Newt Trails Obama by Only 7 Points in Latest Rasmussen Tracking Poll (or It's Not Over Yet).
Vanity | April 21, 2012 | True Believer

Posted on 04/21/2012 8:08:35 PM PDT by true believer forever

In the lastest Rasmussen tracking poll, which has had no media coverage, Newt Gingrich is trailing Barack Obama by only 7 points nationally. Barack Obama is leading Mitt Romney by only 5 points in Florida. These poll results are being withheld by the RNC and the MSM, who want no positive news about Newt in circulation, especially the fact he is only behind Obama by 7 points nationally.

The RNC establishment’s current strategy remains: Publish no poll numbers; spread the word that Romney is the nominee; have people vote based on blackout and misinformation expecting Romney to win big; then hit hard with Romney’s wins and Newt’s losses to bully Newt into dropping.

Please do yourself the honor of reviewing actual polls by doing a Google search for “2012 Republican presidential polls (name state)” and you will see why the RNC is using this tactic. Then spread the word!

Obama with the dem-media complex, millions of dollars, sycophants everywhere in the media, versus Mitt Romney with the entire conservative media capitulated behind him, his millions, and NEWTON LEROY GINGRICH is only 7 points behind Obama in the lastest Rasmussen tracking?

“You’re not saying that but you are talking about voting against Romney in the general.”

What the Newt supporters here aren’t admitting yet is that Newt’s campaign is all about getting enough delegates to make a difference to Romney - and possibly secure a spot on the Romney ticket (and get him to pay his campaign debts). THEN they’ll all say it’s a good idea to vote for Romney......

Neither Newt nor Romney is a conservative, despite what they both say.

The GOP establishment is the real enemy, not dems. Well, dems are the enemy but to have the ones supposedly on the right side show themselves as traitors, where does one turn?

I am hoping for a revolution at the convention.

Or to put it another way, just because a Bosox fan thinks Bobby Valentine sucks, it doesn’t mean they want the Yankees to win.

Defeatism is not how wars are won.

Neither is delusion. All these "Newt's in it to win it!" cheerleaders are looking like Baghdad Bob at this point.

His campaign at this point is little more than a glorified book tour to bolster a career in political punditry.

How exactly do you know that? I mean, did Newt tell you? Somebody on his staff? Are you maybe projecting what you would do in a similar situation? Is that how the Santorum supporters explain their boy dropping out, not willing to put it on the line in PA? Or are you just super super smart, prescient, with x-ray vision into people's souls?

I mean you couldn't even keep track of the number of times you posted to me... Not confidence inspiring, friend...

Guess again. You missed with that one. I will never vote for Romney.

Gingrichs' lifetime ACU rating is 90.

In 2002 Romney said he was "progressive".

Hardly. What I'm seeing is people buying the MSM and RNC propaganda. Turn off the TV!

There are primaries on this Tuesday in CT, DE, NY, PA and RI.

How do you think Newt will do in those states? How many delegates will he get?

“I will never vote for Romney.”

Yes you will - you are so enamored with Newt’s BS, you’ll vote for Romney when Newt, the erstwhile sort of conservative, throws in with Romney.

Newt talks like a conservative (at least now he does), but behaves like a progressive.

Romney is a NE Liberal, or a progressive or....?

Both Newt and Romney are for themselves before they are for America.

You, me and everyone else will probably ultimately pull the lever for Romney to get rid of Obama. I wish it weren’t so.

Your comment was to the point!!! I haven’t had a TV but for 2 years since I left my parents home and that was during to Clinton impeachment so it was sort of interesting...

I can imagine how vile TV is now.

Romney was asking RNC delegates in Arizona on Friday to sign pledges that they’ll vote for him on EVERY ballot at the convention. That’s not a sign of someone who is “inevitable” or has the nomination. That’s the sign of someone very scared that he will not hit 1,144 delegates and the nominee will be up for a vote at the convention. So if even Romney knows he’s not the inevitable nominee, why do his supporters not agree with him?

Oh, wow. I hadn't heard that. That's a really telling sign, isn't it? And apparently, a number of them refused.

NEXT ON THE AGENDA: Santorum supporters have had time to grieve, it's time to get them to switch to Newt. Will take a very balanced deft approach. Rick is on some sort of vanity trip and trying to hold onto them by telling them to "vote their conscience" (read vote for Santorum), instead of telling them to support the LCS. Newt is truly the last conservative standing and everyone needs to get behind him. No one twisted Santorum's arm to get out of the race. It was mostly about money and not being able to win PA.

Does anyone really think if he had been ahead by 10 points in PA he would have dropped out because of family concerns? Anyone?

Telling his supporters to vote their conscience is taking support from the last conservative in the race. He needs to be separated from this strategy... or atleast his supporters do..

There are too many Democrats on this blog. You’re dislike for Romney will assure you get Obama for another four. You cannot possibly believe that Obama is better than Romney.

What you are saying to Romney supporters is that you would rather have four more years of a failed Presidency. It’s amazing to me how politically astute some of you Romney haters are.

Greyfox, why do you think it’s over? The convention hasn’t occurred. Many a slip between the cup and the lip and all that.

How about a revolution at the convention, sounds good to me.

PS - Pre-emptive surrender is not how wars are won.

Greyfox, your debating tactics are dirty.

Romney is not the candidate. People who loathe Romney because he’s a lying pandering leftist are not Dems and do not support 0bastard.

It’s not over yet. The R candidate is not decided. You’re apparently pushing a liberal candidate even though there Newt is still running and who knows what will happen at the convention. Are you a Mormon?

We know Romney is as BAD as Obama.

Romney even has more liberal accomplishments than Bam. He got Cap & Trade passed in Massachusetts. Bam didn't.
