Gun sales increase across the state, nation

The trend is not only happening in Texas, but around the nation. The National Shooting Sports Foundation says 11 million firearms were sold in the U.S. in the last year. The FBI also conducted 16.5 million firearm background checks in 2011. That's nearly two million more than in 2010, and double the amount from 2001.

The big question is why? Store owners say gun sales typically increase during an election year, but this year there's more to it.

Hmmm, could the answer to that big question be there's a commie usurper in the WH who's selling us out to the enemy, ripping off the taxpayers and is likely to inact martial law at any moment?

I went to the gun store today, very busy. Looked at a $3,999 H&K AR-10.

Also, trying to decide if I want a full size or a pocket gun next. Also, .45 ACP or .40, decisions decisions.

Flash mob violence by a certain minority group which has exploded in size and scope all the while without exception and worryingly gone unpunished.

Nah. It can’t be the muzzie/commie/blacktivist in the WH.

But I wish that helmets, body armor, and LBE sales were going up as well. We’re going to be a well-armed mititia when the time comes with no way to move or fight except to hunker down at home and be defeated piecemeal.

I went to a gun show in Dallas today and it was packed. Got some spare mags, ammo, and a new front handgrip for my AR. Oh, also got a new Gonzales flag (Come and Take It) ball cap as well.

Obama is doing one good thing, and he hates it.

Waiting for customers to pay their bills. Plan to get some ugly ones. Will have to get them one at a time so I don’t trip any special ATF reports though.

I’ve been buying black powder weapons, just in case things gets real primitive. I have molds and I can make my ammo from scratch. After all the fancy brass is used up it comes down to the black powder weapons which have their advantage.

The first female, otherwise known as my wife, informed me that there was a local gun show over the weekend.

I declined, although I did like the invite. We’ve no holes in our protective armament, and we’re short of money.

There’s still the .50 BMG, but I’ve a hard time coming up with a reason for a thousand yard weapon when I live in the woods where sixty yards would be a long shot...

Regardless of who wins in November, Romney or Obama, we won't have a 2nd Amendment defender in the White House (of course we didn't really have one with Bush either). Though I'll give Obama credit. I was expecting the worst during the first two years when he had a Democrat congress but, much to my surprise, he's largely sat on the sidelines as President when it came to passing new gun control laws. Don't believe me? He earned an 'F' from the Brady bunch. I don't think even Bush got an 'F'.

I was in Wal-Mart a few days ago and noticed a Sig-Sauer which looked like a nice gun. I just assumed it was a .223 caliber. The price seemed good at just over $500.

I looked more closely and realized it was a .22LR. Still a nice looking gun.

I do think there are enough small arms in the hands of the citizenry. It’s time to move on to mortar tubes and anti-armor weapons.

I found a tiny little Taurus .380 for $199 at Academy today.

The right stuff, the low price!

I think he’s saving it for his second term. He has been using other methods to implement gun control, not laws through congress.

Things like banning the import of certain firearms.
