While everyone is in the weeds counting delegates and wondering who Santorum will endorse (it will be Romney), few people are talking about the degree to which the GOP will be emboldened if Romney gets the nomination. It will be a sign to them they can get the evangelical, social and fiscal conservatives to fall in line, all they have to do is wait them out.
A few days ago, Mark Levin said he was disgusted with the Republican establishment, right after he said, 'we conservatives have to work together to pull out a victory for Mitt Romney, just one of the presumed conservatives who have fallen in line with the GOP this past week. Establishment Republicans now know without a doubt that the base, its leaders and luminaries, can get to the point of total disgust with the GOP, and they will still fall in line.
Last cycle, Huckabee helped split the conservative vote, and make a path for the squishy one. This time it's Romney in the its my turn circle Next year it will be Santorum. And Santorum will be sufficiently and properly neutered if he gets his turn next, count on it.
And where is last cycles Santorum, Mike Huckabee, who played the evangelicals big time in 2008, right now? Hosting a radio show competing with Rush.
We are at the breach, and there is still time, though barely. If people like Levin, DeMint, Sarah, etc., would jump in now and they wont grab this moment, secure it and swing it back full bore at the GOP, the King Georgers would get a message loud and clear, they can't take the base for granted. And maybe the next time they think about trying their Karl Rove Gambit, they won't.
We can't look for help or expect anyone with power to give us a hand. We can either stand up and get in the battle, or hand the GOP another reward, a compliant conservative base, whom the GOP already despises and take for granted.
"The only thing holding us back right now is intimidation over the giants we face. They are not bigger than we are if we stand together." ~ butterdezillion
So we all have a price. (Just look at 2010 Tea Party candidates in Congress.)
What is Levin’s price? Or Rush, Coulter and all the “back bencher” radio hosts as Levin calls them?
If you can put Levin’s career on the line, you can get him to support Romney. It’s that simple. Same with Rush.
The past poll I read about out of California, was Newt had 30%, that can't be accurate, can it?
I am so glad you are voting for Newt. Find 10 other people to vote for Newt, and they can find 10 other people to vote for Newt, and they can find ten other people... and so on and so on and so on :)
If Newt doesnt beat Romney, after falling in line in 2008 and in 2010, this conservative will vote for Obama.”
Why vote for Obama when you can vote for a 3rd party conservative? I would never vote for the Saboteur under any circumstance.
Unless some prominent conservative stepped in to run 3rd part or indep. I would vote for Gary Johnson. I wasn’t a fan of his at any point in time but I think he would be the most prominent candidate as far as we know now - who isn’t Romney or Obama.
What is Levins price? Or Rush, Coulter and all the back bencher radio hosts as Levin calls them?
If you can put Levins career on the line, you can get him to support Romney. Its that simple. Same with Rush.
RE: "Just look at 2010 Tea Party candidates in Congress."
You are absolutely right there. That's why the people saying let's work on congressional tickets for strong conservatives, need to think twice... Even Allen West let everybody down...
But my point about the radio hosts, they are private citizens, not politicians, so the GOP can't threaten them, and if they do, with what? I feel sure the GOPers like Bachman, Demint, etc have been talked to and I understand that totally.
50% of Santorum turns this into a blowout for Romney. Newt needs to do better than that. I have a sneaking suspicion a large number of those supporters will sit it out now rather than vote for either of the candidates who trashed the one they were supporting. Perhaps if Santorum endorses Romney, some might get angry enough. Hopefully, Santorum will either not endorse or will support Gingrich.
Anyone who does stand up to the establishment elites in Washington and their Wall Street masters is to be revered as a true patriot and exalted as an unwavering hero to the conservative cause.
So who is standing up? Newt, and after that, I don't think he has any Washington support, does he? None in the conservative or mainstream media...
That is one thing I have on my to-do list next week, just compile who is still supporting him, so we can encourage them... but so far, my list is kind empty :(
Still voting for Newt over Romney!
Mass media is very lucrative for certain personalities. Control of the flow of assets is in the hands of the very few.
I’m only speculating here.
From what I've been told Santorum will endorse Romney, and boy do I hope that is wrong... My point was if Newt is gaining NEW support and, along with that, picks up 50% of Santorum, that would great... much better than where he is now...
We only have to keep Romney from getting half of the remaining delegates. We can do this!
The media type people (especially “conservatives”) have already all been threatened into letting Obama’s eligibility problem get poo-poohed. We’ve known for some time that they were LITERALLY hostage to George Soros on the eligibility issue, and them saying we need to pull for Romney now is no more credible than them saying we were crazy to think his BC was forged (which is now the subject of a criminal investigation). They are just saying what they are told to say. We know Soros wants Romney as the GOP candidate because he’s said he sees no difference between Romney and Obama.
So as disgusted as Mark Levin is over the GOPe, that’s how disgusted we are with a “conservative” punditry that simply reads off of Soros’ teleprompter. If Levin, Hannity, etc endorse Romney it is Soros’ attempt to demoralize us, but that can only happen if we forget that these people ARE reading off of Soros’ teleprompter and have been doing so for some time on the eligibility issue. Did any of us really think Soros would find out he could dictate what the conservative puppets had to say, and would then stop at Obama’s eligibility? If he’s got puppets he’s going to use them against us.
The whole system is hostage to George Soros.
But he can’t threaten us little people. We will always be the fish bone that has the last laugh by getting stuck in his craw. He can’t threaten or bribe us all, and we are the ones who vote.
Let’s tell Soros where he can stuff it.
Sincerely, 95% of all Republicans
Exactly. However, a lot of people who said they would support Romney WHEN and IF he was the nominee, have decided that he is the nominee, and jumped on board. That's the distressing part - they're behaving like democrats and the establishment GOP.
Never mind about Gary Johnson. Just looked up his record. He’d probably be better than the pathological liar Romney but he’s not the alternative. I guess it would probably be the Constitution Party candidate unless someone better came along.
But this primary isn’t over. Pray for Newt and work our butts off!
I don’t think he’s had any defections from his major endorsements, has he? Perry, for one, said he’d still loyal to Newt. And Palin said he should still stay in the race. I have seen in some of his recent appearances or news articles on the primary where local official sand delegates are supporting him. Of course the big names aren’t out there pushing for him very hard or seemingly on the campaign trail for him.
Sincerely, 95% of all Republicans
Dear 95% of all Republicans,
Like trappedincanuckistan once said, (to paraphrase), everyday when you jump out of bed in the labor camp, just remind yourself how happy you are you voted for the candidate who wasn't divorced twice.
And, get a clue.
100% of the citizens without their head in their ass.
Levin has always stated that he will support whomever the GOP nominee is with vigor.
And that’s what I’m going to do to, but maybe not with vigor, because I hate the phony son of a b*tch, and I hate the useless GOP even more.
However, it is almost game over, there are only two teams playing, and neither one of them represents us or anyone like us, so what are we going to do?
There isn’t going to be any overtime. If this game ends in a tie, the bad guys win. If the bad guys win, the bad guys win, and if the good guys win, the bad guys still win because the good guys ain’t really all that good.
Before The Fall starts, our Fall, I want to be able to say I took the last possible legal step I could before I then had to contemplate any additional step.
I think things are about to get really, really bad.
So it’s kind of like Glenn Beck says-
“Mitt Romney, at least he’s not a commie.”
I think, er I guess we’ll find out, maybe, but either way, the USA is going to learn about communism firsthand and hardcore.
Ever think were in this situation because there isnt a single conservative in this race? Newt is unpopular and his losing in the primaries shows it. Romney is boring. Santorum is a nobody. Palin runs her mouth from the sidelines. Theres not a party unifier.
But this primary isnt over. Pray for Newt and work our butts off!
eloquence after midnight, love it!
[ If Newt doesnt beat Romney, after falling in line in 2008 and in 2010, this conservative will vote for Obama.]
Not a bad idea.. America seems to need to have its face rubbed “in it”...
Especially republicans.. Democrats are lost causes..
I would too if my state had not already voted.
