Imagine two guys in a car speeding towards a far off cliff, one guy is flooring the pedal and going 100 mph. The other guy wants to steer the car in the exact same direction except he wants to the the speed limit of 55.

If Obama is assisted in gaining a second term by Free Republic and other similarly well-intentioned but errant conservatives purists, I will no longer need to pay attention to politics or the affairs of state at the national and global level.

Even if the conservatives keep control of the House and gain a majority in the Senate, our republic will still be either functionally dismantled or crippled beyond repair by the cementing in place of Obamacare, by more draconian edicts from the EPA, TSA, HHS and Obama’s tsar agencies. All to be administered by IRS regulations and agents as we are now seeing in the health care takeover.

To quote Obama we would have “trillion dollar deficits as far as the eye can see.” Helicopter Ben will be printing more trillions and implementing yet another quantitative easing program. Millions more devastated Americans will be purged from the labor force to mask the true unemployment rate.

(I am hopeful the SCOTUS will strike down the AHCA or at least kill the mandate but unless the whole thing is tossed out, the Dims will still implement Obamacare and fund it with additional fees on existing health procedures and on medicines, etc.)

And then, yes, there is the SCOTUS itself. Obama might well get to replace either a conservative justice or the squishy Kennedy with a fifth (or sixth) rock solid progressive to vote according to his socailist world view.

So if the conservative zealots are successful in getting Obama re-elected, they might win their battle but we will all lose the war. Even the small victory the Romney haters so desperately desire will surely be a faux victory for they will have assisted Obama in maintaining his iron grip on power to finish choking away our liberties.

Another Obama term will push me toward spending my remaining years in perhaps developing a film library of America’s good years and former greatness.

[For the record, I expect all this turmoil too be forgotten on election night. I have faith in the sense and goodness of our citizens that Obama will be shown the door in an election rout leaving him and his crying supporters bleating an empty charge of racism.]

I understand both schools of thought. I'll probably hold my nose but I can't attack those that don't. Not this time.

What we need to do here is make sure the good republicans who are downticket receive our support and are not punished due to the jerk at the top of the ticket. Tim Walberg is a good man. Because Romney doesn't deserve support doesn't mean that Walberg doesn't either. He does.

Thank God FR is standing up against the establishment GOP telling us when to fall in line, when to vote the way we are told, when to sacrifice our principles to every degree.

This isn’t just a matter of being told to vote for a less-than-ideal GOP candidate. That I could live with. We are being told to vote for a LIBERAL candidate who somehow happens to have the R next to his name. It’s nuts!!

FR keep the faith, JR keep spirits up - Newt is not done, neither is the the conservative movement despite what the GOPEe and MSM keep telling us.

A vote for Romney is a vote for Obama!

Here we go again. Even Peggy Noone, in yesterday’s Journal, while sympathetic to the Bishop, as she’s always been, inadvertently admitted with her advice to him that he’s an empty suit, and not much different from Obummer. (Look up this amazing article.)

They have divided us well. They are clever.

Please wake up and realize that If we want to vote Obama out of office the only way to do it is to vote for Romney (presuming the Republican convention nominates him)
