I'm not actually in Phila. but the station that may soon carry Beck, Rush, and Hannity (106.9 WKDN soon to be IQ 106.9 is saying "tune in at noon" and FOR NOW the gimmick is All Hannity all the time. The website tweaks "radio professionals" and followers...but no doubt something is up. Those in the area heard static/dead air as a plug was pulled but now a loop saying tune in at noon today.

"The end of the world? No, it’s just the beginning of All Sean Hannity, all the time. Thanks to all the Philly-area radio professionals tuning in!Sean Hannity hosts the #1 rated 9 p.m. primetime cable show on the Fox News Channel, Hannity. He also launched a solo program, Hannity’s America in 2007 and immediately captured the #1 prime-time cable slot in total viewers for 9 p.m. on Sundays."

Maybe they're stunting with REM's It's the End of the World. Former owner: Harold Camping.

http://radioinsight.com/blog/headlines/56952/wkdn-gives-way-to-hannity-106-9/

>>Merlin Media has begun the process of converting its recently acquired 106.9 WKDN Camden/Philadelphia to News/Talk.

The station’s carrier dropped its Family Radio programming at exactly 12am as the station began the process of moving its programming to Merlin’s studios.

After about a half hour of dead air the station returned with a loop of REM’s “End Of The World As We Know It”, playing off Family Radio owner Harold Camping’s failed prediction of the end of the world which led to the station being sold off in the first place. That programming will soon give way to a non-stop loop of Premiere Radio Network’s Sean Hannity. The Hannity1069.com that we told you about last week has gone live promoting All-Hannity around the clock. Listen to the end of WKDN and beginning of stunting at FormatChange.com.

It is expected that Hannity will soon be joined by Rush Limbaugh as the station takes on CBS’ 1210 WPHT for the Talk audience in Philadelphia

note this line and remember Camping’s Rapture prediction:

“that’s great, it starts with an earthquake...”

Why would anybody listen to Hannity? He is the intellectual light weight of talk radio, the Mark Davis of national shows, the say-the-same-thing-every-day windbag, the promote-my-book-again dude, the talk-about-myself-as-poor waste of radio time. Why listen to him? Just askin’...

I would rather listen to the commercials.

At least Rush etc will have a new, FM home in Philly. This is just for now—Rush, etc to be added later.

Not the only host to flog his books: Michael Savage, “borders, language, culture, buy my books, I’ll be right back.”

Supp. Sean has 535 stations or something. Haven’t heard him lately but he did Lobster Gram frequently Ruth’s Chris work in hey I flew JetBlue and it’s great ads in his patter...

Anyway he does have some fans, I guess, and looks like he and Beck are back on in Philly.

Well, like, you know, Hannity just likes to, you know, make every story, you know, about himself, you know! It's like, he, you know, has an ego problem, you know, and needs, like you know, constant attention.

He's probably the worst speaker I ever hear on radio. Always tries to make the story about him and is, at times, unintelligible.

The most sickening thing about Hannity is his recent discovery of Twitter.

All true of course. I cannot claim to approach Sean’s accomplishments, however I often find myself cringing when I infrequently listen. In the DFW area he comes on after Rush and before Levin, so those three hours are when I turn the radio off and actually get real, focused work done. :-)

For many people Levin is an acquired taste, but I turn to him for his intellectual weight and his Constitutional knowledge. His commentary on the SC oral arguments two weeks ago was verbal beauty. His comments this past week taking apart the Zimmerman indictment were very enlightening for me. He read from the Florida law on 2nd degree murder, then showed that the indictment did not meet the standard to charge. Pretty good stuff, if you like that kind of mental exercise.

According to radio-info they are indeed running a Hannity re-run, supposedly into a live show at 3 pm. Wait a few
days or weeks and Rush & the others will follow. I think
the call letters are now officially WWIQ
