Barack Obama's Re-election Bid is Already in Deep Trouble. "Hot Diggity Dawg" Says it All!
Daily Mail ^ | April 19, 2012 | Toby Harnden

Newt Gingrich may not have got the memo but the battle for the Republican nomination is over. Some in the Romney campaign were hoping for a Febuary end but others were fearing it would go on until June and a small number of Republicans even predicted a convention fight in August.

All in all, April is not a bad result for Mitt Romney - long enough to test him, short enough to allow him to focus solely on the general for the final six months.

Despite the very recent and ugly and negative primaries, Romney's struggle with conservatives and the relative difficulty he had in overcoming a lacklustre field, Republicans - who tend to fall in line more readily than Democrats - are already uniting behind him.

Obama_1318962c President Barack Obama: in deep trouble

The RealClearPolitics poll average puts President Barack Obama at 47 percent and Romney at 44.2 percent - statistically insignificant lead of 2.2 percent.

Drill down into the numbers of the latest CBS poll and there are ominous signs for Obama. Only 33 percent of Americans believe the economy is moving in the right direction. A mere 16 percent feel they are getting ahead financiallty. Some 38 percent think their situation will get worse of Obama is re-elected, 26 percent think it will get better.

A cursory look back at incumbent versus challenger presidential races does not give Obama much comfort.

In April 1976, President Gerald Ford was in about the same position as Obama is now. He lost the 1976 general election to Jimmy Carter by two points. In April 1980, President Jimmy Carter was leading Ronald Reagan by 38 points to 32 points with John Anderson on 22. In November 1980, Reagan won by three points.

Romney's ONLY advantage in the GOP primaries was money. He was able to pound his opponents to a pulp and they could not respond in kind.

He will not have that advantage in the general, something the geniuses in the GOP-E apparently fail to realize. Obama will take his every gaffe and pound him like a cheap cutlet with them. And Romney won't know how to react.

Without fanfare, comment or raving, POTUS Barack Hussein Obama is toast. And....so is a good portion of the Democrat Party, if they stick with Obama!!! The Democrats, just like Black Americans are adrift at sea for supporting the failed POTUS Obama. And....to boot....any woman that is single, or a single unwed mom has got to be nuts to even think about voting for Obama. Ladies, when the Obama “stash” drys up, what do you do then!!! Better get real!!! Obama is not on your side, he is not on the minority side either. American Blacks have set themselves back 100 years with their foolishness and inbred racism and raccial hatred!!!

And.....if the powers that be in the Democrat Party have any brains ar all, they will broom Obama, this would be destroyer of the USA right out of the POTUS slot. If not.....they all will go down politically in flames with the worst POTUS in American history. Remember the Mid Term elections in 2010. Well.....the 2010 results will pale in comparison to the beating the Democrats will take in November, 2012!!! Bank on it!!! ANYBODY BUT OBAMA!!! Period!!!

I'm glad someone said it...cause it's all true. The nomination IS over...all except the crying and anyone who things otherwise is a totally fooling themselves [and don't call me a quitter...I just have clarity of thought. I will vote for Newt IF I ever get the chance here in TX].

And I don't know what the point of the thread is. Hot diggidy dog? Since Romney's going to be the nominee...and all the playa's on FR won't vote for him...seems like they are OK with Obama's re-election bid. Seems like a double-edged sword to me. You can't have your cake and eat it too.

Your responses here have been weak, argumentation-wise, and don’t cut the mustard. (These things are not name calling.) Be humble and learn for a while. If your heart and brain are in the right place and you stay informed, you will be able to find traction somewhere down the road.

The battle is just in the beginning phase. LA Unified School District is proposing to cut the graduation requirements from 230 credits to 170 credits. They will, if this passes, eliminate Calculus and Journalism, as well as health classes. In addition, they are recommending dropping the grade required to pass college prep courses to a D. Yes, I wrote "D"

Obviously these cretins believe a dumbed down society is beneficial.

It’s not only the “dumbing” down that scares me. It’s that people will still tell those uneducated “dumb” they are smart and special.

Appreciate the words of wisdom, the instruction, and the condescending attitude in which they are given. All of which makes discussion here much better.
Like I said this kind of rehtoric is no different then libs who resort to elitist, entitled, name-calling, emotional outburts when they are challenged.

Actually, you are the one who is digging our grave. We cannot make this a Conservative country again unless we start and continue fighting the left's propensity to propagandize, trick, cheat, murder, threaten, scare, and election-steal us into communism.

If this election is between 0bama and Romney, it will be between two radical socialists. Which one should a Conservative choose? The answer is neither.

Each campaign season gets worse and worse because the left comes out like a freight train and steams over the true Conservatives, leaving us with NO CHOICE. The Republicans then cower in the nearest corner while our best candidates are character assassinated off the ballots using lies and exaggerations.

0bama/Romney is NO CHOICE. And that is exactly what they want us to have.

The more we choose the "lesser of two evils," the more they push the most radical two candidates for us to "vote" for.

Both parties then ignore the will of the people, after lying to get elected about how sensitive they are to it, and proceed to run roughshod over the country.

If you think that your sainted Romney will stop, or even slow, the destruction that 0bama has started, you're delusional. There are forces at work here that are obviously beyond your ken.

There are ways to stop them, and strong men and women are hard at it, but the fact that conservatives like you spout liberal talking points and have no clue about how very radically far left Romney has become just goes to show how influential the propaganda of the left really is. Or you're a troll.

Wake up.

I seem to remember Reagan beating Carter by a lot more than three points in 1980.
