Three people died and seven others were wounded in shootings Friday night and Saturday morning on the South and West sides, police said.
Half of the people wounded were shot within blocks of 71st Street and Racine Avenue, on the south end of the Englewood neighborhood and north end of the Gresham neighborhood.
A 21-year-old woman was shot and killed on the 3900 block of West 19th Street in the Lawndale neighborhood about 4:33 a.m., police said.
A 31-year-old man was found inside his cab near the intsersection of Racine Avenue and 69th Street with a through-and-through gunshot wound to the torso, police said.
About 1:30 a.m., a 52-year-old man was found with a gunshot wound to the neck on the 6400 block of South Langley Avenue in the West Woodlawn neighborhood, police said.
About 3:45 a.m. a 24-year-old man was shot on the 2700 block of West Augusta Boulevard in the Humboldt Park neighborhood, police said.
A 20-year-old man was shot on the 2300 block of West Grand Avenue in the West Town neighborhood about 3:30 a.m., police said.

Chacago has become more dangerous than any war zone. People ought to get hazardous duty pay just for living there.
Notice that “shot” comes first. I watched a movie called HOTEL RWANDA. A lot of people were killed with machetes in Rwanda. Less carbon footprint with a machete, I guess.
