VOTE NOT-ROMNEY & TAKE IT TO THE CONVENTION
self/vanity ^ | Today | Self

Posted on 04/14/2012 7:43:15 AM PDT by Mechanicos

We are not yet defeated. Per Alinsky play book, they want us to feel defeated. But, if you look at the facts although it looks difficult, it is not impossible to still prevent Romney from winning the Nomination.

Romney only has 535 committed delegates now. There are not many winner take all States left to win. And the pattern for Romney in proportional states is he wins urban but not rural areas. So, if conservatives come out to vote and in enough numbers while contining to vote the Not-Romney ticket he will be denied the 1444 he needs. The GOPe and Dems want us to feel defeated when we are not yet defeated.

And a push to "Vote Not-Romney & Take It To The Convention" is not subject to Rove's Negative attack machine. It is possible we can still stop him if we spread the word far enough. Continue voting not-Romney and help get not-Romney delegates for the convention.

So spread the word, make it something positive to do. Vote Not Romney in the remaining states and take it to the Convention for a do over.

You signed up on April 8 of this year to post this?

Your posts seem to indicate you understand Free Republic, which means you’ve been reading a while. Maybe you’re a longtime lurker. I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt since that could be true.

If not, then either:

1) You have another account here and want to say this stuff without having your primary account banned, or

2) You’re an already-zotted retread, or

3) You’re a Mitt Romney supporter, coming on here to discourage us either because you’ve been paid to do so or because you really want Romney to win.

Other than being a longtime lurker who finally decided to sign up to post, which would be legitimate, I can’t think of any other reasons you’d come on here now just to say this.

I’m not the smartest guy in the room, and I could be wrong. It’s happened before and it will happen again. Please show me I’m wrong about you.

You must have a very low opinion of the typical freeper mentality, if you think anyone here is unacquainted with your perspective on “reality.”
Some of us think it is worth trying, to change reality. You seem to want to accept the status quo, which is a Romney coronation.
What have you done to avert it? All you are doing now, that is apparent to us here, is trying to get us all on board the Romney train wreck.
American history is full of people who faced more hopeless odds than we do now. If people like you who say GIVE UP, had prevailed, there would be no U.S. history.
Yet you tell us not only to give up, you imply we’re stupid because we don’t face facts.
We see the facts just fine, Taiowa.
You can always go to the animal shelter if you want to talk down to blind kittens.

No, I'm trying to defeat Obama, not help him like your lot. If you want to be like a Japanese soldier wandering the jungle till 1979, be my guest. I will retain some sort of sanity and work to throw Obama out of the White House. Your way is just a road to defeat for defeats sake, a loser I might say. Right now the Democrats are tripping all over themselves and setting themselves up for defeat, but people like you would rather prop them up with your unrealistic fantasies. Your lot will not be happy until the GOP polls in numbers equal to the Libertarians. Me, I want 50%+. If Romney wins in November and we get only a pro-business federal government, then count me in. My suspicion about your lot is that down deep you like the Left’s handouts, you might be feeding at the trough right now. Honestly, I really don't care that much for the social issues, but the free market stuff I'm passionate about. So if that is all I get from Romney, great. But you I suspect are the opposite. Your all worked up about the social issues, but you do not want to lose your entitlements. I used to laugh at some Tea Party people calling for a cut government spending, but still wanted their own entitlements left alone. Are you this type also. See, I don't care what you do in your privacy, but keep your hand out of my pocket. That's the Left’s hand and the Right’s hand.

Remember the old saying, perfect can be the enemy of the good

Personally, I've never advocated the perfect. I've supported Newt Gingrich.

And still do.

By the way, cowards and quitters are some other enemies of the good.

Jim Robinson has made it clear that FR is in rebellion, we are Conservatives, and will not tolerate posts saying we should all give up and vote for the fascist Gov.Romney.

I am calling him a fascist because that is what he is; an old fashioned progressive-type fascist, a supporter of national socialism who believes government is God.

This election is all about money and power, who wields it and will control the United States for the next four years.

Do we want to cede the United States to BHO2, a Marxist-Leninist who is Christian or Muslim only when politcally expedient; or shall it be Gov.Romney, a fascist and Globalist who doesn’t give a damn about our Constitutional rights anymore than BHO2.

Our only choice to save this nation is Gingrich.

Nominating John McCain insured the first four years of Obama. Nominating Mitt Romney would insure the next four years of Obama.
But you want us to accept that and vote for him with the following results:

1 Romney loses but gets enough votes to return in 2016 as a credible candidate.
2 Romney depresses the vote down ticket and we lose the House too.
3 Obama wins and that is “probably unsurvivable.”

In the United States 60% of likely voters are conservative or somewhat conservative. There is no way Romney, a progressive and fascist, will win in November.

Romney will not win in November because HE ISN’T A CONSERVATIVE!!

Per the Washington Post:

“Mitt Romney was firm and direct with the abortion rights advocates sitting in his office nine years ago, assuring the group that if elected Massachusetts governor, he would protect the state’s abortion laws.”

“Then, as the meeting drew to a close, the businessman offered an intriguing suggestion — that he would rise to national prominence in the Republican Party as a victor in a liberal state and could use his influence to soften the GOP’s hard-line opposition to abortion.”

“He would be a “good voice in the party” for their cause, and his moderation on the issue would be “widely written about,” he said, according to detailed notes taken by an officer of the group, NARAL Pro-Choice Massachusetts.”

http://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/as-governor-romney-worked-to-reassure-liberals/2011/11/02/gIQAookxgM_story.html?sub=AR

You seem to have the mistaken belief that Romney will be good for jobs and the economy. In fact, Romney was a lousy businessman: his company was to capitalism what a junkyard is to automakers. In other words, Romney did not know how to create wealth, only chop it up and divide the spoils. He failed at financing the Olympics with private money, and had to accept government handouts.

To answer your question about entitlements: I do not now nor have I ever received entitlement money.

If you truly want to defeat BHO2 than support Gingrich. Support a conservative. Newt Gingrich is pro-life, pro-2nd Amendment and loves America and understands its citizens. As a historian, he thoroughly knows the U.S. Constitution and our nation’s history.

He allied himself with Ronald Reagan to build the Reagan Coalition, the Religious Right, and the Republican majority (together the Reagan Revolution) which directly led the downfall of the Soviet Union, the Contract with America, government reforms, less government, tax cuts, a balanced budget, and the great, long-standing Reagan economy.

Washington is broken, it doesn’t work the way it is supposed to and Newt said, if elected, he will work to change the way Washington does business. You better believe the elitists who suck money off of government contracts are terrified he will be elected.

Romney is getting support from those holders of government contracts because Romney will not change Washington. It will be a non-stop gravy train.

The Romney Republican Party is just one more vehicle for socialism.

It's time for conservatives to face that fact and to move on to a principled, practical future.

Santorum was only the current not Romney option. Even if he sells out his people and delegates are still anti-Romney.

Romney needs 60 plus % of the remaining hard delegates. He averages only 44%. This is their Achilles heal. We are not yet defeated and can still fight. Romney only wins if we act defeated and stay home.

You guys are all nuts. Even the most stanch conservatives and tea party folks are now mobilizing and coalescing to stop Obama. I suppose you have as much vitriol against Rubio or Ryan or Lee as you do folks like me? You holding out for Newt will only bring defeat. If this site, as it appears to be, is all about “anyone but Romney”, then I suspect you are right, and I don’t belong here.

A house divided against itself can not stand!

We have 10 days before the next primary. That’s a lot of time to get the word out and raise money for Newt.

20 primary states remain with over 1,000 delegates. All in all, about 45% of the TOTAL delegates have yet to be voted on.

If Romney loses roughly 55% of those upcoming delegates, he won’t reach 1,144 automatically. Keep in mind Romney has only won over 50% of the popular vote in 3 out of 30 states so far where everyone was on the ballot.

Newt can also challenge the winner-take-all allocation of FL and AZ at the convention which violated rules so Romney can lose a few more that way. And the non-Romneys could engage in behind-the-scenes lobbying with unbound delegates to switch their vote.

I am voting for Santorum in the Indiana primary.

The only way this works is if we STOP splitting the vote. Please don't waste your vote on a candidate who's dropped out.
