You were lucky. We lived in a hole in the ground covered by a piece of tarpolin, and we were happy to have it!

Don’t burn the local stores down and they will be there for you. Just take a look at Mayor Marion Barry’s recent statements on Asian store owners and you will understand why “food deserts” will continue to exist well after Barry and Michelle leave office.

You’ll live in a highrise tenement,
and you’ll take public transportation to your assigned work farm.

Because of the “food deserts” that the evil white man created by closing down businesses in Eric Holder’s peoples’ neighborhoods that got robbed and shoplifted and mugged into bankruptcy.

And now, to get even for his ‘deprived youth’ he sends an Air Force Cargo plane a thousand miles to bring him a pizza from his old neighborhood.

He is such a punk.

It it hadn’t been for some rich person wanting to keep all of his money, they could have used his money to put a fruit stand closer to your home. So it is the fault of the rich man.

There's little fruit or other perishable foods because most people in those neighborhoods don't eat it. Why would a shop keeper buy anything to let it rot on the shelf?

But if you need rolling papers, 40oz beers and packaged/prepared food, most of these neighborhoods have 24/7 stores every other block that sell it. There are also far more liquor stores there and they would also be 24/7 if the government allowed it.

“That’s nothing. I used to have to walk two miles through driving snow, uphill both ways, to get to school. When I was a kid, we couldn’t afford real cereal...we ate wood and rocks.”

Dad? Is that you?
Lol...I heard almost the exact same phrase growing up!

I was also going to say that those ghetto bodegas have selections of booze that you won't ever find outside the hood.

My friends and I used to travel there just to get certain 40 ouncers. I guess our neighborhoods had “beer deserts”.

Maybe if these lefties would let Walmart in their ‘hoods, their people wouldnt have to jump on a bus or subway to get themselves some fruit.

Moosechele, there's a reason that food deserts exist. Look into the root cause of that, correct it and food deserts will go away.

Merchants will move into heavily populated ares if it is profitable to do so. When said merchants are subject to shop lifting, burglary, robbery, violence and mayhem, on a regular basis, they cannot afford to operate there.

He's talkin' 'bout Chicago. There really are vast stretches of that city that have NO STORES except beer joints and barbershops.

There's a reason for that ~ the beer joints have armed guards and there's nothing worth stealing at the barbershops.

You'd need to travel quite a ways to get something worth something ~ and it's not our problem. Mayor Daley and his cronies created these conditions as a way to control African Americans.

When did Obama ever live in a city, in the United States, that didn't have fresh fruit close enough to walk to get it, or was without a car so he couldn't drive to get fresh fruit? I know he spent some of his growing up years in Indonesia, then spent more time with his grandparents.

As far as college is concerned, he's never released any of his information, so there's no way to verify how he paid for college.

Where do these people come from?>>>>>>>>>>>>>

The culture of food stamps and supah mahkits.

A ‘rake’ and a ‘hoe’ are both names for a man and a woman doing their thing.

Obama should have tried a little share croppin’.

Yup, so long as UPS or FedEx or USPS make deliveries, amazon.com makes for an amazing on demand grocery store. $80/yr gives unlimited 2nd day shipping (along with free streaming videos, free ebooks, etc for cheap one-time hardware costs). OK so fresh food is sparse, but between dried and frozen you’ll do fine.

The more I examine it the more this “food desert” stuff is BS. Just a setup for self-styled elitists to impose their self-righteous, and otherwise unwanted, wills. How far do these people want us to bend over backwards?
