Why would the lousy Democrat be increasing its lead?

Sherrod Brown is a stupid commie.

It would do the nation a favor to defeat him.

Geez, Brown has been there six years already? I say most of the undecideds break against the incumbent.

I would say “lousy Democrat” is an understatement.

I have NEVER seen Rasmussen results that don't try to show the D in the lead, no matter what the question is.

Mandel will win the Ohio Senate Seat, ONLY if he can over-come ACORN (whatever name they have now), Union fraud, and fraud in Cincinnatti, Cleveland, Toledo, Dayton, and other MAJOR CITIES. The Blue Collar dunces vote D, because of the Union backing for handouts, AND those blue collars in Ohio are mostly out of work, anyway, as the auto and steel industries have moved to Right-to-Work States, or off-shore.

An incumbent 6 points under 50% is in big trouble. Not great news. I would certainly prefer the GOP to be ahead, but at least in this case if the undecided break for the challenger it is very winnable.

This is pretty good news. For a challenger (pretty much an unknown one) to be this close to an incumbent who is in the mid-40s is excellent positioning.

If the election is close then the 'Rat will win it. The 'Rats are much more astute when it comes to election fraud. They'll be registering and voting dead people, out-of-state (non-resident) college students, whatever other illegal votes they can get, just like in 2006 and 2008.

For non-OH FReepers, Sherrod Brown has the very recognizable political name (Brown), and rode the wave of 'Rats into his Senate office in 2006. While in the House, he had the most liberal voting record of any member, even to the left of that loony Dennis Kucinich. I don't know what it is about Ohio voters and liberal 'Rats, but they seem to elect them, and keep them in office until they retire or die (e.g., Howard Metzenbaum). It makes no sense, because demographically, the state is still pretty much centrist, although the influx of Mexican immigrants is tilting that.

I agree with this. Mandel only won the Ohio Republican Primary on March 6th, so he only just became the official Republican nominee. The fact he’s polling this close to Brown without having even started his campaign against him is a very promising sign for him.

I didn’t know until a few weeks ago that Josh Mandel is a former Marine.
Brown is a despicable snake. The more Ohio voters are reminded about his positions and alliances, the more they will want to send in a Marine.

I agree! If they put out ads showing Brown’s vote for healthcare and some of the other really unfavorable things Ohioans hate Mandel will win handily.
