WASHINGTON (AP) — Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin of West Virginia says he's unsure whether he'll vote for President Barack Obama or likely Republican nominee Mitt Romney.

In a statement Friday, Manchin said he has real differences with both Obama and Romney. He also said many West Virginians believe the last 3 ½ years have not been good.

Just public window dressing to get him cozy with the voters in WV. He will vote for Obama.

Right....

He’s just making “independent” noise like he did in 2010. At the end of the day, he’s “down for the struggle.”

I drove through West Virginia last week. I particularly liked a big billboard I saw that (I think) proclaimed the area an, OBAMA NO JOBS ZONE.

If Manchin cares at all about West Virginia, he’d better not vote for Obama. Obama is doing all he can to shut down coal production. If he succeeds, he’ll kill West Virginia.

Manchin is in a bad way. The Democrat party has turned as strongly against coal as it is for abortion. And they do not tolerate dissension or disagreement. The old Klansman, Robert Byrd was powerful enough to try and protect coal, but now that he is simmering in a vat of lava somewhere, Manchin has neither the pull or the juice to protect coal.

So he can but hope that the onerous Romney wins, and legalizes coal again, though truthfully the onerous Romney is probably on the MMGW bandwagon along with Obama.

Yet it all comes down to the West Virginians. If they are dumb enough to vote themselves a Great Depression, then none should stand between them and their Democrat disaster. Kind of a shame, really, but if people are bound and determined to ruin themselves, it’s just best to stay out of the way.

Wonder what Sen. Joe Manchin’s FR handle is?

He has a lot of company here, regarding his uncertainty.....

Probably looking for another Naval Base for WV.

I hate to break it to you, but there is a Navy Base in West Virginia. It's at Sugar Grove (in Pendleton County) just to the North of our listening station for alien radio signals in Greenbank, WV (which requires a National Radio Quiet Zone). That zone helps the Navy's mission which the local newspaper said was monitoring satellite transmissions from the various embassies in DC for intelligence. I can neither confirm nor deny that news story.

I did serve almost four years there when it was a Naval Radio Station. It is now a Naval Security Group Activity. By the way, it is the only active (as opposed to reserve) duty base in the state.

He is in trouble. He has lost the West Virginian's for Life endorsement because of his support for Obamacare.

Yup, you hit it on the head. Manchin’s two-year fill-in is up and now he’s facing re-election for a full Senate term. WV is mostly conservative, and he wants six more years in office.

I know, that's why I said another naval base. Bobby Byrd could deliver the pork to WV like nobody else.

We had some of the locals believing that there were underground tunnels and we were refitting submarines back in the mountains --- kinda like the Germans did in WWII.

No Really?!

If only the REPUB had been elected to the Senate from WV. It is too late for this RAT to have regrets.
