Romney: Obama Is A Nice Guy, But We Can't Afford Four More Years
Real Clear Politics ^ | Friday April 20, 2012

"We have come together at critical times times and made the sacrifices necessary to preserve our liberty. So a campaign based on attacks, a campaign based on demonizing one another, that's not going to be successful. This country is going to be successful by pulling together, by recognizing that we have some common challenges and working together to overcome those things," Mitt Romney said on "Hannity" tonight.

"The President's a nice guy, but we just can't afford him for four more years. Our kids can't afford him. We have to get back to machine who know what is it takes to get America strong again. I spent my life in the private sector and i want to use my experience to get America working again for the American people," Romney told FOX News.

The GOP is most definitely dead. Their enemies are Conservatives, not liberals. This idiot did not go this easy on his fellow Republicans. What a puke.

but Romney wouldn’t take the bait, reminding him this election is about jobs, not dogs.

Yeah, I wonder why Romney doesn't want this election--or any topic--to be about dogs.

It’s almost as if some people here don’t realize four more years of Obama means the end of America.

LOL

You are seriously clueless.

This Republic died when Universal Suffrage was imposed via Constitutional Amendment.

Whats going on now is death rattle.

No Republic can survive when everyone has the vote, and that problem won't be solved at the ballot box.

Obama is just a symptom of a fatal disease.

There is no electoral cure.

It has to collapse, and then we start from scratch.

Thanks for the link to Michelle’s column...it is very powerfully written and dead-on, isn’t it? I’m dying to see somebody, anybody on our side state this as clearly as she did here. As she says, the “he’s a nice guy” meme is a total loser for us.

Nonsense, the Dems win with name=calling all the time, they accuse Republicans of starving children and old people, hating women and blacks, poisoning the water and air, killing U.S. Soldiers for oil, killing Iraqi children for oil, warmongering, being uneducated and stupid, bible thumpers, anti-science, bigots, homophobes......

I could go on.

For a start, nice guys do not lie through their teeth to the US Catholic bishops to further their own political agendas or promote abortion, including partial birth abortion.

It is a tactical error to lie and say he is a “nice guy.” He is in fact a mean-spirited classless hack. He is very quick to ascribe base motives to his political opponents. He is a shameless demagogue whose first instinct is to divide America and condescend to ordinary Americans; those bitter clingers. He is so without character that he besmirched the memory of his own grandmother, a woman who raised him at great sacrifice. Nothing nice about him.

This is where Romney goes to the center thinking he can win independents.

If being civil and nice were all they wanted (I), all they need to do
is look at how harsh the dems are and they would choose Repubs every turn.
History shows otherwise.

IMO the MSM deals DEM voter cards as independent to mold the (R) candidate
into loosing against their champion.

Myth reminds me of McCain in so many ways — the GOP hasn’t learned a thing from the 2008 debacle.

NOT A THING!

Prime example of a man lacking the moral clarity and the courage to call a spade a spade.

As long as the political right lends these types the credence of our votes, this is all we will ever get. People can create scary scenarios and proclaim the end of America, but this “nice guy’ mentality proves that America is already over. This is election #2 of the ‘nice guy’ crap and where are we fiscally, morally et all?

In the Great Porcelain Receptacle, that’s where.

So let’s keep voting for “A” and being shocked when we get “B”. God Onyx what is wrong with this picture that so many fail to get?

Getting sidetracked with petty name-calling won’t do him any good.
= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =
I wholeheartedly agree
BUT
That doesn’t mean we have to kiss his ring.
Some of these voters are so dumb that the combination of BO offering a free pie and Romney calling BO a ‘nice guy’ is enought to push them further over the edge.
AND remember their 2 votes makes us just have to work harder to defeat BO.

Mitt forgets that “When you are up to your hip boots in alligators, it is hard to remember the job was to drain the swamp.”

If we can somehow label BO a Republican, maybe Mitt (well, his handlers) will lash out at him.

Kind of reminds me of the old saw:

“I (WE) come to bury Ceasar, not praise him”.

ATTN SIT ROOM - That is a (fractured) figure of speech, not a threat.

Yes, we know how the story ends.

I prefer to die trying, for whatever it may be worth.

This world will end, but I will not be caught whittling on the porch, my FRiend.

He is going to end up pulling a McCain... isn’t he?

“He is a good man, he will make a good President. We have nothing to fear from Barack Obama”

That was some campaign speech Juan... conceding more than a week before the election.

“I sure wish Romney would stop calling Obama a nice guy because he’s not.”

Bishop Willard lies. That is what he does. You will know he is dead when he stops lying.

I keep saying it. If this is so damn important not to pick Romney, and he keeps saying this stuff, Newt can’t support him. With all the hysterics here about how awful it will be under ROmney and we’re going 100 mph over the cliff with Obama but 85 mph over the cliff with Romney, this has to be an election where Newt doesn’t do the same old political bullsh1t and rally behind the guy taking us over 85 mph.

If he does and you’re okay with it, then what you are saying is this election really isn’t any different than any other, and you’ve been massively overblowing how bad it will be under Romney. Otherwise you would not stand for Newt endorsing Romney, damn the normal polite touchy-feely politics - the future of the country is at stake. We’ve been told we cannot survive another 4 years of Obama. How can Newt endorse the guy taking us over the same cliff Obama is, just 15 mph slower, and you be totally okay with it? If it’s that important of an election, screw endorsing Romney. We’ve been told here there’s basically no difference. By the logic preached to us here that means Newt endorses us going over the cliff at 85 mph. How can this be good for the country if we do the same old political crap of “get behind the candidate no matter what, for unity” if you truly believe Romney is as bad as he’s been presented? We will come to another McCain event and lose.

Recall when this wussy weasel declined to even call the Marxist “a socialist”?

Sheeesh. He has no problem at all smearing his conservative rivals, but plays nice-nice with obama.

We’re so screwed, if he’s successful buying the nomination.

I’m praying for Newt, for Divine Intervention and for TEA Party Patriots and conservatives smarter than me to somehow, someway stage an all out, bloody floor fight at the convention, to rock the GOP-E and put an end to this stacked nomination process.

Time to rebel.

I knew from Day One that Romney was the return of McCain. He would be tough on his fellow republicans but soft on Obama. Just as four years ago, the true conservatives were ignored and pushed out of the race and the GOP crowned Romney. The last conservative standing is Newt Gingrich. He stayed true to his principles. He is not an etch-e-sketch and he stayed to make sure that conservatism remains. Let’s coalesce around Newt for the sake of America’s future. Newt is a proven conservative and has a better than a good record. He should not be ignored. After Romney’s pronouncement to Hannity tonight, let us support Newt. He stayed just in case. This is the case!!!
