Poll: Christie as VP helps Romney the most, Rubio would hurt candidacy
Daily Caller ^ | 4-19-2012 | Alexis Levinson

Marco Rubio may not be the dream running mate for Mitt Romney that he has been made out to be. The results of a Public Policy Polling poll released Thursday indicate that with Rubio as a running mate, Romney would actually lose traction against President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden.

If he picks Chris Christie, Rick Santorum, Mike Huckabee or Jeb Bush, however, he becomes a stronger candidate.

In a head-to-head match up against Obama, Romney currently trails the president by a 49-46 margin. But the poll found that the right running mate could boost his chances.

Romney is chosen to LOSE. He is ineligible,
and fortunately, not the candidate as yet.

Romney’s behavior is hated by women, by small businesses,
and those that know him.

Romney has not been nominated although he acts like he is. Arrogant.

I dislike him intensely.

From a polling company that wants the GOP to lose.

Wouldn’t trust it at all. Makes no sense.

Jeb Bush being mentioned on local radio today too. (FL)

I don’t know how I can be happy with anyone mentioned...maybe nothing will help.

The numbers mentioned seem to be at odds with recent ones quoted. Maybe just discount this story completely?

Romney and Christie deserve each other.

The rest of us don’t. But... Anybody is better than the current White House interloper.

If all that mattered was the evisceration of Romney's public career, the ideal running mate for him would be Ron Paul. That would also eviscerate what's left of the latter's public career.

Rubio has not given his convention speech yet that will introduce him to the American public.

Chris is for amnesty for illegal immigrants, while Mitt is, also, moving in this direction. Amnesty for illegal immigration, just by itself, will be enough to ruin the U.S. as a country, possibly forever, and all other pro-leftist junk added will make the entire U.S. even worse, for the long-term!

You are absolutely correct.

From a PPP survey of 900 “American voters”—in other words, adults.

The poll is crap.

First, Romney is not the nominee.

If Romney gets the nomination it still won’t matter, because he is never going to see the inside of the White House.

Now if he really wants to impress his base, he should pick a running mate consistent with his beliefs.

His VP needs to be a half white, half black, homosexual transvestite whom he personally married to an hispanic that had undergone a sex change operation right after her last abortion. It would also help if this choice had actually been a T. Kennedy democrat all of his life, except for the last few years.

All of the mention VP possibilities are for amnesty for illegal immigrants! The U.S. is finished, so what do conservatives do next?

“After Christie lowered the flag for the snortin’ singer??? No thanks !”

I’m with you there; that alone says volumes about him. By contrast, not a peep out of Trenton about the untimely death of Davy Jones. Nope, no racism there...
