I love an opus. It’s been so long.

Well I can understand that comletely... I was just four years old when my father died from shrapnel wounds. My Uncle died in the war serving on the front lines.
I have two sons who have served and one continues to do so. So our family knows what "freedom" is...as well as what it is not.... what our country is becoming is NOT what they gave their life and service for!!!!...
The only real security of liberty, in any country, is the jealousy and circumspection 'Of The People' themselves.... Let them be watchful over their rulers...... Should they find a combination against their liberties, and all other methods appear insufficient to preserve them, they have, thank God, an ultimate remedy.... That power which created the government can destroy it....
('James Irdell'....was one of the first Justices of the Supreme Court of the United States..... He was appointed by President George Washington and served from 1790 until his death in 1799......he was a leader of 'the Federalists' in North Carolina, and a strong supporter of the proposed 'Constitution'....SS James Iredell, a ship in World War II, was named after Iredell.
)
Yes, I do think so as well. It will come to that I’m afrad, if the people are pushed too far. What that limit is remains to be seen. I have no doubt our politicians have considered this as well, though perhaps not openly.
The quote you posted rings loudly of the choice we Americans must make, if we're to honor those who sacrificed everything to defend our God-given freedoms.
"The only real security of liberty, in any country, is the jealousy and circumspection 'Of The People' themselves.... Let them be watchful over their rulers...... Should they find a combination against their liberties, and all other methods appear insufficient to preserve them, they have, thank God, an ultimate remedy.... That power which created the government can destroy it...."
~ James Irdell, Justice of the Supreme Court 1790 - 1799
Good example. There is a man who wholly abandoned his conservative beliefs to support Romney.
Unless one thinks a lifetime 2Ammend. advocate is acting ‘conservative’ and upholding ‘conservative’ principles by voting/backing a politician who passed laws that are the polar opposite (gun control) of what that means.
To be clear. This also applies to any ‘pro-life’ person who backs/votes for a candidate that put McBabyparts on the Mass. $50 abortion menu.
This also applies to Gay marriage opponents who back/vote for a candidate who passed laws making gay marriage legal
This also applies to people who believe that Global Warming is a liberal fantasy and then for for a man CURRENTLY CAMPAIGNING on the invented ‘fact’ that it’s real.
In over 4000 posts and counting over these threads, not a single Romney ABO type has even attempted to seriously refute that. They have dodged, deflected, ducked, called names like a spurned teen girl, stomped feet, hurled false accusations and generally acted every bit like the DU types they claim to oppose.
But the questions/issues remain and their best effort it “Well I’m gonna do it’.
And we wonder why the world is the way it is when principles, truth and logic matter to so few.... If you vote or support Romney, the fact is, you leave conservatism at the door to do it. And anyone so easily abandoning their beliefs will do it every time it’s continent to do so. That is NOT conservative by anyone’s honest definition.
told ya...
NEW YORK Presidential candidate Newt Gingrich told Republicans at a New York state party dinner that he would work for Mitt Romneys victory in the general election if Romney wins the nomination.
We are dedicated to a unified Republican Party, he said.
Speaking Thursday in New York City, Gingrich said hes stayed in the race to articulate big themes and big ideas but that we have a moral obligation to defeat Barack Obama.
To that end, he said, he would work to support Romney, and he said Romney would do the same for him. Romney and I have discussed this, he said.
>>”My duty as I see it is to ensure that the least harm comes from this election and taking my ball and going home just because I don’t get my way is not the answer. Fight for a conservative in the primary and in all local elections. But, in the general election, staying home and not voting is the mathematical equivalent to voting for Zero and I won’t do that.”<<

BUMP TO THAT!!
“Good example. There is a man who wholly abandoned his conservative beliefs to support Romney.”
Says you. I wasn’t aware you were in charge of deciding these kind of things.
Hey, thanks! This is great!
Just ignore that liberals hijacked the Republican party as well.
Voting for Virgil Goode over Romney. But to each their own. Some have a hard time realizing Romney is the brain child of years of hard work by the left to infiltrate the GOP.
You sure have been waxing eloquently lately I for one am impressed.
