failing to include the term “willfully,” the statute apparently changes the definition of Section 1752 of title 18, United States Code in such a way that one only has to be in a restricted area — with or without prior knowledge of that fact — to violate the law. This is arguably a change required in the mens rea (state of mind) necessary to commit the crime covered in the new statute.

So if you plan to protest at the next Obama, Romney or Santorum speech, you could unwittingly violate the statute and be thrown in jail for standing in a place the Secret Service deems specially protected.

Thus Reason.com has written that “a more truthful moniker for HR 347 would be the ”First Amendment Rights Eradication Act.” While that description goes a bit far, Congressman Amash, one of the three lone votes against the bill, also wrote the following on his Facebook page:

“Current law makes it illegal to enter or remain in an area where certain government officials (more particularly, those with Secret Service protection) will be visiting temporarily if and only if the person knows it’s illegal to enter the restricted area but does so anyway. The bill expands current law to make it a crime to enter or remain in an area where an official is visiting even if the person does not know it‘s illegal to be in that area and has no reason to suspect it’s illegal. (It expands the law by changing “willfully and knowingly” to just “knowingly” with respect to the mental state required to be charged with a crime.)”

…………………….

After getting strung-out on great Colombian cocaine, Dear Leader wanted some boys, sheep, goats, and a small camel to slake his ardor. The Secret Service was not able to find them at 2:30 AM — let alone find ones that could pass background security investigations on such short notice. [I guess Dear Leader never thought of letting the TSA do the screening?] Therefore, Dear Leader's SS detail was sent packing for “incompetence”. Right!

Has government become such a joke that now even some members of the Secret Service apparently have reduced the Presidential travel to to little more than a sophomoric spring break? I’d expect this sort of thing from most federal agencies — GSA currently comes to mind — but the Secret Service?

There's something else going on here. Something not being told and that 12 SS agents must know. These men have always been considered to be the most upstanding, loyal, dedicated group of men who don't shirk their duty, don't take chances or risks about anything, and who remain out of the spotlight of anything that might bring attention to them.

For some reason these 12 agents agreed to act in a very unprofessional manner, and all at the same time. This just does not sound as though it was by accident.

Maybe they were just sick and tired of protecting a man who showed such disdain for them, and for whom they could no longer hold respect. So, in unison, they took a fall...and got out. I can't help being suspicious as to why this took place and so many were part of this.
