Gingrich on Plan B: 'I'm Quite Happy With Plan A, Frankly' By NBC's Alex Moe
LANCASTER, Penn. Campaigning in Pennsylvania with one-week left before the states primary, Newt Gingrich acknowledged he has no Plan B and downplayed one of his top surrogates call for him to exit the presidential race.
Asked if he is thinking about what he will do if he does not get the nomination what his Plan B would be Gingrich brushed it off. "I don't worry about that right now. I'm focused on the nomination, Gingrich said following remarks at the Lancaster County GOP Dinner here. I'm quite happy with Plan A, frankly." (snip)
Gingrich plans to move ahead with his campaign despite increasing calls for him to drop out of the race including from onetime supporter, Herman Cain.
Cain, the onetime presidential candidate who endorsed Gingrich in late January, took to the airwaves Monday morning on a radio show and referenced Romney as the presumptive GOP nominee.
"To Newt Gingrich I would say, 'Speaker Gingrich, with all due respect, let's get on with this, OK?'" Cain said in an interview on WMAL's Mornings On The Mall. "I even endorsed Newt Gingrich at one point because I thought he had a shot. Well, not now. He doesn't have a shot."

O man...that is very funny! sort of sad too.
Nifster... why are you trying to deny voters the right to choose their candidate by sidelining Newt? What’s in it for you?
Methinks you are a troll.
Yes! He'll be nominated for President of Bizarro World.
Right those stickers that went on when Newt actually was campaigning.
I don’t care what Newt does. I do care that we defeat O and make sure that conservatives are elected to the HOuse and Senate. Our nation depends upon those two things
And this is more like 1976 than 1980. Newt has run a miserable campaign from the get go
Nothing. I am not trying to sideline Newt at all. I have done nothing to sideline him. I have merely asked questions of those here who want me to go work for Newt. Fine how does one do that when there are no offices and no field support. There are no boots on the ground. So where do you want me to sign up?
Think all you want. You are incorrect. Interesting how so many are quick to yell troll just because when the politics is all said and done we still have a republic that we must defend.
You can shout and scream and stomp your feet all the way to the convention.
Once the convention is done there are two things that MUST happen:
1) Elect as many conservatives to the House and Senate as possible
2) Make sure Obama does NOT have a second term
I can’t read the minds nor know the motives of others, but Herman Cain is no longer a big player regardless.
God bless and Keep you.
Just enough to keep Albinobamaromney from getting there either!
LOL! Troll alert.
Name one office in northern California where I can go and work for Newt.
I know where I can go for Tea Party rallies and for various congress critters who want my vote. Tell me where I can go work for Newt?
You are a troll... admit it... it will set you free.
I’m voting for Newt on Tuesday. I don’t care what the media says.
This ain’t 1976.
It doesn’t matter if Gingrich gets to 1144 or not.
The important thing is to stop Romney getting to 1144.
Remember: the convention becomes open after the first vote.
“...I do care that we defeat O and make sure that conservatives are elected to the HOuse and Senate. Our nation depends upon those two things.”
Those are fine sentiments. I agree with them.
But they won’t matter for squat if a fascist like Romney is our nominee. He will not be elected because conservative voters aren’t stupid.
