>> ALMOST half of all Britons are “seriously considering” moving overseas <<

Interesting. I guess they didn't get the memo that their socialist NHS system is soooooo much better than we have here and they're lucky to give in a country where healthcare is free as opposed to those "barbaric" Americans. Come to think it, nobody is moving to any of those "progressive" Scandinavian countries that are liberal wet dreams, either. I don't see people clamoring to get into Iceland or Sweden where there's gay marriage, universal health care, no death penalty, legalized drugs, euthanasia, gun control, strict enviromental standards, etc. Instead, immigrants keep pouring into the U.S. Hmmm.

Don’t allow them into the US.

I’ve met and talked with enough Brits here in the US on H1B visas to know that while they hate the situation back home, they’re simply too stupid to connect the dots between their socialist ideas on healthcare, safety/health regulations and so on, and business/career non-opportunity.

They’d carp on and on and on about how the US healthcare system was “so far behind the UK’s.”

And I’d listen to this twaddle for a couple minutes, then I’d ask them “So, what are you doing here? Go back to the UK. Here (whipping out my checkbook), I’ll pay for your one-way ticket.”

They’d get real quiet then.

The UK is a warning to us of socialism gone riot. Even with Thatcher’s best efforts she could not stem the rot.

not really, the problem is the cult of socialism, Keynesian economics etc. The welfare state in the UK got so bad that a large chunk of those employed work for the government. that is the real cause...

So the natives are surrendering to the Wogs and leaving?

That means that in a couple of decades the Wogs will run a nuclear armed nation, without firing a shot.

If they stay the same, if they leave, they just take it with them.

Congratulations to the socialists, gun grabbers, and Muslim pandering politicians. But mostly, congratulations to the voters. Go to Australia, New Zealand, Canada, whatever... Just stay away from America - - we already have more than enough bums, parasites, socialists and other scumbag Democrats trying to wreck the place, thank you.

Could you elaborate? I am looking seriously at Canada in this regard, and would be interested in hearing more. I have been working at a non-profit in Ontario for over ten years as a temp worker, but will likely apply for permanent resident status soon.

Such an intention is of no wonder for those non-UK-originated in Australia, from professional backgrounds especially: find-a-job-in-own-community rules.

Surely, the very question remains of a reason for non-Brits to come Down Under.

I feel the same way about the US. There aren’t many places left to go though.

Not me, nor anyone else I know. Continue to have a great time here, as I have throughout my 68 years.

Huh ? I’ve been in Japan for 26 years and have a permanent visa to stay . I’ve been back many times over the years , as recently as 2 weeks ago , never had a problem . The IRS has never bothered me at all .

Try to relinquish your U.S. Citizenship and see what happens.

The trouble starts when you try to relinquish your U.S. Citizenship.

The IRS "estimates" your future annual income based on their records and sends you a bill for 10 years' worth of income taxes on that.
