Romney reminds me a little of George H. Bush but not as personable
A little bit Dole only not as charismatic a Dole.
A little McCain but not as savy as McCain.
He also remind me of John Kerry but not as conservatie as Kerry.

This first one is somewhat questionable but I don’t know enough to say whether it was a good shoot or not.

Perry does not need to work on his public speaking.

He is a great public speaker. He gets a crowd going, is fun, likeable and a good speaker.

The debates ... nuther story but I place the blame a lot on is condition.

Agreed - his speeches were/are great, and watching him work a crowd, doing retail politics, is inspiring. Sadly, it was the debates he was judged on. In my judgement, you lost a great candidate simply by not letting him sit down. I know back troubles well!

I was lucky enough to meet him in early 2011 and have a short chat with him (was in Austin for something else and the park around the Capitol is well worth the time to walk through and photograph). He is a real man - honest, hard working and down to earth. Friendly, as all Texans are, and slightly - well, not exactly shy, but more interested in you than himself.

The debates ... nuther story but I place the blame a lot on is condition. As far as suffering during debates from having to stand too long, in reality the best thing that could have happened would’ve been if Governor Palin had gone ahead and gotten on the ballot nationwide, then stayed out of the “debates.” There was no profit to being in a “debate” moderated by a leftist - err, “objective” journalist. If it was a physical problem for Perry, he should have kept his powder dry and laid low until South Carolina. Then really hit Florida. Of course, that sounds like Rudy Guiliani’s strategy back in ‘08, but with a southern base it would have had a great chance of working.

Boo hoo Romney. He didn’t have a problem with Fox dismantling his primary opponents one by one. Was that fair Mitt?

If the GOP loses this November, the blame for that should fall completely in the lap of the GOP and the faux conservative media.

They decided their main objective was to sideline the conservative base. Talk about cutting your nose to spite your face. They did everything in their power, shamelessly using everything they can to boost Romney.

However he is pliable and can be pushed to the right.

He only moves right if it gets him votes, and what he's been saying lately leads me to think he believes he's got the nomination locked up and is going to lurch left to try and get Democrats and "moderate" (liberal) Republicans to support him.

You said it, CC - the media hasn’t even warmed up yet. If he thinks they’re mean NOW, God help us if and when he’s the nominee.

And this from the article:

““If people are bending or breaking the law then we’re going to have to focus on that and do something about that,” Romney responded.”

Riiiiiiiight.........”we’ve” been so good at that so far, haven’t “we”?

BHO likely won in ‘08 due to rampant fraud and law-breaking. Most of what he’s done ever since has been illegal and unconstitutional. And he hasn’t had to pay for any of it.

This will be an epically dirty campaign and we need a real scrapper.

How can SO many voters not see how weak this guy is before it’s too late???

“I think its on purpose.”

I sure thought so with McLame in ‘08 and it’s not looking much better so far.

Also - if I keep hearing “our” side say what a nice guy BHO is, I’ll tear my hair out. They’re so damned afraid of being called racist, they won’t be truthful. I loved it tonight on Hannity when Michelle Malkin was ripping the Wan a new one (as she always does) against ignorant Tamara Holder. She fiercely said “and Obama is NOT a nice guy!”

Refreshing for a change.

but he wasn’t yet ready for prime-time.

Perry was MORE than ready for prime-time - He was 1000 times more qualified that the big mouth 'conservative' that unleashed her venom on him. As more qualified than Cain and Mitt's cousin that were in the race and more qualified than Santorum. He's been leading TX for 12 years. He and Newt as really the only ones qualified. The Presidency isn't a training campl No need mitt to repeat mitt isn't qualified to run in the GOP with his very liberal record. NEWT, IMO, is clearly the only candidate to bring our country under the constitution again and restore the damage.

That’s exactly right - they have to get THE BEST CANDIDATE, NEWT, the ONE who can beat obama and undo the damage he’s done out of way first.

Then mitt’s meltdown will be child’s play to them.

Was for Perry - for personal reasons - long before I was for Newt.

:)

Newt said he already has him working on something for him. Forget now what it is.

10th Ammendment and returning power from Washington to the states I think it is. Perry is an amazingly good choice for that.

It shows why they ‘were assigned’ to trash Perry during the debate, as they know he is NOT one of them/GOP e. Patriots support each other and fight corruption/evil doers together.

Those with NOT a pro American spirit are fighting Newt now as they did Perry. Voters not paying attention were duped and they refused to listen.

One of the most hated things I have to occasionally face in life is religious fanaticism. Self righteous pious people who want to change my view, join the flock and be part of the herd.

Does not matter who or where the culture comes from, some are more extreme but be it Moslems or Mormons they all smell the same.
